Chapter 245 Stop fooling around

Chapter 245 Stop fooling around

She gasped for breath, like a fish out of water, her chest heaving violently.

"Brother Jinxing!" she whispered, her voice trembling with breathlessness and embarrassment, "The delivery guy is here! You...you stop messing around!"

The person behind her was panting. He gently pinched her waist before reluctantly letting go.

Fu Jinxing's figure was revealed. Looking at Qiao Xi, whose face was as beautiful as a peach blossom and whose eyes were sparkling, he closed his eyes briefly and said, "Let's go eat first."

The people outside were still waiting, and she didn't have time to say much to them.

She quickly put on her soft loungewear, casually gathered her still-damp long hair behind her shoulders, took a deep breath to calm the lingering blush on her face, and then went to open the door.

Standing outside the door were the base's logistics personnel, pushing a food cart with several light side dishes she usually liked and a bowl of steaming meat porridge, the aroma of which was irresistible.

"Miss Qiao, your dinner." The other person respectfully handed over the tray.

"Thank you, you've worked hard." Josie took the heavy tray, made her voice sound natural, and even smiled as she exchanged a few pleasantries with the other person about the weather and the base's recent situation before politely closing the door.

Turning around, she saw that Fu Jinxing had already come out of the bathroom.

Josie had his clothes here, and he changed into a dark gray loungewear set, which made him look less aloof and distant from the laboratory and more casual and relaxed at home.

He walked up to her naturally, took the tray from her hands, and his fingertips brushed against the back of her hand, as if rekindling a flame.

"Xixi, come here, let's eat first." Fu Jinxing's voice was a little hoarse. He placed the tray on the small table, pulled out a chair, but his gaze remained fixed on her.

Josie took a deep breath; she was indeed starving. She obediently walked over, sat down, and picked up a spoon to sip her porridge.

However, the intense gaze from across the table was impossible to ignore, making her lose her appetite.

"Brother Jinxing, aren't you going to eat?" she asked, looking at the man sitting opposite her.

"I've already eaten," Fu Jinxing replied, leaning back slightly in his chair, his gaze still lingering on her face.

From her slightly flushed earlobes to her lips that twitched gently as she chewed, and then to her slender neck...

His Xixi, without him even realizing it, had quietly transformed from that bright and lively young girl into a woman whose every move exuded an unconscious charm, like a fully ripe fruit waiting to be picked, constantly tempting him.

Josie was stared at like that, so she couldn't eat slowly.

After quickly finishing his meal, he picked up a handkerchief and wiped his mouth.

Just as she was about to say something, Fu Jinxing stood up, bent down without a word, and picked her up in his arms.

Josie instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.

"After you finish eating, it's my turn."

After Fu Jinxing finished speaking with a smile, he gently placed her on the soft bed.

He then leaned down, bracing his arms beside her, casting her into his shadow, his hot breath washing over her.

In her confused state, Qiao Xi suddenly came to her senses and raised her hand to block his pressing chest. "No, Brother Jinxing... wait!"

Fu Jin paused, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes, but he continued to look at her patiently.

Josie patted her stomach with one hand, "This... will put pressure on my stomach."

Fu Jinxing was slightly taken aback, and didn't understand for a moment.

But the next second, he suddenly remembered something.

Just now in the bathroom, the waist of the woman I touched with my palm was still slender, but her lower abdomen seemed... slightly more protruding and softer than I remembered.

He initially thought she had gained some weight from working so hard outside, and he was even pleased about it...

At that moment, all the details came together, and an astonishing guess exploded in his mind!

He immediately straightened up, no longer in a domineering position, but kneeling by the bedside. His gaze, like the most precise scanner, was fixed on Josie's lower abdomen, and his voice carried a hint of tentative joy, "Josie... are you pregnant?"

This matter couldn't be kept secret in the first place, and Josie didn't intend to keep it a secret forever.

However, she herself could not be sure who the father of the child in her womb was.

She subconsciously covered her slightly protruding belly with her hand, her gaze lowered slightly, "So... we need to be careful."

After a brief silence, Josie felt the mattress next to her sink in.

Fu Jinxing did not press her for answers as she had expected. He simply lay down next to her, stretched out his arm, and gently wrapped it around her waist, resting his chin lightly on the top of her head.

His lips brushed against her earlobe, his breath warm, his voice filled with indescribable excitement and joy, even with a rare touch of childishness: "Xixi is amazing... I'm going to be a dad."

Qiao Xi's body stiffened slightly. "But... Brother Jinxing, he may not be yours."

This is an undeniable fact; he was not the only man in her life.

However, the next second, Fu Jinxing tightened his arms, lowered his head, and precisely captured her lips.

This kiss was different from the previous one, which was urgent and aggressive. Instead, it was unusually gentle and tender, full of pity and comfort, as if it wanted to kiss away all her negative emotions.

When the kiss ended, his forehead rested against hers, their noses touched, and their breaths mingled.

He looked into her slightly watery eyes and said in a solemn and firm tone, "Xixi, as long as it's your child, it's mine. I will treat it as my own and give it everything."

This resounding promise, like a warm current, instantly soothed Josie's anxiety.

Men may tolerate her, but they may not be able to treat other people's children as their own.

But Jinxing said she believed he could really do it.

A lump formed in her throat, and she nestled into his arms.

The two embraced quietly, whispering to each other, the atmosphere warm and tender.

However, as time passed, the heat of their bodies and the friction of their close proximity gradually intensified the ambiguity in the air.

Fu Jinxing's hands began to wander restlessly over her waist and back, his lips brushing lightly against her neck, his breathing noticeably heavier.
