Chapter Sixty-Eight: Always Kissing

Chapter Sixty-Eight: Always Kissing

"And what about you? Why did you follow me? Why didn't you leave me when I was in danger?"

Lu Yuyang questioned repeatedly.

In the darkness, Josie blinked her eyelashes. "How about I leave now?"

Lu Yuyang tightened his grip, "Don't even think about it!"

Qiao Xi struggled for a moment but couldn't break free. "Lu Yuyang, my boyfriend is Feng Ye. The reason I stayed is because I don't want to see that evolved zombie get stronger. Its crystal core is also very valuable. If it weren't you staying here, I would have stayed too."

After she finished speaking, the warehouse fell into a deathly silence.

"lie,"

Lu Yuyang's presence drew closer. "You've lied to me once. This time, I'll trust my instincts. Maybe you really are worried that the evolved zombies will become stronger by eating those superhumans, but they've all left, leaving only me. You're still here."

"If you really have so much compassion, why didn't you forgive your family members who hurt you? And why did you personally kill the villager who was bitten in the cave?"

At this point, Lu Yuyang turned her body around so that she was facing him.

“Look at me and say that you really hate me and never want to see me again.”

Their eyes met, but their breaths could be heard.

The stillness evoked a sense of ambiguity yet tension.

"Hmm, I want..."

She had only uttered three words when a kiss landed, silencing her with her lips.

He slipped his fingers between hers and held her tightly.

The kiss was long and tender, and when it ended, Josie was even a little dazed.

"Lu Yuyang, what are you doing? Didn't I say..."

Before she could finish speaking, he cut her off completely.

This time, he even bit her lip until it bled.

What else do you want to say?

Josie opened her mouth and glared at him, "Lu Yuyang, you weren't like this when I first met you."

Lu Yuyang chuckled softly, "I didn't know I would turn out like this, Xixi, please don't say things that make me feel bad."

Josie's heart was also in turmoil.

She doesn't want to hurt anyone, but at the same time, she doesn't want to repeat the same mistake of being hurt by anyone.

Only by remaining unmoved and steadfast can one remain invincible.

His handsome features softened, and his fingers gently traced the corner of her eye. "I've thought a lot about this lately. You were hurt by your ex-boyfriend, so you don't believe in love anymore, right?"

You're wrong, I simply don't like you.

She spoke without the slightest hesitation, but her eyes darted elsewhere.

The joy on Lu Yuyang's face slowly disappeared. "Turn your head and look me in the eyes as you say it."

His body was so hot, and he was pressed tightly against her.

Josie took a light breath. "Okay."

After saying that, she turned her head, looked up, stared into his eyes, and said, word by word, "Lu Yuyang, I only consider you a friend."

Her eyes met his directly without any attempt to look away.

I thought Lu Yuyang would keep his distance like before, but he didn't.

He was still confined to a small space.

“To be friends…” Lu Yuyang murmured, “That works too… This is the apocalypse. As long as I live longer than Feng Ye, I still have a chance.”

"Lu Yuyang, do you want to hear what you're saying?"

"Yes, I know exactly what I'm talking about." He tightened his grip on her intertwined hand. "I thought I could let you go after leaving last time, but I overestimated myself. Since I can't forget you, then I'll stay by your side!"

He thought he was an emotionally detached person. For the first twenty years of his life, while others were busy with early romances, he buried himself in his studies.

He was surrounded by many outstanding girls, but he never felt this way.

Just as Qiao Xi was about to dissuade him, Lu Yuyang tightened his grip on her arm, his expression suddenly hardening. "Shh..."

Josie immediately stopped what she was doing and pricked up her ears to listen for any sounds.

The head slowly turned, turning towards the outside of the steel frame...

It was pitch black all around them, and they couldn't see anything.

The two remained in this stalemate for a long time before Lu Yuyang gradually relaxed, saying, "Maybe I misheard."

Josie shook her head. "Not necessarily. Wait a minute, let me shine a flashlight over there."

Lu Yuyang released her, and Qiao Xi's hand moved to the side.

The moment her hand touched the flashlight, Lu Yuyang pulled her back.

At the same time, ice spikes shot out from his palm.

Josie immediately turned on her flashlight, and the light instantly illuminated a large area in front of them.

Upon seeing the situation ahead, Lu Yuyang almost immediately put Qiao XZ behind him.

Under the flashlight beam, thick wisps of black mist hung in front of the steel frame.

The ice spikes he had just fired were completely enveloped in black mist, and a moment later, they all fell to the ground with a "thud".

Lu Yuyang knew that if this was an evolved zombie, it would be even more difficult to deal with than the previous one.

"Josh, transform!"

The black mist outside churned like boiling water, seemingly waiting for an opportunity to launch an attack at any moment.

Lu Yuyang tensed up, continuously shooting out ice spikes in his hand, trying to force back the black mist.

The ice cones were enveloped by clumps of black mist and fell off one after another, making a crisp sound.

After repeated attacks, Lu Yuyang's attacks failed to cause any damage to the opponent.

The black mist spread wider and wider, seemingly about to envelop the entire steel frame.

Just then, Josie spoke up: "Wait..."

The black mist that was trying to squeeze through the gaps in the steel frame did indeed pause for a moment.

Lu Yuyang completely shielded Qiao Xi behind him and said in a low voice, "Transform quickly, try to escape as many as you can."

Josh nodded. "Okay."

After he finished speaking, it turned into a piece of paper right under his nose and floated out through the crack.

Lu Yuyang breathed a slight sigh of relief and was about to concentrate on facing the enemy when suddenly, a figure flashed in front of him.

Josie transformed into human form and stood outside the steel frame, while the black mist was baring its fangs and claws in front of her.

"Josie! Get out of the way!" Lu Yuyang's clear voice was almost cracking.

Josie didn't turn around, but instead raised her hand to touch the black mist.

The black mist, which had been terrifyingly powerful, suddenly recoiled when she reached out to touch it.

"Why are you hiding?" Josie raised an eyebrow. "Were you trying to scare us?"

Lu Yuyang walked up to Qiao Xi in a few steps. "Are you talking to it?"

Josie glanced at him sideways. "Yeah, don't worry, he's probably an ability user like us."

"are you sure?"

It was just a cloud of black mist, and Lu Yuyang couldn't confirm it at all, especially since he had never seen such a superpower before.

"Yes, I'm sure."

After Josie finished speaking to him, she turned to look at the black mist ahead. "Can you do me a favor?"

The black mist remained silent. "We're all human, could you lend a hand and pry this steel frame apart?"

Josie's voice faded away, and the black mist did not respond immediately, resulting in a stalemate.

Josie wasn't in a hurry. She watched the black mist churn and surge, like boiling black water, carrying an extremely strong sense of oppression.
