Chapter 253 Son, hello, I'm your father

Chapter 253 Son, hello, I'm your father

Josie's suppressed groans and cries of pain gradually drifted from the delivery room.

Each sound was like a heavy hammer blow to the hearts of the men outside the door.

Feng Ye seemed rooted to the spot, his jawline taut; Fu Jinxing leaned against the wall, his gaze behind his glasses fixed on the tightly closed door; Shen Han's face was grim, resisting the urge to burst through the door and go in to be with her; Xie Jue was like an uneasy young beast, his lips tightly pursed; Shen Han's brows were deeply furrowed, his fists clenching unconsciously; Lu Yuyang's anxiety was written all over his face, pacing back and forth without stopping.

In the early hours of the morning, the commotion inside continued, and the baby had not yet been born.

Lu Yuyang finally couldn't hold back any longer. He grabbed his mother's hand as she came out to change the hot water, his hoarse voice filled with anxiety: "Mom! How is Xixi? Why hasn't she been born yet?"

Looking at her son and the young people staring at her expectantly, Lu's mother saw that their eyes were bloodshot and their heartfelt worry was genuine.

She sighed and comforted her, "Don't panic, this is normal for the first pregnancy. It takes time. Xixi is very strong, everything is fine."

Seeing how much these young people cared for Xixi, Lu's mother was filled with mixed emotions. Oh well, children and grandchildren have their own blessings.

She quickly changed the water and went back into the delivery room.

However, as time passed, Josie in the delivery room had exhausted all her strength. Even her painful groans had become weaker. Her face was as pale as paper, and her hair, soaked with sweat, clung to her forehead, making her look exceptionally fragile.

The men outside the door listened to the gradually fading sounds inside, their hearts pounding in their chests.

Feng Ye was the first to lose his composure, walking over and knocking on the door, his voice unusually stern with worry: "What's going on inside? Why hasn't she given birth yet? How is she?"

The delivery room door was hurriedly opened, and the doctor walked out with a grave expression, speaking rapidly: "Miss Qiao is too exhausted. Although the baby is in the correct position, it's too large, and she can't push anymore. If this continues, both mother and child will be in danger! An immediate cesarean section is necessary! But..."

The doctor glanced around, his tone filled with helplessness and anxiety, "The current conditions... there's no sterile operating room, insufficient anesthesia, and the risk of postoperative infection is extremely high..."

The doctor's words instantly plunged everyone's hearts into despair.

Medical conditions in the post-apocalyptic world are so rudimentary that a cesarean section sounds like a gamble.

Just then, Mu Yanzhou stepped forward, his tone calm and firm, carrying a reassuring power: "It's alright, let me in. My light-based abilities happen to be able to heal and recover. I can do my best to maintain her vital signs during the surgery and promote rapid wound healing afterward, minimizing the risk of infection. You just need to focus on completing the surgery quickly, and leave the subsequent recovery to me."

His words were like a ray of light in the darkness, instantly dispelling the gloom that had enveloped the men's hearts.

They looked at Mu Yanzhou almost simultaneously, their eyes filled with gratitude and an indescribable complex emotion.

"Mu Yanzhou... thank you!" Feng Ye took a deep breath and said solemnly.

Fu Jinxing and Shen Han also gave him grateful looks.

Mu Yanzhou shook his head, his gaze sweeping over the closed door of the delivery room, his voice low but clear: "No need to thank me. Xixi is also the woman I love, and I will never let anything happen to her."

After saying that, he didn't linger and quickly followed the doctor into the delivery room.

Inside the delivery room, Josie's consciousness was already somewhat blurred. Sensing someone approaching, she barely opened her eyes and saw Mu Yanzhou. A hint of barely perceptible embarrassment appeared on her pale face as she weakly stammered, "You... how did you get in..."

She must look incredibly disheveled right now, especially since she wasn't even dressed.

Mu Yanzhou didn't mind. He quickly walked to the bedside, sat down next to her, and leaned down to place a gentle and precious kiss on her sweat-dampened forehead. His voice was so tender it could melt water: "Don't be afraid, Xixi, I'm here with you. You're too tired. Get some sleep, and leave the rest to the doctor and me. When you wake up, the baby will be safe and sound by your side. I promise, I won't leave you with any unsightly scars."

Josie's biggest worry was that she hadn't been able to give birth for so long, and if she needed a C-section, the conditions wouldn't be right. What would happen to her baby?

Mu Yanzhou's special ability can play a significant role at this moment.

His calm voice and the powerful confidence in his words were like the best tranquilizer.

Josie's tense nerves finally relaxed, and extreme fatigue and drowsiness surged up like a tide. She softly hummed in agreement, her eyelids closed heavily, and she fell into a deep sleep almost instantly.

Mu Yanzhou held her hand tightly the whole time. The doctors were focused on performing an cesarean section to remove the fetus, but his eyes were always on Qiao Xi's expression, ready to help at any time.

After an unknown amount of time, a loud and vibrant baby cry pierced through the delivery room door like heavenly music!

Outside the door, the men who had been anxiously pacing like trapped beasts stopped in their tracks almost simultaneously.

They were stunned in disbelief at first, but then, immense joy and a sense of relief overwhelmed all the tension. Several tough men had tears welling up in their eyes, almost bursting into tears of joy.

"She gave birth! Xixi gave birth!" Lu Yuyang's bloodshot eyes shone brightly.

When the delivery room door opened again, Lu's mother came out carrying a tiny swaddled baby wrapped in soft, clean cotton cloth.

However, the men waiting outside only glanced at the swaddling clothes briefly before unanimously trying to bypass Lu's mother and squeeze into the delivery room to see Qiao Xi.

"Hey! What are you doing!" Lu's mother reacted quickly, blocking the doorway with her shoulder and arm, like a guardian deity. "Xixi just had surgery and is asleep from exhaustion. She needs absolute quiet! Mu is inside treating her with his supernatural abilities. You can't go in and disturb her!"

Several tall men were forced to stop when Lu's mother blocked their way. Their faces were filled with anxiety and worry, but they dared not force their way through.

Their gaze then returned to the small bundle in Lu's mother's arms.

The little guy seemed to be sleeping soundly, only his rosy, wrinkled little face was showing, like a little old man, his features were all squeezed together, and you couldn't tell what was going on at all.

Feng Ye was the first to approach, his brows furrowed, his sharp gaze sweeping back and forth across the child's face, as if trying to find some familiar outline in that blurry feature.

Fu Jinxing also pushed up his glasses and observed carefully, his eyes filled with the scrutiny of a scholar.

Lu Yuyang and Xie Jue also gathered around, and the group of grown men squeezed together, staring at the tiny baby. The atmosphere became strangely quiet for a moment.

After looking at it for a while, Feng Ye was the first to straighten up. The wrinkled little baby was completely unrecognizable.

Lu Yuyang suddenly laughed. He reached out and gently touched the baby's delicate, almost translucent cheek with his fingertips. "Son, hello, I'm your father!"

The other men all turned pale.
