Chapter Seventy-Two: The Desire to Conquer
Shen Han walked to the sofa, his expression slightly unpleasant.
"I've taken care of it; they won't bother us anymore."
Josie looked at him and smiled faintly: "You call this a solution?"
With a slight twitch of his handsome, sword-like eyebrows, before Chen Han could utter a sound, the security door was knocked on once more.
Anger crept up Shen Han's brows, and even a hint of murderous intent flashed in his eyes.
He was about to turn around when Josh grabbed his arm. "I'll do it."
As she spoke, she walked past Shen Han and headed towards the gate.
Shen Han tried to stop her, but even after he called out, Qiao Xi continued walking towards the door.
She pulled the security door open from the inside, revealing several pretty faces; they even switched to their most beautiful smiles the instant the door opened.
If it weren't for their terrible complexions, Josie would have been quite surprised by how beautiful these faces were.
But their smiles vanished the moment they saw Josie.
Some even had a strong sense of hostility in their eyes.
"We're looking for that superhuman from earlier."
"Are you sure?" Josie crossed her arms, a hint of mockery in her smile. "With me standing here, you still have a chance to live. But if he comes out, you might not be so lucky to continue living."
Actually, they weren't stupid; Shen Han's attitude towards them was nothing like that towards the men.
The intelligent woman had already discerned the goodwill in Josie's words.
"Thank you. What do you mean by 'way out of life'?" A very beautiful young woman looked at her eagerly.
"If you want to survive, there are only two paths. One is to rely on a strong person who is willing to take you in, just like you did before. The other path..."
She paused, her gaze sweeping over each pretty face. "Rely on yourselves. Most of the zombies now are unevolved, slow in speed and reaction. You can pick up weapons and fight your way to the safe zone."
"You make it sound so easy. Every street in the city is teeming with zombies. We're just ordinary people, how could we possibly get out?"
Josie shrugged. "I've said all I need to say. If you keep harassing the master here, and he wants to kill you, I won't stop him anymore."
She knew all too well how difficult it was for a woman to survive in the apocalypse, which is why she felt a little pity and stopped Shen Han.
Even in the apocalypse, there are many capable ordinary people who dare to take risks and survive by killing zombies.
But the prerequisite is to avoid encountering evolved zombies, otherwise, it will only mean certain death.
Having said that, Josie closed the door.
Shen Han stood not far from her. "You can't help them."
His words were cruel, but they were true.
Indeed, if these ordinary people cannot evolve, very few will ultimately survive in this cruel world.
But as a woman, she knows very well how difficult it is for women in this world.
She was just a little luckier than them; otherwise, she wouldn't have been much better off.
Therefore, she was willing to remind them as long as it didn't infringe on her interests.
"I didn't intend to help them, I just mentioned it. Whether they survive or not depends on their own abilities."
"Do you want to see another movie?"
"Look, why aren't you looking?"
Shen Han's life was almost the same as before the apocalypse. She had just been fighting zombies for two days and wanted to relax.
After that, without being disturbed by anyone else, Qiao Xi held the cola that Shen Han handed her, drinking it while watching, which made her feel incredibly happy.
As the movie ended, the man stood up from the sofa. "I'll go cook. What would you like to eat?"
"You can have whatever I want to eat?"
"We have chicken, duck, and fish."
Josie clicked her tongue and sighed, "Look at the kind of life you're living! It's absolutely outrageous."
A smile appeared on Shen Han's lips. "If you stay, you can live like this every day."
This was both a test and his idea.
With his abilities, he could provide her with a stable life.
Life alone is too boring; perhaps her presence makes it a little more interesting.
"I think I'll pass. My friends are in the safe zone, and I need to go back."
The faint smile slowly disappeared from Shen Han's lips. "Whatever."
As Josie watched him turn and walk into the kitchen, she naturally sensed the change in his emotions.
But she won't explain or try to salvage the situation; she'll part ways amicably.
However, this time we really owe him a lot; the amount of supernatural power stored in my body is already three times that of my previous life.
The mysterious feeling of an impending upgrade excited her greatly, and she looked forward to everything that would happen next.

The women outside the door slowly left, each with an expression of envy or jealousy on their face.
"Sister Xia, did you just see that?" The woman's gaze was still fixed on the tightly closed door of Shen Han's house.
"Yes, I see it." The woman with chestnut curly hair had a strong sense of ambition in her eyes.
The woman in the room was indeed a stunning beauty, but she was not bad either.
But they lead completely different lives.
She could see clearly that the room was clean and dust-free, and well-stocked with supplies.
Moreover, the man, despite being extremely powerful, turned away women who came to him for help.
If only I could win his favor!
She lowered her eyelids to conceal the ambition that had inadvertently slipped out.
It's alright, she still has a chance.
"This building is safe. Let's find a room to stay in first."
"What about after that? Are we really going to rush up and kill zombies ourselves?" The woman shook her head. "I don't want to. Zombies are disgusting, and if I get bitten, I'll turn into one too."
"That woman is just talking without understanding the situation. She says she relies on herself, but she clearly lives in a clean house, has an endless supply of food, and is protected by a powerful superhuman."
"Alright, that's enough. Go and see if there's anything left to eat in this building..." Qin Xia said, then turned and left first.
Josh enjoyed a blissful day in Shen Han's room, a day before the apocalypse.
At night, Shen Han stepped into the room, his gaze towards her filled with undisguised lust.
As he leaned over her, Josie pressed her hand against his chest. "I'm tired. I want to sleep tonight."
After saying that, she turned over and faced away from him.
It was like a bucket of cold water being poured over his head, but it did not extinguish the lust in Shen Han's eyes.
Instead, as he stared at her back, he felt a stronger desire to conquer her.
Josie could feel the gaze behind her. She smiled slightly and slowly closed her eyes.
She has the choice of who she wants to sleep with, when she wants to sleep with someone, or whether she doesn't want to sleep with anyone at all.
She relaxed and slept soundly, not even waking up immediately after dawn.
When she woke up, she was in an unfamiliar environment and it took her a while to sort out her thoughts.
I hugged the blanket and spaced out for a while.
Once fully awake, Josie stretched and slowly walked out of the room.
After washing myself, I ate steamed buns and drank milk.
Josie held up the milk to look at it and was surprised to find that it wasn't expired.
"There's not much left... If you want to drink some more later, I can find a cow to raise."
“No need for that,” Josie smiled slightly, quickly finished the last few bites, and then got up to leave.
"Where are you going?" Shen Han's hand holding the plate suddenly tightened.
