On the surveillance footage, they saw two thickly dressed men. However, one of them had his hat pulled down far enough to cover most of his face. He was knocking on the door repeatedly, looking very impatient.
Although Xiao Yi didn't know the people outside the door, he could guess their identities based on Yu Wei's reaction. He just didn't expect them to come to his door. It seemed that Xiao Yi had underestimated them before.
Xiao Yi stood up, ready to change his clothes and go out to see what they were going to do, but was stopped by Yu Wei.
"Forget it. They just want to come and see if there's anything they can do for them. Or maybe they discovered your identity and want your help." Yu Wei's voice got lower and lower as she spoke, and in the end her voice was almost inaudible.
Looking at Yu Wei's expression, Xiao Yi had no choice but to put his arm around her shoulders and sighed softly: "Okay, just treat it as a dog barking."
The people outside the door didn't seem to give up. They kept knocking on the door for almost half an hour. However, no matter how hard they tried, the door never opened. Xiao Yi and Yu Wei, who were inside the house, went straight into the bedroom, not listening and not being bothered.
Finally, they seemed to realize that knocking on the door would not get a response, so they stopped what they were doing. Yu Wei and Xiao Yi both noticed that when they left, they seemed to be trying hard to stuff something into the crack of the door.
After they left for a while, Xiao Yi slowly opened the door and picked up the note they left outside. He carefully read the words on it: "The Spark Project, if you want to know, come to me."
Xiao Yi looked at the words on the note, but he didn't understand what it said. Yu Wei had just walked out of the bathroom at this time, and saw that Xiao Yi seemed to be reading something, so she came over to study it together. When she saw the words on the note, she immediately screamed: "The Spark Project, how could she know about the Spark Project, why, why did she know about it."
Her voice was filled with fear and confusion. What exactly was this "Spark Plan"? Why did Yu Wei react this way? Xiao Yi also felt uneasy, even to the point of letting Yu Wei lose control to this extent.
It was obvious that Yu Wei was completely absorbed by the words "Spark Project" at this moment. She had lost interest in everything else and was even considering going to that person immediately and agreeing to all her requests.
However, Xiao Yi stopped Yu Wei. He didn't use any gentle words to comfort her, but directly held her tightly in his arms and forced her to calm down. Yu Wei's emotions gradually calmed down from the initial excitement and frenzy, and finally she even shed tears, and then turned into crazy crying.
When Yu Wei started to cry loudly, Xiao Yi finally put down the heavy stone in his heart. He knew that her emotions had gradually been vented, and what she needed now was more understanding and comfort. He held her silently, letting her cry freely in his arms, and using his body to convey a sense of security to her.
At this moment, Xiao Yi empathized with Yu Wei's reaction. He understood what this so-called "Spark Plan" meant to Yu Wei, and why she was so emotional. He knew that the most important thing now was to help Yu Wei calm down and face this unknown challenge together.
Gradually, the crying stopped. Yu Wei sobbed and leaned on Xiao Yi's arms, telling him what she knew about the Fire Plan.
"I remember it was several years ago. I went to Dad's study to look for something out of curiosity, but I pulled out a sealed file bag. I opened it out of curiosity and saw the words "Fire Project". I vaguely remember that it seemed to ask my parents to find something."
But in fact, at that time, Yu Wei had no idea what it meant.
Later, Yu Wei's parents told her, still a student, that they were going to a faraway place to complete a mission related to the happiness of all mankind. Yu Wei finally couldn't help herself and asked the question that had been lingering in her mind for a long time: "Will you be in danger?"
Yu Wei's father caressed her head lovingly and left without a word. Yu Wei was left alone, an orphan. Before the apocalypse, Yu Wei hadn't given up on her quest. It must have been because she wasn't strong enough, so the information she could find was so limited. And now, her uneducated, sycophantic sister was plotting against her. If it weren't for the fact that she might actually know something, Yu Wei would have wanted to kill her.
After Yu Wei finished speaking intermittently, Xiao Yi roughly understood the so-called Spark Plan. It was very likely the official prediction that all civilizations in the world would need to be protected. However, if that was the case, it was possible that Yu Wei's parents were still alive.
Things have developed to this point. No matter what, Xiao Yi decided to meet the woman and see what she wanted to do.
However, Xiao Yi still maintained his rationality. He analyzed for Yu Wei: "If she really knows something, we'd better let her speak out. If she just wants to find someone to bluff, then stepping on Xiao Yi's face is more appropriate."
Although his tone was calm, his words revealed his calmness and determination. He empathized with Wei's pain and anxiety, but he also knew that he had to keep a clear head in order to face this unknown challenge.
Xiao Yi's words made Yu Wei feel a little comforted. She knew that at this critical moment, Xiao Yi was her support. She needed his wisdom and calmness to help her face this difficulty.
The two looked at each other in tacit understanding and decided to face this challenge together. No matter what was coming, they would face it together and overcome it together.
