Chapter 248 Attack on the Dungeon Entrance

Who is Wei Cheng?

Ye Jingyan had realized that Wei Cheng, whom they knew, was very likely from another world as well.

He already suspected that Wei Cheng and Ye Ling came from the same place, and that he might even have another identity with Ye Ling. However, Ye Jingyan didn't want to think about this identity.

Ye Ling shook her head: "I don't know who he is. Maybe he'll find out something when he gets here."

Ye Jingyan looked at her: "Are you going to save him?"

Ye Ling countered, "Do you think I should save him?"

Ye Jingyan looked into her eyes and patiently analyzed for her: "He should be saved. Putting aside his identity, just the fact that he single-handedly killed so many giants makes him worthy of being saved."

We are currently in a state of information isolation and cannot keep up with the situation there, but we can analyze the information we have.

The giants must have appeared some time ago. For the local survivors, their appearance was more devastating than natural disasters or bizarre creatures.

For Wei Cheng to be there, he must have received some information. Regardless of whether he had a ulterior motive for killing the giant, the fact that he risked his identity and life to save the survivors makes him worthy of your rescue.

Ye Ling nodded: "That's what I considered too, so I felt I should save him."

Ye Jingyan patted her head. "We're not targeting anyone, so don't feel guilty. Once we're done here, we'll go back to the capital to avenge your family."

Ye Ling only saw what was happening on Wei Cheng's side and did not hear what he said, so she did not know that Wei Cheng had sent someone to bring her enemies over.

The entrance to the underground city of Jincheng.

A car drove up here, and three men and one woman got out. Everyone was covered up so tightly that their faces could not be seen.

As they approached the elevator entrance, two armed robots blocked their way: "Please show your dungeon ID."

The robot was very tall, and its lower body was not visible, but the laser guns on its long arms and its red-glowing eyes sent chills down one's spine.

The four people stood still, and upon hearing the identification tags, one of them took out his identification tag and showed it to the robot.

The robot scanned his ID card and body, then a mechanical voice announced: "Ma Linqiang, a senior resident of Block B."

They immediately let them through after they finished speaking.

The three people behind them were about to follow when the robot stopped them and repeated its words: "Please show your dungeon ID card."

One of them said, "Didn't Ma Linqiang already show it? We're all together."

Ma Linqiang stood behind the robot without saying a word, just quietly watching the three of them.

The robot spoke in a cold voice: "Final warning. Please show your dungeon identification card."

Ma Linqiang said to the three men, "Mr. Wu, as I've said before, only those with identity tokens can enter the underground city; otherwise, no one can. If you try to force your way in, they will attack you directly."

The three scoffed, and one of them said, "I'd like to see just how powerful they are."

Ma Linqiang quickly shouted, "Don't do it!"

But the three of them ignored his words and attacked at the same time.

Sharp beeping sounds immediately rang out from all around: "Beep beep, enemy attack!"

"Number three in position,"

"Enemy has been locked on."

"All-around firing."

Ma Linqiang didn't care about anything else and quickly covered his head and hid behind the elevator door. Then he heard a "bang bang bang" sound.

Ma Linqiang's mind went blank from the sound of the laser gun. He was slammed against the elevator door by the powerful energy, coughed up blood, and collapsed to the ground.

He thought to himself, "This time I'm really doomed. I'm in the center of the fire, there's nowhere to hide, I'm definitely going to die."

It wasn't until the cold, mechanical voice above him announced, "Crisis over," that he realized he was still alive.

Just as he struggled to his feet, the elevator doors next to him suddenly opened, and a group of fully armed soldiers carrying heavy weapons appeared in front of him.

"Professor Ma, are you alright?"

Seeing that Ma Linqiang was bleeding from all seven orifices, two soldiers quickly came over to help him up.

Ma Linqiang coughed twice, waved to them, and looked ahead.

The person who threatened him had disappeared; it was unclear whether he had been killed or escaped, but he left no trace.

Is he dead?

Soldier: "Two died, and one escaped."

Ma Linqiang was helped into the elevator: "We'll take you down first."

Ma Linqiang nodded slightly, then fell silent.

It wasn't until they stepped out of the elevator in the underground city that Ma Linqiang quickly said to the soldiers beside him, "Immediately notify your commander to come see me. Something has happened."

One of them immediately carried out the order, while the other took him to the hospital.

The residents of the underground city were quite agitated. The warning issued by the robot had just been broadcast live on the large screen in the underground city square.

This was the first time they had ever seen someone attempt to force their way into the dungeon, and even survive a robot attack, with one person leaving alive.

They suddenly realized that the underground city might not be so safe after all.

Someone went to find Ma Linqiang, and while he was being bandaged, someone asked, "Professor Ma, who are those people? Are they trying to force their way into the underground city?"

Ma Linqiang looked at the group of people around him and nodded: "I have some very bad news to tell you all. There is a traitor among us. They have leaked information about our underground city."

A woman spoke up: "The underground city isn't a secret; everyone in the country knows about it. There's no question of it being revealed. But Professor Ma, are you implying that outsiders have appeared in Jincheng?"

The outsiders she referred to were immediately understood by any intelligent person.

Ma Linqiang nodded slightly: "That's right, and quite a few have happened. This time I took my students to the previous lab, but we were caught by outsiders on the way."

My students, including the soldiers protecting me, were instantly killed by the enemy. They took me to a basement, where I saw an acquaintance—the one who leaked information about the underground city and me.
