Chapter 201 Doing Nothing Else...
"Well, I won't do anything else..." Although he said that, his hands were anything but still moving.
Josie thought about his long-standing forbearance, bit her lip to suppress her own feelings, but did not push him away.
As their feelings for each other deepened, neither of them noticed a figure not far away.
Looking at the two figures embracing tightly behind the tree, their breaths mingling, Lu Yuyang felt a surge of bitterness and anger rush to his head.
He could almost picture Shen Han savoring the same sweetness that he, too, craved.
His rationality snapped instantly, and he almost instinctively wanted to ruin Shen Hanqian's "good deed".
He suddenly turned around and shouted to the fat man and the others who were resting not far away, "Something's wrong! It looks like zombies are creeping over there!"
"What? Where? Where?" Upon hearing this, the fat man and the others immediately jumped up in alarm, grabbed their weapons, and nervously surrounded the direction Lu Yuyang pointed, conducting a thorough search.
However, after circling the big tree and the nearby bushes several times, they didn't see a single zombie.
"Brother Yang, no? Are you seeing things?" The fat man scratched his head, looking at Lu Yuyang with a puzzled expression.
"Keep looking, maybe it's hidden somewhere nearby." He said this, but his eyes remained fixed on the direction of the big tree.
He had just retreated to a position outside, where he couldn't see directly what was happening inside, but he knew that the two people hadn't left yet.
Shen Han and Qiao Xi had already separated due to the commotion outside. As the footsteps of Fatty and the others approached, Shen Han stepped out first.
"There are no zombies here, I just searched."
The fat man and his group paused, then turned to search other nearby areas.
Josie's alluring blush had not completely faded, her lips looked particularly moist and swollen, and her eyes still held a hint of lingering daze.
Shen Han's face was frosty as he glanced at Lu Yuyang, his eyes filled with displeasure at being interrupted and a clear warning. He knew very well that Lu Yuyang was deliberately messing with him.
The fat man and the others split up and searched the surrounding area before returning to report: "Boss, there are no zombies around."
Lu Yuyang hummed in response, calmly meeting Shen Han's gaze. "It might just be a rustling of leaves; I might have misread it."
Josie coughed lightly, a little awkwardly, trying to make her voice sound calm and even: "Since you're alright and have rested enough, let's get ready to leave."
She was the first to walk out, avoiding the probing gazes of the crowd.
Shen Han walked behind her, his gaze meeting Lu Yuyang's. The two men scrutinized each other, neither backing down.
The team set off again.
Lu Yuyang quickened his pace and came to Qiao Xi's side, walking alongside her.
He remained silent for a moment, but finally couldn't hold back. He lowered his voice and said accusingly, "Xixi, I saw it just now."
Josie paused almost imperceptibly for a moment, then resumed her normal pace.
She glanced at Lu Yuyang, her eyes calm, even with a hint of frankness: "Yes, it's just as you see it. Shen Han is also my man."
She admitted it directly, without any concealment or excuse.
Lu Yuyang felt as if he had been pricked by a needle, his heart aching and throbbing.
He gritted his teeth, finally closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and sighed helplessly, "Couldn't you... even just lie to me for once, or even just coax me?"
Even knowing the answer, I still crave a little false comfort.
Suddenly, there was silence.
Lu Yuyang was feeling strange and wanted to turn his head to look at her, but suddenly felt Qiao Xi's fingers, which he was quietly holding in his palm, gently tickle his palm.
That subtle movement, like a feather, gently brushed against his heart, bringing an indescribable tingling and itching sensation.
"What... are you doing?" Lu Yuyang's Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice involuntarily became a few decibels lower and hoarse.
Josie suddenly moved closer to him, standing on tiptoe, her warm breath brushing against his ear, her voice carrying a hint of mischievous laughter: "Didn't you want me to coax you?"
Her almost provocative actions and words were like a needle, instantly puncturing the sour and stifling feeling in Lu Yuyang's heart.
He gripped her fingers even tighter in his palm, his tone still carrying a hint of resentment: "You can't coax her like this."
Josie knew in her heart that, from their perspective, she was hardly a "good woman".
Therefore, she didn't think Lu Yuyang had done anything wrong.
At this moment, she was unusually patient and asked softly, "Well, how would you like me to coax you?"
While Shen Han was walking a few steps ahead, cautiously observing the surroundings, Lu Yuyang suddenly stopped, turned to face Qiao Xi, and without saying a word, pulled her tightly into his arms, then quickly kissed her lips.
They even ground it down heavily.
"There are people ahead!" Josie reminded him, snapping out of her daze.
Lu Yuyang didn't intend to do anything at this moment; he kissed her and then let go.
“Stay with me in the safe zone,” he said, looking into her slightly surprised eyes, his voice low and earnest. “Once I’ve dealt with the backlog of things I have, we can set off together.”
He made specific requests, wanting some time that was just for them.
Josie hesitated for a moment.
This request is not excessive; it's just a matter of delaying the departure for a while, but the crystal cores in hand need to be sent back as soon as possible.
She looked at Chen Han in front of her, thought for a moment, and then nodded in agreement, "Okay."
Seeing that she agreed, Lu Yuyang couldn't help but smile: "You've agreed, so you can't go back on your word."
Perhaps because of Josh's promise, Lu Yuyang's mood improved significantly during the rest of the journey.
Although an invisible competition still exists between them and Shen Han, the tense atmosphere has eased somewhat, and at least on the surface, peace has been maintained.

“We’re almost there,” Lu Yuyang whispered to Qiao Xi during a break. “The energy pool is nearby, about half a day’s journey. Do you want to go check it out? If not, we can take another route back to the safe zone.”
After thinking for a moment, Josie decided that since they had enough crystal cores and weren't in a hurry to travel, they nodded and said, "Let's go, there's no rush now."
The group quickly started a fire and cooked some hot porridge. After eating, they continued their journey.
After walking for more than three hours, they finally arrived at an area that had been cordoned off by Lu Yuyang's men with simple barriers and warning signs.
As they approached the blockade line, they heard a heated argument.
A high-end, luxurious off-road RV, completely out of place in the post-apocalyptic environment, was parked in front of them, standing out conspicuously.
A woman dressed in an elegant dress, with a sweet but clearly impatient voice, was yelling: "Get out of the way! We're going through here! If you don't move, my men won't show you any mercy!"
That voice... it seems somewhat familiar.
