Chapter 252 Brother Yuyang

Chapter 252 Brother Yuyang

Lu Yuyang's Adam's apple bobbed. He forced himself to harden his heart and avoid her captivating gaze, but his voice softened involuntarily: "Your stomach is sensitive during pregnancy, so you can't eat raw, cold, or spicy food. Xixi, be good, just bear with it."

When the hard approach didn't work, Josie immediately changed tactics.

She loosened her grip on his clothes and leaned closer, her soft body almost pressed against his arm. She tilted her face up, her warm breath deliberately brushing against his chin.

One hand slid restlessly to his firm abdomen, and through the thin cotton T-shirt, the fingertips drew circles lightly, feeling the taut muscle lines below.

"Brother Yuyang..." she called softly and seductively, like a feather brushing against the heart, "You'd better... just let me have a little bit, okay?"

Lu Yuyang's body froze instantly.

He could clearly feel the heat and soft touch from her fingertips, and her repeated calls of "Brother Yuyang" made his heart race and his blood rush to a certain place.

He grabbed her small, fiery hand, his voice already noticeably hoarse and suppressed: "Xixi... don't be naughty... you know I can't do anything to you right now... don't provoke me..."

His eyes were dark, churning with aroused desire and helpless restraint.

Josie, noticing his taut jawline and bobbing Adam's apple, seized the opportunity, tiptoed, and quickly pecked his tightly pursed lips. Then, like a kitten that had successfully stolen some cream, she looked at him slyly and continued to coax him, "Then let me have a little, or I'll really faint from the heat..."

Looking at her flushed cheeks and the fine beads of sweat on her forehead, and then meeting her coquettish eyes that were determined to get what she wanted, the string of "principle" in Lu Yuyang's heart finally snapped.

In the end, he couldn't bring himself to disappoint her, especially given her "ruthless" offensive.

He took a deep breath, as if making an incredibly difficult decision, and compromised, saying, "I can only eat a little bit, and I can't let Fu Jinxing and the others know."

“Understood! Brother Yuyang…” Qiao Xi immediately beamed, her eyes sparkling like stars.

Lu Yuyang looked at the alluring woman, who was like a vixen, and was completely helpless.

He shook his head helplessly yet affectionately, turned and went to the kitchen, quickly made a small fruit smoothie the size of a baby's fist using his supernatural ability, carefully placed it in front of her, and emphasized, "It's all you promised."

Josie eagerly took the small bowl, picked up the spoon, scooped out a tiny spoonful, and put it in her mouth.

The cool, sweet taste exploded on her tongue, dispelling the heat in her stomach. She squinted her eyes contentedly and let out a sigh of pleasure, like a cat that had finally been satisfied.

Lu Yuyang stood aside, watching her look so happy and content with just a little bit of shaved ice. His heart felt like it was being brushed by the softest feather, both itchy and warm.

Her slightly narrowed eyes and the upturned corners of her mouth after getting what she wanted made him unable to look away.

He leaned down, bracing one hand on the back of the sofa, trapping Josie between himself and the sofa. Before Josie could react, he lowered his head and precisely captured her lips, which still carried the coolness of shaved ice and the sweetness of fruit.

He gently caressed her lips, as if savoring the sweetest delicacy in the world.

Josie was taken aback for a moment, then relaxed, reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, responding to him warmly.

When the kiss ended, both of them were a little out of breath.

Lu Yuyang pressed his forehead against hers, their noses touching, his voice deep and sexy: "Satisfied now? You little glutton."

Josie nestled in his arms and nodded gently. The slight irritation caused by the heat had long since been dispelled by the kiss and the satisfaction brought by the shaved ice.

"Miss Qiao, we have your supplies and a letter."

"Come in."

After putting some distance between themselves and Lu Yuyang, someone soon pushed open the door and brought in a large pile of supplies and letters.

Qiao Xi knew that Mu Yanzhou had sent her something again.

Lu Yuyang scoffed, "You're still up to no good."

Josie opened the envelope and skimmed through the pages.

The letter, as always, expressed his longing and the undying affection.

She folded the letter again and put it away, with no intention of replying.

Perhaps over time, his enthusiasm will naturally fade.

However, Mu Yanzhou's persistence exceeded her expectations. Every month, news and gifts from him would arrive without fail, rain or shine.

As her due date approached, Josie inevitably became nervous and anxious.

After all, this was her first time giving birth in two lifetimes, and in this apocalyptic world where medical care and medicine were scarce, anything could happen.

Her mood became noticeably uneasy, and the men began to reduce their tasks, handing them over to others, and taking turns staying by Josie's side to ease her anxiety.

"My due date is in seven days, Brother Jinxing, am I definitely going to give birth on that day?"

"It's not certain. It might be earlier or later. The doctors are all ready, and we'll all be with you. Xixi, don't be nervous."

She had tried her best to cope, but for some reason, she went into labor five days before her due date.

As Josie was being nervously pushed towards the delivery room by the men, she saw a familiar figure approaching quickly.

Mu Yanzhou appeared before her quickly, his face showing signs of travel fatigue, but his eyes were unusually bright. "I've been keeping track of the days, thankfully I made it in time."

He went to Josie's side and comforted her in his gentle and steady voice: "Josie, don't be afraid, I'm here. My superpower can protect you and the baby, don't be afraid!"

Mu Yanzhou's light-based recovery ability was indeed like a reassuring pill.

His arrival finally allowed Josie to relax her tense nerves.

"Okay, thank you."

"I don't want thanks." His gaze lingered on her face.

Josie knew what he was talking about, of course, but she was in so much pain that she couldn’t say anything else to him.

"Don't think about anything now, let's talk about it after you give birth safely."

Josie nodded and was wheeled into the delivery room by several doctors and nurses.

The men initially managed to maintain their composure, but when Josie let out her first cry of pain, they panicked and rushed towards the makeshift delivery room.

"Oh dear, I know you're anxious, but don't rush!" Mrs. Lu quickly stepped forward, spreading her arms to block them at the delivery room door, her eyes glaring. "Wait outside! There are already doctors and midwives inside. What kind of nonsense is it for so many grown men to squeeze in? You're just making things worse!"

After being scolded by Lu's mother, the men who were usually so powerful outside suddenly became like students who had made a mistake, and had no choice but to obediently retreat outside and wait anxiously.

No one spoke; only their heavy, disordered footsteps echoed in the corridor, clearly revealing the unease within each person.
