Chapter 5 Internet Shutdown
"Report: I am safe and unaffected!"
+1.
Ji Zai breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that no one was injured.
At least for now, I can get a good night's sleep tonight.
After the matter was resolved, no one wanted to stay in the corridor any longer, and they all went back to their dormitories.
After finishing, Ji Zai noticed that the group of people from before were gone, so she sent a message in the group chat.
[303: The zombies on the third floor have been dealt with, everyone can sleep peacefully now.]

After everything was dealt with, the chat in the group went quiet, and everything returned to its usual calm, as if nothing had happened.
Recording is understandable.
After all, it's the end of the world now.
They don't know them, so it's understandable that they're wary.
It was already unexpected that they would step forward when it was necessary to deal with zombies.
After they left, Ji Zai did not leave; instead, he went into the zombie dormitory.
It was just an ordinary four-person dormitory room, and because it was the end of the semester, it felt rather empty.
Liang Qiyue shared a dorm room with Ji Zai. Given the current situation, she was scared and dared not act alone.
So he kept sticking to Ji Zai, asking, "Old Ji, what are we doing here?"
Ji Zai stroked his chin and analyzed seriously, "There are 114 people in this building, but there is a zombie on the third floor. I feel something is wrong. Logically speaking, if she was infected by the virus, she should be locked outside."
"But now, she is in the dormitory, which makes me speculate that she may have been infected with the virus before it arrived, which is why she rushed back to the dormitory before the outbreak."
"I'll see if I can find any clues about the virus, just in case."
Not long after he finished speaking, Ji Zai noticed the messy books on the table.
She went to the desk.
There was an open notebook on the desk, which looked like a diary.
Just as Ji Zai was about to touch it, Liang Qiyue, who had walked over, stopped him.
She shook her head. "The transmission route of the virus is currently unknown. If you rashly touch the victim's notes, and if there are any unknown substances in the notes, you're doomed."
After saying that, she took out gloves. "Wearing gloves is safer."
Ji Zai took it and put it on. "It shouldn't have been contact between objects. When we closed the door, we touched the iron bars."
"The railings have been touched by zombies."
"If the route of transmission was really through contact, or indirect contact, then I would have been finished long ago."
Liang Qiyue thought about it and realized it was true.
She held out her hand, saying, "Then I don't need my gloves anymore, give them back to me."
Ji Zai shook his head, "I don't want to. Although there's a high probability it won't happen, what good person wouldn't take some precautions before causing trouble!"
"What if I get infected!"
Ji Zai quickly took the diary and left.
It was already late at night.
Everyone should go home or go to sleep.
Perhaps it was because I was too frightened tonight.
The people in the dormitory slept soundly tonight.
Early the next morning.
Ji Zai returned to his old ways, pulling his roommate up a mango tree. One picked mangoes, and the other caught them, working together seamlessly.
They soon returned home with a full load.
After returning to his dormitory, Ji Zai ate loquats and ripe mangoes for breakfast.
While eating, he sighed, "We need to seriously think about how to store food. With our current storage capacity, we'll really starve to death in three days."
Liang Qiyue agreed with this.
It is the end of the world.
Food is hard to come by these days.
They were trapped in the dormitory building. Although they were safe for the time being, they didn't know what the future held.
If they can hold out until the rescue team arrives in the next few days, then everyone will be happy.
But to be honest, the chances are slim.
With the city under lockdown, how could a rescue team possibly arrive within a few days?
Ji Zai scrolled through his phone. "Yeah, we can send a message to ask if anyone who went home left food in their dorm room and if we can borrow it for a pinch."
Liang Qiyue thought the plan was feasible.
They sent the message very quickly.
[303: Our food supplies are running low. Does any of the sisters who have gone home have any food left to lend us temporarily?]
This request for help was made.
People who were originally lurking left comments.
[421: Here, take it. Everyone in our dorm has gone home. There are still two boxes of small bread rolls in the closet. If they can help you get through this difficult time, that would be perfect.]
[222: Agreed. If anything in my dorm can help you, feel free to use it. I won't blame you.]

[421: Oh right, I have something really scary to tell you. It seems like I'm not receiving any messages from other cities anymore. My classmates who live outside of Ning City have all disappeared. I guess they've been silenced.]
[421: I think it won't be long before it's our turn. While we still have internet, you guys should hurry up and do whatever you want.]
As Ji Zai watched the network become increasingly indistinct, his expression changed. "This is really bad luck. We just escaped the zombies, and now we're facing a network outage."
This message hasn't been out for long.
The remaining messages became increasingly slow.
Until finally it formed a circle.
Ji Zai looked at the screen, then at the signal bars, and found that only one bar of signal remained. He immediately spat out a mouthful of blood.
She exclaimed in disbelief, "This damn God, is he planning to completely end the last dog's life of college students?!"
Liang Qiyue scrolled through her phone, but didn't find anything useful.
Keep swiping.
Not a single thing was found.
She wailed, "It's over, the campus network has completely crashed."
Ji Zai was fortunate to have her roommate with her at this time.
The situation is currently unclear.
The city is fraught with danger.
The college students trapped in the university town were even more fearful.
At this moment, Ji Zai completely lost his initial cheerfulness.
The end times have only just begun.
The internet outage was merely the beginning of this cruel prelude.
What's even tougher than this is yet to come.
Looking at the phone, now just scrap metal, Liang Qiyue asked hesitantly, "Old Ji, do you think we'll both die here?"
The records do not know.
Because this is just the beginning, no one knows how the apocalypse will unfold.
Therefore, everything is still unknown.
What they have to do is survive in the face of the unknown.
Just as Ji Zai was feeling down, there was a knock at the door.
She stood up and opened the door.
A quiet girl stood at the door. "There's still a weak signal on the roof. Maybe we can still get some news. Everyone's using the internet on the roof now. If there's anything you haven't explained to your family, then hurry up."
