Chapter 99 The old lady forces Zhang Dahui to save Erhui

Sister Du was puzzled, but she still kept a close eye on Zhang Erhui and the old lady as Sister Zhang had instructed.

Upon closer inspection, she truly understood the meaning behind Sister Zhang's words, and was instantly alarmed.

At this moment, in front of the fence, the old lady was still rambling on and on, "You're in this state, and your older brother still hasn't woken up. He's trying to drive me crazy with worry. Erhui, I've made your favorite braised pork ribs. Try them, they're delicious."

Meanwhile, Zhang Erhui and his wife across from them were trying to smell the raw meat in the hands of the person in front of them, as well as the person's own smell.

The old lady was furious at the sight of her daughter-in-law looking like a starving ghost, and immediately started scolding, "What are you doing here? You can't even cook, and you just snatch whatever's good to eat. You're not acting like a daughter-in-law at all. You must have had the worst luck to let Erhui marry you. What bad luck!"

No matter how hard the old lady tried, Zhang Erhui wouldn't touch a single rib, leaving the old lady bewildered.

Just then, Sister Zhang, who had run back, came to the old lady's side with a small piece of freshly cut pork in her hand.

She snatched the chopsticks from the old lady's hand, put the ribs back in the bowl, and instead handed the raw meat over the railing.

The old woman immediately shouted, "What are you doing? My son isn't stupid, why would he eat raw meat?"

The two people opposite, who were already excited, started vying for the best spot to open their mouths and catch the meat.

In the midst of the two faces vying for the meat, the raw meat finally ended up in Zhang Erhui's mouth.

The old lady was stunned by the whole process, and even Sister Du behind her frowned.

The old lady was devastated. How could her son have become like this? She couldn't believe it; he must be sick. She had to get him to see a doctor right away.

Seeing the old lady about to rush towards the railing, Sister Zhang, who was standing to the side, was terrified. She reached out and grabbed the old lady, pulling her back. Sister Du also quickly came to help.

The old lady became increasingly distressed and burst into tears.

More and more people came out after finishing their meals, and they were all puzzled by what they saw. What was going on now?

Sister Zhang explained the situation and warned everyone not to get too close.

After hearing these words, the old lady became even more distraught. "My son is not like that. He's just sick. He's just sick. He can get better with medicine."

However, people still unconsciously stay away from the fence.

As night fell, several children and men in the villa area remained asleep, and Lewu on the other side of the tunnel was also still asleep.

Sister Zhang was really worried that the old lady might do something foolish, and Da Hui's wife couldn't control her, so at night she secretly locked Da Hui's door from the outside and would unlock it the next morning. This was the safest method she could think of.

As it turns out, Sister Zhang's guess was correct. The old lady was indeed planning to see her son that evening, and she had even prepared some fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory medicine.

In her mind, it must have been because of the heavy rain yesterday that caused her son to catch a cold and develop a fever that affected his brain; otherwise, how could he have eaten raw meat instead of pork ribs? That must be the reason.

She was surprised that despite having prepared everything, she couldn't open the door, which made her so angry that she cursed the person who locked the door for half the night.

Ms. Zhang was very relieved; thankfully she had taken precautions, otherwise she really didn't know what might have happened.

Finally, dawn broke, and children and men began to wake up one after another. Apart from feeling increasingly tired after sleeping, they didn't feel anything else.

Of course, they also learned about Zhang Erhui's situation and went to see him, all of them sighing with regret.

No one dares to let Zhang Erhui in now, and everyone realizes that he is a potential danger, but in the end, we still have to wait for Feng Xuanlang to make a decision.

In the afternoon, Zhang Dahui woke up and immediately saw his wife, who looked extremely worried, sitting on the edge of the bed holding their child.

Zhang Dahui, ignoring his own discomfort, hurriedly asked his wife, "What's wrong? Did I sleep for a long time? Did something happen?"

Da Hui's wife was overjoyed to see her husband finally open his eyes, but when she heard the question, she sighed deeply, "Er Hui seems to be sick. He only eats raw meat, and Sister Zhang said he even wants to bite people."

“Now Mom has given all the raw meat we had stored at home to Erhui, and she’s even borrowing from others. No matter what we say, she won’t listen.”

Zhang Dahui was a little confused. "Eat raw meat? Bit people? Zhang Erhui?"

"Yes, it's Erhui!"

Rubbing his temples, Zhang Dahui tried to continue sleeping.

The old lady, unable to get any meat, went home and wanted to exchange it for something else.

Suddenly she noticed that Zhang Dahui was awake. She jumped up and clapped her hands with joy, then immediately pulled him along and asked him to help find someone to treat Erhui.

At this moment, Zhang Dahui's body had not yet adjusted, and he felt a little dizzy, but the old lady ignored him and insisted on dragging him away.

Zhang Dahui felt extremely annoyed and this time shook off his mother's hand.

"I just woke up, and my head still hurts. Can't you feel sorry for me? I'm your son too."

The old lady was taken aback by her eldest son's reaction and suddenly didn't know what to say.

But after a while, she realized that she had come to ask her eldest son for help, since her youngest son was sick and he couldn't just ignore him.

"Have you rested enough? Your younger brother is still waiting for you. As his older brother, you can't just ignore him. Go find Feng Xuanlang and get the key to the door later. We can't let him stay outside any longer. We have to take care of him."

Da Hui's wife panicked, "Mom, what are you saying? Er Hui eats raw meat and bites people. How can we let him move in? Have you thought about the safety of the other people?"

The old lady immediately flew into a rage, “You all say Erhui bites people, but who did he bite? Tell me, who did he bite? He’s just sick, and medicine can cure him. You just don’t want to care about him. I’m telling you, Erhui must be cured, or I’ll never forgive you.”

"Enough!" Zhang Dahui roared. He really didn't want to hear the arguing anymore. His head was already aching, and now it felt even worse.

The old lady was very dissatisfied. Ignoring the two of them, she turned around, went into the kitchen, picked up the rice and cured meat, and went out the door.

Zhang Dahui lay back down on the bed, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.

Da Hui's wife put the child on the ground, went into the kitchen and brought out the rice that had been kept warm in the pot, along with a glass of water. She came to the bedside and gently called to Zhang Da Hui: "You've slept for so long, your stomach must be empty. Get up and eat something before you go back to sleep, or your stomach will be ruined by hunger."

Zhang Dahui opened his eyes, looked at his wife, and felt extremely guilty.

He knew that in the past, when he went out to work and earn money, his wife had to take care of his elderly mother and cook and do laundry for his younger brother's family.

But my mother always says that it's not easy for my younger brother to get married, so she should help him out more. In the end, it's my wife who suffers.

This woman keeps telling me not to worry about the family, and now my mother is acting like this, completely disregarding my family. My heart is cold.

After dinner, Zhang Dahui felt much better and talked to his wife in detail about Zhang Erhui's condition. He felt from the bottom of his heart that Zhang Erhui was incurable.

Is someone who only knows how to eat raw meat and even wants to eat human flesh still human?

Isn't this just like the zombies in the foreign movies that Alan watched before?
