Chapter 4: Becoming a Little Zombie
Xuanyunduo has always been very careful. She did not participate when people in the community group exchanged needed supplies. Later, when someone could not stay in the corridor and visited others, she did not go out and tried her best to avoid contact with others.
The network signal has been intermittent, so any messages are delayed.
The message she sent to her friend fell on deaf ears, and her heart sank as well.
at the same time.
She began to keep a diary.
There was a zombie outbreak on the first day, but the authorities are already doing their best to deal with it, so it is still under control for the time being. There are just a lot more vehicles entering and leaving the community, and many people in protective clothing are busy downstairs.
The temperature dropped sharply on the second day. The biggest temperature difference was that it was so hot in the morning that you couldn't wear clothes, and then it was so cold at night that no one could stand it.
Fortunately, the living facilities were intact and the heating was provided in time to save them.
Starting from the third day, some water sources had problems, the infected zombie virus became somewhat uncontrollable, and the worst thing was that the power outages were getting longer and longer.
Xuanyunduo hardly slept during these three days, and she managed to cook most of the food, but she didn't dare to eat any smelly food later on.
After the third day, we started to run out of food and no one delivered food. The community was in chaos and became empty. No cars came anymore.
On the fourth day, the water began to have a strange smell and no one dared to drink the tap water. In the afternoon, some people could not hold it anymore and wanted to go out of the community to check the situation, although many people were shouting from upstairs, asking them not to go out.
But they said, if they don’t go out to see the truth, will they die of thirst? "You are too cowardly to go out, so we will go!"
"That's right! What if they abandon us and run away? No medical staff are coming today! Are we all going to be imprisoned in a circle?!"
The brave ones simply refused to listen, or perhaps after experiencing the magical events of the past few days, their spirits were on the verge of collapse.
Just as they were about to go out, they saw a figure in protective clothing appear. This made them feel relieved. They immediately waved and even cursed, "Damn it, I thought you were going to starve us to death and thirst us to death. Did you know that the tap water has a weird smell?"
Several others echoed, "That's right! Treat the drinking water quickly!"
Xuanyunduo felt that these people were really rude to the volunteers, but the next second she saw that the person in the protective suit was not moving normally, and her heart sank even more, and she no longer had a glimmer of hope.
With a gloomy look in her eyes, she closed the curtains, turned around and sat against the wall, took out her diary from the space, and wrote down: November 6, 2029, all medical volunteers have fallen, and the community is about to lose order.
If no official people come, that can only mean one thing: they can't come.
The situation is indeed bad.
Sure enough, there were screams of fear coming from downstairs, and the people who were preparing to leave the community were shouting frantically that the volunteer had also been infected with rabies.
The people upstairs were so frightened that they dared not utter a word, and almost everyone immediately went to lock the front door.
Xuanyueduo's eyes were filled with big tears, but there was nothing she could do. The Doomsday Escape Manual had already estimated the date when order would collapse, and it was exactly the same, and it officially began on the fourth day.
She wiped away her tears and decided to rely on herself for the rest of the journey. She had to hold on until the end.
There was a big difference between having official order maintained and having one. On the fourth night after the apocalypse, the screams in the community became louder, and there were constant sounds of heavy objects falling to the ground, as well as some animal-like roars from downstairs.
People in other buildings began scrambling for supplies, and everyone was in panic.
Xuanyunduo also saw the content posted by everyone in the community group when there was a signal. Despair occupied most of the content, and she tried hard to block out the bad messages.
Calm yourself.
The most frightening thing about this kind of thing is mental breakdown. As an ordinary person, Xuanyunduo feels that she is already very strong, and she still has space to rely on. If there is no space, she might feel desperate.
Compared to other people's anxiety about food and water, she was fine.
Therefore, when someone knocked on her door, Xuanyuduo didn't make any noise. She had everything she needed to eat and drink, and her small apartment was the best protection for her.
Two days later, the water and electricity were completely cut off, and the community became deserted.
There are zombies wandering downstairs. They scratch at the door every day, but the early zombies do not have the ability to break down the door, they can only scratch.
It's safe as long as you don't go downstairs.
However, the survivors' fight for supplies became more and more intense. Many doors were smashed several times. A neighbor in the same building even complained that her door was very strong and she couldn't break it open no matter how hard she tried.
However, they didn't know that if they really broke into the house, Xuanyunduo who was guarding the door would pull the trigger on the chainsaw. Although she was afraid, it didn't mean she wouldn't resist. Fortunately, the door of her house was really strong.
It was worth the more than 10,000 yuan she spent on the anti-theft door, it was really very, very sturdy.
But even if there is no contact with people.
What Xuanyunduo didn't understand was that she seemed to be turning into a zombie. Her brain reactions began to slow down, her body became dull, and so did her tongue. So on the tenth day of the apocalypse, she had to admit that she had turned into a zombie. She was so angry that she lay in bed for ten whole days.
She has to turn into a zombie right from the start. Why give her the space that's standard for a protagonist? !
It's so infuriating!
She couldn't speak even when she opened her mouth, and could only make babbling sounds, which made her so angry that she kicked her legs.
Then she found that her leg kicking movement had become more flexible, so she turned over in bed. Then she found that her body had softened from stiffness, and she had regained some flexibility, but her tongue was still not working well.
It may also be because I haven’t talked to anyone for a long time, or it may be due to psychological reasons.
Xuanyunduo still only spoke in babbling tones, which made her cheeks puffy with anger. She sat cross-legged on the bed and thought for a long time before she remembered to write a diary.
Then she found that her brain had not fully recovered and was working slower than before. She had to think for a long time about some things. This fact made her angry for three days. Finally, she found that she could survive without eating and she wanted to cry even more.
The apocalypse has just begun, and she has saved up a lot of food and drinks, but she can’t eat them all when she turns into a zombie!
Xuanyunduo really wanted to cry, but zombies have no tears, so she shut up again, took out the food and chewed it dry. She could only taste one percent of the flavor, which made her feel cold in her heart.
She collapsed in anger in the room several times, and more than half a month had passed since the end of the world.
Xuanyunduo knows nothing about the outside world. Her neighborhood has become completely deserted. There are more and more zombies downstairs, and some even can climb walls.
There are survivors.
She could hear them coming out to look for supplies during the day, and they tried to pry open her door several times, but they couldn't open it, so they had to give up.
Xuanyunduo was too lazy to pay attention to them. After all, she was no longer a human being.
Everything was set to continue to go on like this until the early morning of the twenty-sixth day of the apocalypse, when the sounds of gunfire began to be heard in the originally quiet K city, and the rescue operation finally began.
