"By the way, don't go out and about these next few days. I have a task for you."
Old Master Bai suddenly changed the subject.
Bai Zeyi was taken aback. "What mission?"
"Keep an eye on your sister and don't let her do anything reckless."
Grandpa Bai sighed, his aged face showing signs of fatigue.
"My sister's leg is broken, how can she do anything reckless?"
Bai Zeyi curled her lip, not taking his words seriously.
"Um?"
Old Master Bai put on a stern face, which made Bai Zeyi shudder.
"Okay, okay, I know!"
He got up with a bitter face, muttering as he walked out, "What do you mean by keeping an eye on my sister to prevent her from doing anything wrong? You're just using that as an excuse to restrict my personal freedom!"
Old Master Bai sighed as he watched his retreating figure.

The sky had darkened, and a biting wind, carrying snowflakes, raged through the city's streets and alleys, causing the temperature to drop further and further.
"It seems that Xiao Yi hasn't come back to find Da Ying."
Jiang Nian'an and his two companions hid in a dark alley under the cover of night, gazing at the rooftop where the giant eagles were.
"Sister, could it be that Xiao Yi noticed those people were following it and deliberately avoided them?"
Xiao Longzhan was already wearing a thick down jacket, with only his round eyes showing.
"That's possible." Jiang Nian'an couldn't think of any other reason.
"Anyway, they are safe for now. Let's find a place to settle down and rest nearby."
Feeling sorry for Jiang Nian'an's exhaustion after a long day, Shen Nanxing quickly found a small shop where they could rest but which wasn't too far from the giant eagles.
The shop was a bit messy, so he quickly cleared out the clutter and started a fire.
After the door was closed, the temperature inside the store gradually rose.
"Brother-in-law," Xiao Longzhan said, feeling a bit hot, as he unbuttoned his coat and pointed to the fire, "aren't you afraid the firelight will attract them?"
"I'm not afraid of them coming, I'm afraid they won't come."
Shen Nanxing took the pot from Jiang Nian'an and placed it on the fire, pouring water into it while answering Xiao Longzhan's question.
"That makes sense! When we run into them again, we'll make them pay!"
Xiao Longzhan clenched his fist, his little face tense. "Brother-in-law, you have to help me."
"Hmm." Shen Nanxing patted his head and said with a smile, "On the condition that you listen to us and don't act on your own again."
"When have I ever been disobedient? There's no child more obedient or considerate than me!"
Xiao Longzhan grumbled softly, his cheeks puffed out like steamed buns, completely forgetting why the three of them had appeared in Jilun City in the first place.
"Hmm?" Jiang Nian'an turned her head and glanced at him.
Her gaze was light and airy, but it immediately reminded Xiao Longzhan of what happened that morning. He was instantly deflated and gave Jiang Nian'an a guilty yet ingratiating chuckle.
"You!"
Jiang Nian'an sighed and exchanged a glance with Shen Nanxing, both seeing a helpless smile in each other's eyes.
"Sister, I want to eat braised pork knuckle!"
Xiao Longzhan, fearing another round of mixed-gender nagging, quickly changed the subject.

There were many ready-made dishes prepared by the Shen family's chef in the space, and Jiang Nian'an took out a few of them directly.
The three of them had barely eaten anything all day, and the aroma of food made them feel incredibly hungry.
Xiao Longzhan casually wiped his hands with a disinfectant wipe and was about to grab a braised pork knuckle to eat when Jiang Nian'an glared at him. He then wiped his hands again, looking aggrieved.
After being examined by Jiang Nian'an, he was finally allowed to hold and gnaw on the pork knuckle.
Shen Nanxing sat down next to Jiang Nian'an and asked about the details of the day while they ate.
Jiang Nian'an then told him.
When Shen Nanxing heard that Bi Zechen wanted to make Jiang Nian'an his sister and even planned to bring her back to the Bi family, his face darkened.
"Want to be your younger brother? Ha!"
He gave a cold laugh, a glint of ruthlessness flashing in his eyes, "I think he's up to no good!"
“I think he’s weird. He looks about the same age as Xiao Zhanzhan, but he has the temperament of a teenager.”
Jiang Nian'an put a piece of fried fish into Shen Nanxing's bowl to calm him down, and continued, "After we get back to Beijing, ask Jiu Fangyun if he knows anything about this strange child."
"Okay, I'll go ask myself."
Since it concerned Jiang Nian'an, Shen Nanxing dared not be careless in the slightest.
"By the way, what's the situation with those people you chased after earlier?"
