Chapter 11 Conflict Begins

Mr. Zhang?

Judging from this address, it seems to be a "familiar face" who has shopped at the supermarket before.

But upon hearing the other person's cries for help, Zhang Hao remained unmoved and instead looked to the side: "Xiao Fang, what do you think?"

Fang Ping couldn't bear it and cautiously said, "Why don't we ask her how many zombies are behind her? Has she been bitten by any zombies? If there's nothing wrong... then let's help her?"

"What if he's a talented Awakened One? We've already confirmed that we can recruit him, boss, what do you think?"

Zhang Hao looked at the raven on his shoulder: "And you?"

Raven simply said, "No, women are troublesome."

"..."

Zhang Hao didn't want to save him either.

But he decided to teach Fang Ping a lesson today.

So, as the boss, he agreed. Fang Ping asked through the door, "Miss, how many zombies are behind you? Have you been bitten by any zombies?"

"I wasn't bitten, there are only two zombies, they're coming, please open the door!"

The girl screamed repeatedly, her voice pleading.

Fang Ping opened the door, and the girl rushed in, looking flustered.

Two level-one zombies were already close by. Fang Ping used his riot shield in his left hand to knock them down, and then killed them with two slashes.

The back door was tightly closed.

The girl was in tears, clearly indicating that she had been fertilized.

"Don't worry, girl... everything's alright now," Fang Ping reassured her.

"Thank you so much, and thank you, Boss Zhang. If it weren't for you... I would really be dead."

After regaining her composure, Zhou Ruyu expressed her gratitude to them.

Fang Ping wasn't stupid; he wouldn't just trust the other party so easily. After carefully examining the girl's body and finding no bite marks, he finally felt relieved.

Although he was not afraid of the newly infected level one zombie.

But Zhou Ruyu was someone he asked his boss to save, so if something goes wrong, it will definitely anger his boss.

Fortunately, this girl should be just an ordinary person.

Zhang Hao said coldly, "No need to thank me, it has nothing to do with me. I'm asking you, where did you come from? Tell me in detail about your escape."

"I came out of Jinyue Community behind the supermarket. Since I live alone, I usually only order takeout, so I don't have much food at home. I survived all night, but I was so hungry that I ran away."

Zhou Ruyu said softly, "Fortunately, I live on the first floor, and the building I live in is very close to the gate, so the escape route is not very long."

"You escaped through the main gate? Which main gate?" Zhang Hao asked again.

"South Gate".

"Oh, are you an Awakened One?"

"What Awakened One? I don't understand what you mean."

"It's okay, I was just asking casually, don't overthink it."

Zhou Ruyu pleaded pitifully, "Could you give me some food? Boss Zhang, I'm really starving. I'll definitely repay you in the future."

"How will you repay me? With your body?" Zhang Hao asked with a mocking expression.

"..."

Zhou Ruyu was both ashamed and angry, but she still held back: "I'm sorry, I'm not that kind of person. My family is very rich. I can give you a lot of money. Is that alright?"

"Money? You think money is still useful?"

"How is it useless? Social order will be restored sooner or later. Right now, it might just be a zombie crisis in Linhai City. The situation certainly isn't that bad."

Zhou Ruyu, realizing her predicament, knew that saying these things was useless, so she could only swallow her pride and plead, "Boss Zhang, could you please give me some food? I know you're a good person, please."

"I'm not a good person. I'm not going to give you food for free. You have to prove your worth. Either go out and kill a zombie, cut off its head and bring it back, or you go hungry. The choice is yours."

Zhang Haocai didn't care whether she was hungry or not.

He does have a lot of supplies, but he has to use them sparingly.

Any survivor would come to him begging for food without paying any price. How could he expect to get food in return?

"I dare not, I am just a weak woman..."

Zhou Ruyu was almost in tears.

That aggrieved expression—anyone who didn't know better would think she'd been... well, you know.

Fang Ping couldn't stand it any longer and cautiously asked for permission: "Boss, I used my previous salary to stockpile some supplies, can I share a cup of instant noodles with her?"

"You can distribute your own supplies," Zhang Hao said without interfering.

"Thank you, boss."

Fang Ping took a cup of instant noodles from his room.

There was also a sausage, which he handed to the other person, and Zhou Ruyu expressed her gratitude repeatedly.

She even used her slender, fair arm to rub against the virgin Fang Ping, making him blush and feel flustered.

Zhang Hao's tone was harsh and left no room for refusal: "Your shout just now attracted some zombies. After they disperse, leave this place, and remember not to make a sound."

"How am I supposed to survive all by myself?"

"That's your own business."

Zhou Ruyu bit her lip and said pitifully, "Can't I stay? I can cook for you, I can do the laundry, I'm not afraid of hardship."

Zhang Hao asked again, "Are you an Awakened One?"

I don't understand what you mean.

"Never mind then."

Zhang Hao shook his head and remained silent.

"Boss, how about..."

Seeing her so miserable, Fang Ping's compassion was stirred again.

He looked at the boss, about to say something... but the boss's sharp gaze made him shut up instantly.

After slowly finishing her instant noodles, Zhou Ruyu stood up.

The roars outside had ceased, indicating that the gathered zombies had dispersed, but she showed no sign of leaving.

"What? You want me to ask you to leave?"

Zhang Hao's tone grew increasingly impatient, and he told Fang Ping to send the woman away.
