Chapter 100 Cohabitation
Zhao Wenjing followed her in and quietly helped Qiao Xi pack her clothes and some small items.
"Sister Xixi, don't you like Brother Fengye anymore?" Zhao Wenjing looked at him and finally couldn't help but ask in a low voice.
Josie paused in folding clothes, without looking up: "Wenjing, in today's world, sometimes liking someone is the most useless thing. The problem between you and Fengye isn't something that can be solved by whether you like each other or not. We... have reached the end. He won't want to see me again."
She spoke with absolute certainty, silencing any words of comfort Zhao Wenjing could offer.
Looking at Qiao Xi's resolute profile, Zhao Wenjing could only sigh and silently quicken her pace in tidying up: "Well... okay. Sister Xi, you must take good care of yourself in the future. I'll come to see you when I have time."
In the end, Josie only packed a small backpack.
She refused the hot water offered by Granny Chen and her repeated attempts to persuade her to stay. With her bag on her back, she walked out of the "home" that had briefly provided her with shelter and warmth, but also left her with complicated emotional entanglements, under the old woman's earnest and reluctant gaze.
As soon as I stepped down the stairs, a familiar figure appeared furtively.
"Hey, Miss Qiao! Long time no see!"
Chen Peng had an exaggerated smile on his face, but his eyes couldn't help glancing at the bag on her back. His joy was almost overflowing from his eyebrows and the corners of his eyes. "Are you... moving?"
He was overjoyed: This menacing demon was finally leaving!
When the woman moved away, he felt as if the dark clouds overhead had dispersed!
Josie stopped in her tracks, looking at the undisguised ecstasy in his eyes, and sneered inwardly.
She turned around, a half-smile on her face, but her eyes were sharp as knives, piercing straight at Chen Peng.
"Yes, I don't live here anymore." She said in a relaxed tone, even with a hint of a smile.
Chen Peng's smile grew even brighter.
However, Josie's next words instantly froze him in place.
“However,” Josie stepped forward, the invisible pressure causing Chen Peng to instinctively step back, “Grandma Chen and Wenjing still live here.”
Her voice wasn't loud, but every word was clear, carrying an undeniable warning: "From now on, Captain Chen, I'll leave those two in your care. Please take good care of them."
Chen Peng's smile vanished instantly, faster than a face change.
“As for me,” Josie continued slowly, raising her hand to gently pat Chen Peng’s shoulder. The gesture seemed casual, but the force made Chen Peng’s shoulder blades feel numb. “I’ll come back to ‘check on’ them whenever I have time.”
She emphasized the word "look".
“If they’re having a bad time or have been wronged,” Josie’s smile deepened, but her eyes were as cold as ice, “I’ll definitely come back and have a ‘heart-to-heart’ with you.”
Chen Peng felt a chill run from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head. His previous elation vanished, leaving only frustration and irritability.
How could he forget that even if this woman moves away, she's still a woman not to be trifled with!
It's all his fault for being so talkative; why did he have to say something?
"Yes, I understand! Miss Qiao, please rest assured! I will definitely take good care of Grandma Chen and Wenjing! I will make sure they eat and drink well, and that not a single hair on their heads will be missing!"
Chen Peng nodded and smiled ingratiatingly, patting his chest to assure him.
Josie watched with satisfaction as his expression instantly crumbled and his fawning posture appeared before she withdrew her hand.
Regardless of what he thinks, as long as he is still afraid of her and Feng Ye, Granny Chen and Wenjing will be much more comfortable here.
She raised an eyebrow at him with a smile, waved casually, and said, "Very well, then...see you next time."

When Josie pushed open the slightly worn, dark-colored door on the fourth floor of Yuxin Garden, she was stunned.
The room, which was thirty or forty square meters, was kept spotless.
She slowly walked inside and saw Lu Yuyang with his back to her, putting purple sheets on the double bed.
The curtains, in the same color scheme, let in the afternoon sunlight, casting soft dappled light on the cement floor.
Brand new plastic slippers were neatly arranged by the door, and even on the kitchen counter, there was an unopened set of toothbrush and toothpaste and a towel printed with daisies.
Only then did Lu Yuyang realize that someone was behind him, and he quickly turned around.
Upon seeing Josie, a delighted smile spread across his handsome face. "So fast? Let's see if we need anything?"
As he spoke, he came up and took her backpack and suitcase from her hands.
Josie let him take the things away, then slowly walked to the bedside, her fingers brushing against the smooth sheets, the delicate pure cotton feeling carrying the warmth of the sun.
She turned around, leaning against the windowsill, and looked at the man in front of her with a half-smile: "Captain Lu, was this premeditated?"
Lu Yuyang stepped forward and wrapped his strong arms around her waist.
His embrace was burning hot, his chin resting on the top of her head, his deep laughter resonating in his chest, frank yet tinged with a triumphant pleasure: "That's right, it's been planned for a long time. I've been preparing ever since I knew you were moving out."
He lowered his head slightly, his warm lips almost touching her earlobe, "I've been waiting for this every day... and finally, my wish has come true!"
Josie was trapped in the small space between the windowsill and his chest, and could clearly feel his accelerated heartbeat and the body heat transmitted through his clothes.
She raised her palm and gently pressed it against his firm chest, her fingertips revealing powerful muscle lines.
"You live here too?" She looked up and met his deep eyes.
Lu Yuyang grasped her hand, which was pressed against his chest, and unconsciously stroked the back of her hand with his fingertips. "Do you want to send me away?"
“This is your home, you can stay here if you want. I’m just reminding you that your parents might not be happy if they knew you were living with me.”
Lu Yuyang is Lu Yuyang, and his parents are his parents.
They were just together, not married, so she didn't care what his parents did, as long as they didn't cause a scene in front of her.
“They haven’t adapted to this world yet, they’re too anxious. As long as I’m strong enough, those things won’t happen anymore. Xixi, I’ll make things clear to them and not let them bother you.”
"Okay, as long as you can handle it." Then, she pushed his hard chest, trying to create some distance: "I'm covered in dust, I'll go wash up first."
Before he could finish speaking, his body suddenly felt light!
Lu Yuyang's strong arms reached under her knees and back, easily lifting her up in his arms.
"Together."
He lowered his head and quickly pecked her slightly parted lips, a sly yet satisfied smile playing on his lips, before striding toward the small, sparkling clean bathroom that he had prepared beforehand.
Lu Yuyang closed the bathroom door with his foot, instantly making the space smaller and more private.
He put Josie down, but didn't let go; instead, he trapped her between himself and the cold, tiled wall.
