Chapter 21 Over there?

Lu Shiyan withdrew his hand and let the flames dissipate into the air. "Not yet."

"Why?" Xiao Han stepped forward and asked hurriedly, "What are you waiting for?"

Lu Shiyan was silent for a moment, then he raised his hand and pressed his fingertips between his eyebrows, his movements tired. "She's pregnant."

Xiao Han paused.

After a few seconds, he uttered a sound that sounded like a sneer: "So? That woman imprisoned you and tortured you, and you want to stay and take care of her and that bastard?"

Lu Shiyan put down his hand and turned to him slowly. "I said, it's not possible yet."

Xiao Han stared at him closely, as if he didn't know him. "Are you worried about that child?"

Lu Shiyan did not respond.

His silence was the answer itself.

Xiao Han exhaled heavily and took a half step back. "Lu Shiyan, you have really changed. Have you forgotten what she did to you?"

"I haven't forgotten." Lu Shiyan's voice was flat, "But the child is innocent."

Xiao Han seemed to want to argue, but was interrupted by a hurried knock on the door.

It was Aunt Zhang, her voice was tearful and she had completely lost her usual composure: "Sir! Miss is in trouble!"

Lu Shiyan and Xiao Han exchanged glances, then immediately stood up and walked out.

Su Wan's room was brightly lit, almost blindingly so.

She curled up on the bed, her face flushed, her hair wet with cold sweat, sticking to her pale forehead and cheeks.

She hugged her abdomen tightly with both hands, clenched her teeth, and a suppressed moan of pain escaped from her throat.

"What's going on?" Lu Shiyan's voice was emotionless.

Aunt Zhang was panicking and rubbing her hands, "I, I don't know either... Miss suddenly cried out in the middle of the night that her stomach hurt so badly, I'm afraid... I'm afraid it's the baby..."

Lu Shiyan walked a few steps to the bedside, leaned over, and reached out to touch Su Wan's forehead. The skin under his fingertips was incredibly hot.

"I have a fever." He retracted his hand and turned to Xiao Han at the door, "Go get the antipyretic medicine and the B-ultrasound machine."

Xiao Han stood there without moving, as if he was weighing something.

Lu Shiyan turned his head to look at him and said nothing.

Xiao Han finally turned around and quickly left the room.

Lu Shiyan's eyes fell back on the bed. He looked at her curled up in pain, and at her hands pressing on her abdomen, her wrist bones were too thin.

He stretched out his hand, as if he wanted to do something, but in the end he just stopped in mid-air and slowly put it down.

"Hold on," he said, his voice lower than before.

Su Wan's high fever lasted for three days, during which she was barely conscious. Lu Shiyan stayed by her side and took care of her personally.

On the morning of the fourth day, Su Wan finally opened his eyes.

She felt weak, but the pain in her abdomen had eased a lot. She slowly turned her head and saw Lu Shiyan sitting on a chair beside the bed, his head slightly lowered, as if he was asleep.

His eyelashes cast a thin shadow in the sun, and his well-defined profile looked particularly tired. Su Wan was stunned for a moment, not expecting him to stay here.

She moved her body slightly, and the bed made a slight sound. Lu Shiyan immediately opened his eyes and looked at her sharply.

"You're awake." His voice was still cold, but less sharp than usual.

Su Wan nodded, her voice weak: "Kid...are you okay?"

Lu Shiyan's expression relaxed slightly: "It's okay, it's just that your body is too weak and you need to rest well."

Su Wan breathed a sigh of relief, her hand unconsciously touching her belly. This little life was her only support in this end times.

"Thank you," she said softly.

Lu Shiyan did not respond, but stood up and poured a glass of water and handed it to her. Su Wan took the glass of water, and their fingertips touched inadvertently, and a subtle electric current flowed in the air.

At this moment, a burst of hurried footsteps broke the silence in the room. Xiao Han pushed the door open and walked in, his face solemn: "Lu Shiyan, there is something going on."

Lu Shiyan immediately stood up: "What's the matter?"

"The alarm outside the villa has been triggered. Someone broke in." Xiao Han lowered his voice, "and there was more than one person."

Lu Shiyan's expression instantly turned cold: "How many people?"

"At least ten, fully armed." Xiao Han quickly replied, "Judging from their equipment, they should be from that side."

Su Wan's heart sank. Over there? Where?

Lu Shiyan turned to Su Wan with a complicated look in his eyes: "Can you leave?"

Su Wan bit her lip and nodded.

"Okay, follow me." Lu Shiyan stretched out his hand to help her up, "Let's take the secret passage."

Xiao Han led the way in front, Lu Shiyan supported Su Wan, and the three of them quickly crossed the corridor and moved towards the basement.

Just as they were about to reach the basement entrance, a burst of gunfire suddenly came from the front of the villa, followed by the sound of broken glass and heavy footsteps.

"They are coming in!" Xiao Han whispered, quickening his pace.

Lu Shiyan's expression became more solemn. He glanced at Su Wan's pale face and suddenly made a decision: "Xiao Han, you take her through the secret passage, and I will hold them back."

Xiao Han was stunned for a moment: "Are you crazy? How can you deal with so many people alone?"

A hint of determination flashed across Lu Shiyan's eyes: "It's enough to handle it. Let's go!"

He handed Su Wan to Xiao Han and turned to walk towards the direction where the gunshots came from.

Su Wan suddenly grabbed his wrist: "Wait!"

Lu Shiyan turned around and met her worried eyes.

"Be careful," she whispered.

Lu Shiyan's eyes moved slightly, he nodded, then turned around and left resolutely.

"Hurry! Over here!" Xiao Han shouted in a low voice, his voice tense.

He supported Su Wan and led her to an inconspicuous secret door in the wall.

The remaining figures in the villa stumbled and followed, looking panic-stricken.

A cold and damp breath hit me in the face.

They stepped into a narrow secret passage. The light suddenly disappeared, leaving only the rough stone steps under their feet.

The passage winds downward and leads deep into the mountain behind the villa.

Su Wan leaned against the cold wall, trying hard to support her weak body.

Xiao Han, who was leading the way, suddenly stopped and turned sideways to whisper something to a taciturn man beside him.

A'mo's body tensed up instantly and his breathing became heavier.

"Brother Han...are you going back alone?" His voice was hoarse and contained obvious disapproval.

Xiao Han didn't say anything, he just raised his hand and patted A'mo's shoulder with great force.

A'mo's Adam's apple rolled and he finally lowered his head.

He stretched out his hand, ready to take over Su Wan who was being supported by Xiao Han.

"You guys go first, I'll be back soon."

He wants to go back? Back to the villa?

Su Wan looked at Xiao Han's back.

This person... In the original book, there is no such person as Xiao Han. Where did he come from?

He and Lu Shiyan were in a relationship where they were willing to risk their lives for each other? What was their relationship like?

They should not only be friends, but also close friends who would sacrifice their lives for each other. This kind of relationship is also not mentioned in the original book.
