When the team from the mountain city base returned to the villa area, they only saw people on the ground who looked weak but were still insisting on using their superpowers.
"Captain, there's a body over here!"
Just as Qi Xin was about to ask a survivor, he heard his teammate Gao Zheng calling him, and his heart tightened.
The sound came from behind a rockery, and he quickly strode over.
As soon as Qi Xin turned behind the rocks, he saw two survivors lying on the ground.
His face was bluish-black, clearly indicating he had died from poisoning.
"Captain, both of them have multiple scratches on their bodies, and the wounds are bluish-purple. They were probably attacked by some kind of mutated animal with poisonous claws and died from poisoning."
After quickly examining the body, Gao Zheng stood up and walked to Qi Xin's side, saying with a solemn expression.
"Captain, there are bodies here too!"
The voice of another team member, Xu Ran, came from outside Villa No. 3.
"Captain, there are bodies here too!"
Several more team members' voices rang out one after another.
Qi Xin frowned, his gaze sweeping over the positions of the team members one by one.
He was in charge of security in the villa area, but now this mishap has occurred that has almost wiped out all the survivors.
'call--'
A moment later, Qi Xin let out a heavy breath and walked back towards the survivor who was using his supernatural abilities to detoxify.
What happened earlier?
Qi Xin squatted down in front of a man with a crew cut and asked him in a deep voice.
The crew-cut man opened his eyes, glanced at Qi Xin expressionlessly, and suddenly his eyes widened in anger.
"Don't you dare talk to me! What do you mean, a villa area with a base guarding it day and night, and guaranteed safety...?"
Bah! What kind of guarantee is that?!
If it weren't for my good fortune and the kind people who saved me, I would have died long ago!
You're asking me what happened? I'd like to ask you the same thing!
"Get out of here! I handed over so many supplies, and now I have no one to use them!"
The crew-cut man cursed and closed his eyes, continuing to focus on removing the poison, not wanting to look at Qi Xin a second time.
Qi Xin knew he was in the wrong, so he didn't get angry even though he was scolded.

Some even asked him to refund his accommodation fee.
"Captain..." Gao Zheng felt sorry for Qi Xin.
A pack of mutated wolves had rushed in earlier; if they weren't driven out, the villa area would inevitably suffer heavy casualties.
Unexpectedly, just as the mantis stalks the cicada unaware of the oriole behind, after they drove away the mutated wolf, other mutated creatures broke in.

Qi Xin waved his hand at Gao Zheng, "Take your men and carefully examine the scene again, and tally up the casualties."

Gao Zheng responded, raised his hand and patted Qi Xin's shoulder lightly to comfort him, then turned and walked towards the other team members.

Qi Xin suddenly looked at Qin Ran, his voice filled with expectation and pleading, "Then can you tell me?"
"Sure, but I have one condition."
Qin Ran had her own plans in mind, her gaze fixed intently on Qi Xin.
A wary glint flashed in Qi Xin's eyes as he asked, "What are the conditions?"
A box of instant noodles.
"What!" Qi Xin's eyes widened in disbelief. "A box of instant noodles?"
"That's right."
Qin Ran nodded seriously, "What happened here will surely reach the base commander's ears very soon."
If you can't explain the situation clearly then, the losses will be far more than just a box of instant noodles.
Qi Xin's heart sank upon hearing this.
Just as the man in front of him said, if the base commander asked him questions and he couldn't answer, he would lose everything he had now.
Compared to that, a box of instant noodles really isn't much.
He immediately made a decision, "Okay, I promise you."
Qin Ran was overjoyed, but remained outwardly calm. She quickly walked to Qi Xin's side and told him everything that had happened.
After listening, Qi Xin's expression became even more serious. "I understand. Where do you live? I'll have someone send you the payment later."
Qin Ran gave him an address.
Qi Xin nodded and left in a hurry.
He had to report the matter before the base commander found out.
After Qi Xin left, Qin Ran could no longer contain her joy, and the corners of her mouth turned up in a wide smile.
After a long pause, he took a deep look at Villa No. 1, and then strode away.
He had to hurry back to his lodgings to wait for someone to bring him his payment.
Shen Nanxing stood by the window of the second bedroom on the second floor, taking in everything that was happening below, especially the last glance Qin Ran gave him before leaving.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, a dangerous glint flashing in them.
'knock knock'
"Brother Chen, are you asleep?"
The knocking sound and Jiang Nian'an's voice came at the same time.
"not yet!"
Shen Nanxing put aside his thoughts, strode to the door, and opened it for Jiang Nian'an.
As soon as the door opened, Jiang Nian'an threw herself into his arms, looked up at him with a smile, and said, "I made some late-night snacks, let's eat something before we rest~"
She and Shen Nanxing only ate two pieces of bread for dinner; they were afraid they wouldn't be able to sleep if they didn't have a late-night snack.
