Chapter 10 Searching for the Answer She Was Seeking

Let's return our attention to Old Wang's office.

Lost in her memories, Yuewu wondered if anything special would happen on June 10th.

There needs to be some kind of trigger for Mo Xiaole to appear and go to find Lao Wang.

No matter how hard I tried, all I could think about was the torment of a low-grade fever I had suffered for several days, feeling dizzy and weak, and spending my days either taking medicine or just sleeping.

Since there was no progress, Yuewu had no choice but to listen to the scene of their second meeting first.

At 8:50 a.m. on June 20, the girl sat waiting on the bench outside Dr. Wang's door.

Since the appointment time was 9 o'clock, Lao Wang saw that there were still ten minutes left, so he took his water cup and went out to get a cup of hot water first.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I opened the door and turned around, I saw the girl waiting there, and what was particularly striking was the red mark on the girl's right cheek.

With a furrowed brow, Old Wang gave up on fetching water and stepped aside to invite the girl into the office first.

But the girl simply stood up without moving her feet.

Old Wang hesitated for a moment, then turned around and walked into the office first.

Then the girl came in and immediately closed the door, as if something was chasing her outside, and even locked it.

Old Wang simply watched Yuewu's every move silently until she sat down quietly.

Normally, Lao Wang would begin his opening remarks and take the lead in the entire communication process.

But this time, Lao Wang did not speak first.

He could tell that the girl was experiencing inner turmoil and that she needed time to calm down.

So Old Wang took out a scented candle from the drawer and lit it, and a faint vanilla scent gradually spread.

About four or five minutes later, the girl said firmly to Dr. Wang, "I want to be hypnotized to find a very important answer."

Out of professional habit as a psychologist, Lao Wang asked, "Could you tell me the answer to what specific question it was?"

The girl didn't answer, but you could tell she was anxious.

Without further hesitation, Dr. Wang immediately fulfilled the girl's request for hypnosis.

He also wanted to know what the girl's purpose was in coming here.

What else did she experience in her dream?

Why did the girl's demeanor become so lifeless?

Old Wang was also filled with curiosity about the red marks on her face and the bruises on the back of her hands.

In reality, the girl remained quiet throughout the hypnosis process, except for a brief moment when her body trembled and her face was covered in fine beads of sweat.

It was clear that she was trying her best to hold back her emotions; her tightly clenched hands were marked with bright red spots from her fingernails, and she didn't utter a sound to express her feelings.

This must be the ultimate pain, Old Wang couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

More than an hour later, the girl finally woke up. She stared blankly at the table, her lips trembling.

Looking at the girl who looked like she had been washed by water, Old Wang couldn't bear to disturb her.

He even hesitated about whether he could ask her some questions, feeling that doing so would reopen her wounds.

In reality, the girl didn't intend to say anything. After regaining her composure, she stood up and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, he caught sight of a stone on Dr. Wang's desk and asked, "Where did this stone come from?"

Dr. Wang paused for a moment, then replied, "My son found it and put it in my pocket. I found it when I changed clothes today."

The girl looked at Dr. Wang pleadingly: "Can you give it to me? I'm willing to pay for it."

Dr. Wang was a little confused. To be honest, he didn't see anything special about the stone. His son liked to collect small things to bring home, especially stones. Every now and then, his mother would throw some away, otherwise the stones would be everywhere in the house and take up too much space.

If I had to point out the difference between this stone and the stones at home, it would probably be that it's too ugly.

It was only the size of a ping-pong ball, dark red all over, with a pitted and uneven surface and no luster whatsoever. Dr. Wang didn't believe for a second that it was valuable or that it could yield jade or anything like that; he thought it was just wishful thinking.

So I was ready to agree immediately, but after thinking about it, I realized it was my child's child, so I should ask first. So we agreed to give an answer tomorrow.

That's the whole process of our second meeting.

After listening to the music and dance, he frowned even more deeply. This time, he didn't gain much insight, except for the stone, which was the key.

He immediately picked up the stone again and examined it once more.

After watching it repeatedly for a long time, Yuewu really came to a realization: it really is ugly!

As for the rest, nothing was gained.

Seeing that there was no progress at all, she couldn't help but wish that she had the Monkey King's fiery eyes!

What demons and monsters, what beautiful women and stones... um... what stones, sigh, I'd better not think about it.

Then I glanced at Dr. Wang's notebook on the table, which contained all the records of our two meetings.

Yue Wu casually picked it up, hoping to find a breakthrough.

Unfortunately, Dr. Wang's handwriting was neat and clear, but it wasn't what Yuewu wanted, so she closed the notebook and handed it back to him.

Seeing Yuewu looking dejected, Old Wang wondered how he could help her. He spoke up and asked, "Why did you have injuries on your face and hands yesterday?"

Was it yesterday? Old Wang was a little confused.

The claim that music and dance could travel across time and return has made him start to doubt what year it is.

Le Wu was suddenly startled by the question and exclaimed, "Yes, why are there red marks on my face and bruises on the back of my hands?"

She thought about it carefully, and it seemed that she woke up in the morning and found herself lying on the ground.

At the time, I thought it was because I wasn't sleeping well and bumped my hand and face when I rolled off the bed.

Therefore, Yuewu never suspected that there was another reason for her injury, nor did she think that it might be related to another person.

Well, she can't be sure what the reason is now either, since bumping into something is a plausible explanation.

However, based on my understanding of music and dance, and combined with what I saw in the dream, the red marks could not have happened in the dream.

The only plausible explanation is that something happened to Xiao Le here.

But she was unfamiliar with the place and people, so who could she possibly clash with?

Unless she punishes herself with self-harm for some reason.

Yes, that explains it.

You must have experienced something terrible to have the heart to slap yourself like that.

Wait, something's not right. There's a little strange problem.

Upon closer reflection, this is my own face too, so why did Mo Xiaole slap me across the face?

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got, but she couldn't confront Mo Xiaole face to face.

You can only comfort yourself, saying, "Don't be angry, don't be angry, getting sick from anger will only make you sick and no one can take your place."

Not necessarily. Is it possible that Mo Xiaole wanted to "take her place"?

In an instant, Yue Wu was terrified.

Stroking the stone, Yuewu made a bold decision.

Let Lao Wang hypnotize me again, because Mo Xiaole is also using this body.

Perhaps this way we can reach into Mo Xiaole's world and find the answers she is looking for.

Only in this way can we know the truth of the matter.
