Josie felt her breath catch in her throat as he stared at the deep, knowing eyes behind his glasses.
His fingertips gently stroked her slightly furrowed brow.

But his hand remained as gentle as ever, lightly stroking her cheek. "Be a good girl and rest here until I come back."
He withdrew his hand, straightened his slightly wrinkled shirt cuffs, turned and strode toward the door. The heavy blast door closed and locked silently behind him.
The only sounds in the lab were the low hum of the instruments and Josie's own heartbeat.
The restraints were soft yet strong, restricting her movements.
She forced herself to calm down, her mind racing.
Before being hypnotized and brought to the Lu family, she had tried her best to tear off a button from her coat, clutching it tightly in her hand, attempting to leave a clue.
Later, when I was in a daze, I didn't know where I lost it... Now it seems that this button was very likely dropped near the laboratory and found by Lu Yuyang!
Outside the laboratory, under the bright corridor lights.
Lu Yuyang was like a sharp blade drawn from its sheath, exuding a suppressed chill.
He stood straight, his eyes sharp, staring at Fu Jinxing as he walked out of the blast door.

“That’s right.” Fu Jinxing didn’t argue. This was something many people had seen, and it could be easily found with a little investigation.
"Have you met my girlfriend, Josie?" His gaze was scrutinizing as it fell on his refined and handsome face.
"No."
"Someone saw my father send people to take my girlfriend away, and then you went to my house. I still haven't found my girlfriend. Professor Fu, could you give me some guidance?"
His gaze was like a tangible icicle, trying to pierce through Fu Jinxing's gentle and refined appearance.
Fu Jinxing pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses, his expression impeccable, with only a hint of surprise and concern: "Captain Lu, I'm looking for your father to apply for the purchase of several workstations and servers that the laboratory urgently needs. It's purely official business."
His tone was calm, and his clear eyes met Lu Yuyang's scrutinizing gaze, "Xixi... what happened to her? How did she disappear?"
That concern seemed to come from the heart.
Lu Yuyang frowned, his gaze sweeping back and forth across Fu Jinxing's face, trying to catch the slightest flaw.
However, the other party's expression showed only openness and doubt, revealing nothing.
This perfection, however, only fueled the growing doubts in Lu Yuyang's heart, which spread like wildfire.
"You really didn't take her away?" Lu Yuyang took a step forward, an invisible chill spreading out, making the temperature in the corridor seem to drop several degrees.

He paused, then gave the order to leave: "If there's nothing else, please leave. Don't interfere with my work."
He knew that these foreign superhumans would strictly follow his instructions to carry out their missions until the experimental results were obtained.
As expected, Lu Yuyang was blocked outside and unable to make any progress.
"Walk on your own, or do you want us to help you?"
The outsider with superpowers looked at Lu Yuyang arrogantly.
Lu Yuyang's fists clenched so tightly at his sides that the buttons in his palms almost dug into his flesh.
He stared intently at Fu Jinxing's unfathomable eyes hidden behind his glasses, then glanced at the menacing, powerful-looking outsiders with supernatural abilities outside the laboratory.

Fu Jinxing watched Lu Yuyang disappear at the end of the corridor. His eyes behind his glasses flickered for a moment before returning to normal. He turned around, swiped open the blast door, and plunged back into that cold, firmly controlled domain.
