Chapter 1 Kill the Holy Mother First in the Apocalypse

What is the first rule in the apocalypse?

Ample supplies? Superior strength? Or a cautious nature?

No, none of that! These are merely basic conditions for survival in the apocalypse, not principles! What are principles?

Simply put, when faced with difficult choices in a post-apocalyptic world, you must prioritize your first principle and not be swayed by external forces.

[For a simple example, if your team of survivors encounters two victims surrounded by zombies, and one member of your team wants to rescue them, what would you do?]

[After weighing the pros and cons, you decide that the excessive number of zombies... would pose a risk of injury or death to your team members, and therefore choose not to rescue them; then that kind-hearted team member berates you for being too cold-blooded, directly questioning whether you are a qualified leader! What choice do you make?]

[Should we observe the victims' surroundings, minimize our own risks during the rescue, or reprimand the kind team member and kick him out of the team? Or perhaps step down and let him become the team leader?]

No, I choose to kill this teammate.

【Why? 】

Because my first rule for the apocalypse is—kill the Holy Mother first!

"Why wait to kill this kind of person? We clearly said there was a risk of injury or death during the rescue, yet this guy still shamelessly demanded that the captain rescue the victims? Isn't he just a complete saint?"

"Moreover, the appearance of these two victims was too sudden. What if it was a trap set by other survivor groups? They were just waiting to be surrounded by zombies and then reap the benefits. It would be an injustice if these people didn't die!"

Zhang Hao closed the post he had just replied to, muttered a couple of things under his breath, and then planned to lie down and take a nap.

At that moment, several shouts came from outside the door.

"Mr. Zhang, the goods have arrived today. Please come and inspect them."

"They're here, they're here."

Zhang Hao immediately perked up and quickly went outside.

Outside, there were piles of boxes containing all sorts of goods, including Farmer's Three Fists instant noodles, Kangshifu instant noodles, canned fruit, chicken, duck, fish, beef, pork, fruits and vegetables, and more.

"Mr. Zhang, according to your purchase list, we are pre-ordering 30 tons of rice and flour, 1,000 boxes of Kangshifu instant noodles, and 40 tons of Nongfu Spring water."

The female manager of the supplier chuckled and said, "Thirty tons of Jinlong vegetable oil, ten tons of chicken, duck, fish, pork and other meats, etc., are all here... a total of 500,000 yuan worth of goods. Would you like to take a look?"

"No need, we've been cooperating for so many years, I trust you. Just put the goods in the warehouse on the second floor... Put the fruits and vegetables separately, don't let them get crushed," Zhang Hao instructed, shaking his head.

"Okay, don't worry."

The person in charge smiled even more enthusiastically and immediately began instructing everyone to transport the goods.

A full hour later, all the goods were placed. The person in charge asked, "Mr. Zhang, the goods are all placed... shall we continue to deliver them according to the list tomorrow?"

“Yes, the list remains the same.” Zhang Hao nodded.

"Okay, let's come again tomorrow..."

The person in charge left with his men, but his subordinates were very puzzled on the way.

"Manager Liu, do you think this guy is stupid? Even if he runs a fresh food supermarket, with his scale, he can only handle 40,000 to 50,000 yuan worth of goods a day at most. Now he's ordering ten times that amount every day... How can he possibly sell that?"

"Exactly. Other things are fine, since they have a shelf life of several years, but fruits and vegetables spoil in just a few days, right? And Zhang Hao laid off most of the supermarket staff a month ago. What do you think he was thinking?"

"They're hoarding supplies and laying off employees. It feels so weird, like the world is about to end."

Manager Liu chuckled lightly, nonchalantly saying, "Why do you care what they're after? Maybe they just have too much money to burn? We don't understand the world of the rich. So what if it's the end of the world? We'll still make the money we need to make."

"The manager is right."

"..."

At the supermarket entrance, Zhang Hao watched as the supplier's people left.

He did indeed lay off eight supermarket employees a month ago, leaving only a young man named Fang Ping, and paid him a monthly salary of 10,000 yuan.

Seeing the boss walk in, Fang Ping said respectfully, "Boss, I'm going to check the goods."

"Go."

Zhang Hao nodded.

Trusting the supplier is one thing, but the goods still need to be ordered as usual.

However, you can't order it in front of the other person. After all, we've been working together for so many years and we should give them some face.

Fang Ping went into the warehouse at the back, and came out after a while, honestly replying, "Boss, the goods are fine, they are exactly the same as those on the purchase list."

"That's fine. Keep an eye on the goods for me tomorrow. I have to go out for a bit," Zhang Hao said.

"Okay, boss."

Fang Ping nodded slightly, wisely refraining from asking the boss where he was going.

Zhang Hao looked at him and smiled with interest, "Aren't you curious why I'm stockpiling so much stuff?"

"I'm curious, but I won't ask," Fang Ping said in a low voice.

Why not ask?

"Because asking is pointless; the boss will tell me when he wants to."

"What if I don't intend to tell you?" Zhang Hao asked.

"That's alright, I have no parents... You're the person I trust the most, you wouldn't hurt me, otherwise you wouldn't pay me such a high salary." Fang Ping grinned foolishly.

"Silly boy, it's time to go home. We're closed today."

Zhang Hao paused for a moment, then smiled and patted Fang Ping on the shoulder, sending him away.

Then he closed the supermarket door and went up to the second floor. Looking at the mountains of various supplies piled up in the warehouse, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
