Chapter 111 I Don't Believe You

Chapter 111 I Don't Believe You

He ignored Lu Yuyang's guard, his gaze piercing through him and locking firmly on Qiao Xi, his voice calm and unwavering: "Of all the people in the entire laboratory, the one you absolutely cannot take away is her."

After saying this, he turned his head slightly.

His gaze finally settled on Lu Yuyang's tense face, his gentle eyes flashing with cold light. "Lu Yuyang, your father has already decided to end your relationship with Xixi. It's over between you two. Or are you going to bring her out and go through this again?"

"My father doesn't represent me!" Lu Yuyang exuded a chilling aura, causing the temperature in the corridor to plummet. "Fu Jinxing! I don't want to fight you here. For the sake of you being Xixi's neighbor, get out of the way!"

Fu Jinxing, however, seemed to have heard a joke, and a very faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.

His gaze turned to Josie, "Josie, come here."

The voice remained gentle, yet it seemed to contain an irresistible power.

Qiao Xi looked into Fu Jinxing's unfathomable eyes, which at this moment only reflected her figure.

Lu Yuyang's firm back did not yield an inch.

She lowered her eyes slightly, sighed inwardly, and had already made her choice.

“Brother Jinxing,” she tried to make her voice sound calm and natural, “I know you mean well. But I can’t keep troubling you here. You still have so many important experiments to complete. I… I’ll leave with him now. Thank you for taking care of me before.”

As she spoke, she gently tugged at Lu Yuyang's sleeve, signaling him to hurry up and leave.

"Leave with him?" Fu Jinxing chuckled, a hint of barely perceptible anger in his voice. "Xixi, tell me, where can you go? Since Minister Lu has made his decision, he won't tolerate you staying by Lu Yuyang's side."

Josie knew she probably couldn't stay in this safe zone any longer.

She just couldn't say it to Lu Yuyang's face.

Seeing that she remained silent, Fu Jinxing turned to look at Lu Yuyang, "Lu Yuyang, tell me, can you protect her every moment? Can you guarantee that her father's influence won't reach you? Can you guarantee that next time, she won't be 'disappeared' silently?"

These words struck Lu Yuyang's heart like a heavy hammer.

Every word Fu Jinxing uttered was a cold, hard truth.

"I failed to protect her last time, but I won't do it again."

“I don’t believe you,” Fu Jinxing said bluntly.

"Then I'll have to offend you!"

Lu Yuyang no longer hesitated, his eyes flashing with cold light!

Several sharp ice spikes materialized out of thin air, carrying a bone-chilling cold, and shot towards Fu Jinxing like arrows released from a bow.

He held back; the ice spikes were aimed at Fu Jinxing's joints and escape routes, intended to force him back rather than kill him.

However, although Fu Jinxing was powerless, this was his territory.

The doors on both sides of the corridor slid open instantly, and two superhumans who were already prepared pounced out like ghosts.

A person's hands glowed with an earthy yellow light, and a heavy rock shield instantly appeared in front of Fu Jinxing. Ice spikes struck the shield, producing a dull cracking sound.

The other person let out a low roar, his figure suddenly blurred, and he rushed straight at Lu Yuyang with afterimages.

At the same time, several concealed nozzles on the ceiling and floor opened instantly, spraying out a large amount of viscous, potent anesthetic gas with a pungent odor!

The ground suddenly became as thick and muddy as a swamp, greatly restricting Lu Yuyang's movement.

Lu Yuyang had to deal with the extremely fast wind-type ability users, hold his breath to resist the anesthetic gas, and maintain his balance on the muddy ground, which made it difficult for him to use his ice-type ability.

Ice walls and ice spikes kept appearing, but they were neutralized by the opponent's coordinated attacks.

Soon, he was cornered, with several bloody marks on his body, and his breathing became rapid due to inhaling a small amount of anesthetic gas.

Seeing Lu Yuyang in danger, Qiao Xi knew that Lu Yuyang couldn't take her away alone with so many superpowered people and the laboratory's traps.

"Brother Jinxing, I'm not leaving. Let him go."

Before Fu Jinxing could speak, Lu Yuyang turned his head and said, "Xixi."

Fu Jinxing raised his hand, and the attack stopped instantly.

Josh didn't look at him, but walked over to Lu Yuyang.

"You go first."

Lu Yuyang held her hand tightly, saying, "I'll take this chance and maybe I can take you away."

Josie shook her head. Even if he could, Lu Yuyang would be seriously injured.

She is not in any danger here, and Fu Jinxing can't keep injecting her with suppressants indefinitely.

Once her powers are restored, no one will be able to control her.

"You go first. Trust me, as long as my powers are restored, I can leave."

Seeing that Lu Yuyang was still frowning and silent, she gave him a push, "Trust me, I'll find a way to escape!"

Fu Jinxing also gave the order at the opportune moment, "Please ask Captain Lu to leave."

After saying that, the two superhumans stepped forward and separated Lu Yuyang and Qiao Xi.

Lu Yuyang stared at Qiao Xi, clenching his fists.

"Wait for me." He squeezed out the two words through gritted teeth, gave Josie a deep look, and then turned and left.

During this time, he will deal with matters concerning his family and the Su family. If Qiao Xi has not come out after a while, he will use his authority in the safe zone to force Fu Jinxing to hand her over!

Lu Yuyang, radiating a chilling aura, disappeared through the laboratory entrance, glancing back every few steps.

The corridor was a mess. Fu Jinxing waved his hand, and several assistants came forward to clean up the mess.

He walked step by step toward Josie, who was standing amidst the chaos.

Her face was once again covered with that warm, jade-like outer layer.

He took off his white lab coat and gently draped it over Josie's thin shoulders, shielding her from the coldness of the laboratory.

"Were you startled?" His voice softened as he looked up to smooth her slightly disheveled hair.

Josie subconsciously tilted her head, and Fu Jinxing's hand froze in mid-air.

His fingers tightened slightly, and he didn't try to touch her again. He simply said gently, "Let's go. It's too messy here. I'll take you back to your room to rest."

His tone was so natural that it was as if the fierce conflict that had just occurred had never happened.

He led Josie back to the comfortably furnished lounge.

He poured her a glass of warm water himself and handed it to her. Josh was indeed a little thirsty, so she took it and drank it.

He sat on the chair by the bed, rambling on about some trivial things in the lab.

After listening for a while, Qiao Xi couldn't help but look up at him, "Brother Jinxing, aren't you busy?"

Fu Jinxing's gaze lingered on her face.

"I was too busy before, so busy that I missed the most important things, but it's not too late now."

Josie held her water glass, avoiding his gaze.

Fu Jinxing was not angry, and continued to gently tell her about some things that had happened in the past few years.

With this meticulous care and seemingly casual conversation, he firmly kept her within his sight and aura, gently but firmly declaring his ownership.
