Chapter 8 contains another "music and dance," but who replaces whom?

Perhaps it was the invigorating smell of hair oil that made Yuewu suddenly think of a question, "What's the date today?"

Looking at the momentarily serious music and dance, Lao Wang replied: "June 21st".

“No,” Yuewu immediately retorted, “I was in a car accident on the 22nd. I didn’t go anywhere on the morning of the 21st. I stayed home dealing with customer after-sales issues. Because I was very tired, I even made myself a cup of expired coffee and prayed that I wouldn’t get diarrhea.”

Le Wu's face turned ashen, and she continued, "But things didn't go as planned. It was only after taking the medicine that the 'jet machine' was barely stopped, so I remember the date very clearly."

Old Wang was shocked. He slammed his hands on the table, leaned forward, and, with saliva flying everywhere, asked, "You had a car accident on the 22nd? So you're back on the 21st now?"

At this moment, clutching her head, she frantically recalled the music and dance, her mind a jumble of questions that she couldn't answer in time.

Old Wang didn't know whether to be surprised or scared.

Is this a ghost?

Amitabha Buddha, my God, believe in science, believe in science!

Without realizing it, Old Wang picked up the keychain, which had a Pixiu on it, thinking he might as well use it to ward off evil for now.

However, unable to suppress his curiosity, and with it being broad daylight, Old Wang, feeling emboldened, slowly stood up and reached out to touch Yue Wu's arm.

Hmm? It's a bit chilly!

Old Wang watched in horror as Yue Wu gradually raised her head. The moment their eyes met, he felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his heart.

"Aaaaaah, that's fucking terrifying!" Old Wang screamed inwardly.

Yue Wu impatiently slapped away Lao Wang's hand. Unable to understand the crux of the matter, her expression was extremely stifled, with a hint of impending explosion.

Seeing the frightened look on Lao Wang's face, Le Wu pinched herself, trying to force herself to calm down, but found that her arm didn't hurt at all!

Suddenly Yue Wu was startled and quickly pinched it several more times, but it still didn't hurt.

Well, that makes it even harder to explain.

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and let the music and dance bring her thoughts back to the present, going over everything again.

The car accident on the 22nd was real, because I could feel the pain. I woke up several times afterward and saw small bright spots, which was fine, since I was still healing my wounds. It couldn't be faked.

The scenes she dreamed about while in a coma must have been real. Although she can't explain them yet, Yuewu just feels that they all happened.

But when she pinched herself, she felt no pain. Yuewu believed that the "me" she was now was not the real "me," but merely the consciousness shell of Number 21.

In other words, he went back in time and replaced another "Music and Dance" who was supposed to come to the hospital!

It's a bit convoluted, but that's the gist of it.

So, what is the purpose of going back to the past?

Meeting Dr. Wang will allow me to discover another "me"?

Is this a hint that the girl was trying to give herself?

In an instant, the thought struck Yuewu like a thunderbolt, as if something was about to emerge from the mist.

At that moment, Yuewu suddenly understood; the girl must have left her a clue.

Old Wang stared intently at Yue Wu, observing all her movements, and occasionally making notes in his notebook.

Suddenly, his eyes met Yuewu's again, and Old Wang felt a sudden unease. What was she up to now? Was she still herself?

Yuewu stood up abruptly, bending forward.

This terrified Old Wang, who was sitting across from him at the desk. He immediately leaned back, kicked his leg, and slid backward in his chair, his expression indescribable.

Yue Wu didn't even glance at him. She reached out and picked up the dark red stone, examining it closely, but found nothing unusual about it.

When he saw that Yue Wu only wanted to take the stone, Old Wang's face showed only embarrassment, and he quietly slid his chair back to the table.

Le Wu noticed Lao Wang's subtle actions, but said nothing. She sat back down in her chair and solemnly inquired about the events that occurred each time the other "Le Wu" came to him.

Given the current situation, Yuewu only hopes to obtain more information through Lao Wang, since Lao Wang is the only person she knows who has met the other "Yuewu".
