Chapter 12 Go and get rid of them

Outside the window, the sun was shining brightly, illuminating the beautiful flowers in the garden, which was out of tune with the dark apocalypse. Several zombie bodies were lying in the garden, and the blood from last night had dried up.

Butler Lin's body disappeared. Su Wan couldn't imagine his final fate.

She forced herself to finish her breakfast and then walked slowly out of the dining room. As she passed the kitchen, she heard several servants talking in hushed voices.

"It's so scary...Butler Lin..."

"Hush! He'll hear you..."

"Why is the young lady so honest? She is not..."

"Stop talking! Staying alive is more important..."

Su Wan moved back to the bedroom on the second floor with heavy steps. The servants' suppressed voices in the kitchen were still echoing in her ears, "He will hear it...", "Staying alive is the most important thing..."

She pushed the door gently and it opened, then closed it. The sunlight shone in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows and sprinkled on the soft carpet. This place was like a beautiful birdcage.

Su Wan could no longer hold on. Her body softened and she fell onto the soft bed, her face buried deep in the fragrant blanket. The clean scent lingered around her nose, but it made her feel nauseous. The breakfast she had just swallowed was churning in her stomach.

He won't touch her for now. This realization made her feel a little relieved, but it was followed by deeper despair. How long can the fake pregnancy be concealed?

As your belly becomes flatter day by day, the lie will be exposed sooner or later.

What will happen to her then? Will it be worse than Steward Lin?

Escape? The thought was extinguished as soon as it came to her mind. The distorted corpses of zombies outside the window were the best warning. If it was like this outside the villa, it would only be worse outside.

If I rush out rashly, I might become the monsters' dinner before "he" can deal with me. It's better to kill them in advance...

Not as good as what?

Su Wan suddenly sat up from the bed, her long hair hanging messily on both sides of her cheeks.

We can't just sit there and wait for death.

Damn it! Su Wan cursed fiercely in her heart. Exercise! Yes, exercise!

No matter what you have to face in the future, whether it is to escape or to deal with, a strong body is always better than the weak state you have now.

Improve your physical fitness, increase your strength and endurance. At least, if you really have to run, you can run faster and have a better chance of survival.

She threw off the quilt and stepped barefoot on the cold floor. Her room was big enough and had a treadmill and fitness equipment. It was no problem for her to do some basic physical training.

It's better to do something than nothing! So I started running! But after running for just a few minutes, I felt that my chest was short of breath, and my legs began to weaken, as if they were filled with lead.

Sweat quickly soaked her thin pajamas, which stuck to her body and made her feel very uncomfortable.

Damn it! This body is really ruined. I just ran a few steps and it's like this. You still want to run away? It's a joke!

Damn it, it’s better to run to death than to be scared to death or crushed to death!

She stared at the numbers jumping on the treadmill screen, as if she was competing with it, or with herself.

Until my body completely broke down and I collapsed to the ground, without even the strength to lift a finger.

She lay on her stomach, her chest heaving violently, and her sweat soaked the carpet.

Until Zhang Ma's voice came through the door, with her usual respectfulness: "Miss, lunch is ready."

Get up quickly and eat, otherwise that madman will come to call her.

She supported herself on the floor, her arms shaking violently, and she almost fell back several times.

It took a long time before he managed to stand up, holding on to the wall, and moved into the bathroom step by step.

The hot water poured over my head, washing away the sticky sweat and temporarily numbing the soreness in my muscles.

She quickly dried herself and changed into clean clothes. She held onto the handrail and slowly walked down the stairs. Every step she took pulled her sore muscles and caused a dull pain.

She held onto the cold carved armrests, her knuckles turning white from the exertion.

Almost there.

A rich aroma floated up, tempting the empty stomach.

It's the aroma of chicken, stewed till tender.

My stomach made a clear rumbling sound at an inopportune moment.

There were only two sets of bowls and chopsticks on the long table.

Today, we had an exquisite Chinese lunch, with a few side dishes and a bowl of soup, replacing the bread and cold meals of the past.

Oh my god, it’s finally not bread.

He was already there, sitting in the main seat, as quiet as a sculpture, with an invisible pressure enveloping the entire space.

She subconsciously stopped at the door of the restaurant.

He didn't look at her immediately, silence filled the air: "Come here."

She hurried to her seat and sat across the long table from him, her legs still trembling slightly.

"It's too late." His voice was not loud, and was flat and straightforward without any ups and downs.

"I took a nap in the morning, sweated a little, and took a shower."

He didn't say anything, picked up the chopsticks, picked up a piece of temptingly colored chicken and put it into his mouth.

She quickly picked up her chopsticks. Her stomach was empty, and the aroma of the stewed chicken invaded her nose.

The food tastes fresh, tender and soft.

It’s really delicious.

She ate in small bites, trying not to make any noise; the only sound she could hear was the sound of herself swallowing rapidly.

The bowl and chopsticks were gently put down, making a slight sound. The man opposite did not wipe them with a napkin, but just quietly put down his chopsticks.

A silent gaze fell on her, with a sense of judgment.

"I have a good appetite today." He said in a calm voice, "I ate so much."

At this moment, a rapid and dull banging sound suddenly came from outside the villa!

Bang! Bang! Bang! The sound was very loud, mixed with a few hoarse roars that didn't sound like human voices!

Su Wan was startled and walked quickly to the living room window.

The villa's sturdy door was being violently banged against by something outside.

It's a zombie!

The servants in the living room also heard the noise. Their faces turned pale and they huddled together nervously.

He looked at the zombies outside who were banging on the door crazily, his eyes were cold and his face was expressionless.

"You're pregnant, and your body is delicate." He spoke slowly, his voice was not loud, but it reached Su Wan's ears clearly, "Those guys outside are too noisy."

He raised his chin towards the door. "Go, get rid of them."

Su Wan's blood seemed to solidify instantly, and his face turned pale!

He...he asked her to deal with the zombies?

Those things outside are banging the iron door!

How could she...

"I..." She looked at him in horror, her lips trembling uncontrollably, "I can't do it..."

Lu Shiyan's eyes suddenly turned cold, and the murderous intent that had just been suppressed reappeared.

"Oh? Can't do it?" His tone was calm, but it revealed deadly danger. "It seems that the thing in your stomach is not as precious as you said."

He began to walk closer to her step by step, and the oppressive feeling emanating from him made it almost impossible for her to breathe.

Su Wan was forced to retreat again and again until his back was against the cold wall, with nowhere to retreat.

His eyes told her clearly: Either go out and face the zombies now and prove that you and that "child" are worth keeping for a while; or die here and now.
