Chapter 226: Mixed Feelings

He took a deep breath and exhaled sharply. As he exhaled, he felt as if all the fatigue and exhaustion had been expelled from his body. He swung his fist again, but this time, his force was even greater and his speed was even faster.

The zombies fell before him one after another, their bodies blown away by his fists, turning into snowflakes that fell to the ground. He felt as if he had become the master of this world, able to control life and death at will.

But he did not become complacent because he knew that the battle was not over yet. He had to keep moving forward and keep fighting until the last zombie fell.

Time seemed to stand still at this moment, only he and the zombies were fighting. Every punch he threw was full of power, and every dodge seemed effortless. Although the zombies were terrifying, they became so vulnerable in front of him.

Finally, with his unremitting efforts, the last zombie fell. He stood in the snow, panting, but his eyes were filled with joy and pride. He knew he had succeeded, successfully protecting this world.

He looked up at the sky, and saw snowflakes still falling. But he knew that this winter was no longer cold, because he had warmed the world with his strength and courage.

Homecoming and Watching

When Xiao Yi stepped into the shelter again, it seemed as if the whole world had quieted down. The wind and snow outside were still howling, and the roars of zombies were intermittent, but here, he found a trace of peace.

He took off his tattered battle suit, revealing the sweat-soaked shirt underneath. He sat down tiredly on a worn wooden chair, took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled.

His eyes fell on the food in the pot. It was what he had prepared for himself earlier. Although it was a little cold now, the familiar aroma still warmed him. He walked over to the pot, picked up a piece of meat with chopsticks, and put it in his mouth. The rich flavor instantly filled his mouth, as if it could dispel all his fatigue.

He ate slowly, savoring every bite. He knew this was probably the most delicious meal he had had in a while. After finishing, he washed the pots and bowls and put them back where they belonged.

He walked to the window and looked out at the snowstorm. He knew he couldn't just stop. The zombie threat wasn't over yet, and he had to keep fighting. But he also knew he needed to rest and recover.

He returned to his bed and lay down. His body was tired, but his heart was filled with determination. He closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep.

In his dream, he saw his family. They sat together, laughing and talking, full of warmth and happiness. He also saw those who had been with him. Together, they faced this difficult world.

When Xiao Yi woke up, sunlight was already shining through the window. He felt that his body had recovered a lot, and his heart was full of strength. He knew that he had to move on, for those he loved, for the world.

He donned his battle suit, picked up his weapon, and left the shelter. The snowstorm had subsided, but the zombie threat remained. He took a deep breath and set out on a new journey.

In the days that followed, Xiao Yi continued to fight the zombies. He no longer felt lonely and helpless, because he knew he was fighting to protect the world. Whenever he felt tired, he would think of the people he loved, their smiles and warmth. These memories filled him with strength, allowing him to keep moving forward.

He also began to look for other survivors, hoping to fight with them. He met many people, including the elderly, children, and young people like him. They united together to fight the threat of zombies.

As time went by, the number of zombies gradually decreased, and the human defense line gradually became solid. Xiao Yi knew that all this was the result of their joint efforts. They used their own strength and courage to protect this world.

Finally, when the last zombie fell, Xiao Yi felt an unprecedented sense of relief and joy. They succeeded, and they protected this world.

Xiao Yi returned to the shelter and looked at those who had fought alongside him. Their faces were filled with smiles and pride. They knew that they had worked hard for this world and had gained growth and courage.

Xiao Yi walked to the pot again and cooked a hearty meal for himself. He knew that it was all worth it. He used his strength and courage to protect the world and the people he loved.

He sat at the table, slowly eating his meal. The rich flavor filled his mouth again, as if it could dispel all his fatigue. He knew that he would continue to move forward, for a better future.

Reunion and unsolved mysteries

The moment Xiao Yi returned to the shelter, the wind and snow had subsided, but the storm in his heart hadn't subsided. He took off his battle suit, revealing his sweat-soaked shirt underneath, every mark of which seemed to tell of the hardships of the battle. He sat exhausted on a wooden chair, his eyes involuntarily falling on that familiar figure—Yu Wei.

Yu Wei had also been his comrade-in-arms, and their relationship had once been very close. But as time passed, their contact gradually waned, until this reunion. Xiao Yi looked at her, a complex emotion welling up in his heart. Was it love? he asked himself. But thinking carefully, it seemed not to be. Was it friendship? But this feeling seemed to have deteriorated.

They had experienced life and death together, and faced the threat of zombies together. During those days, their feelings were deep and pure. But as time passed, they both changed. Xiao Yi became more calm, and Yu Wei became more mature. The feelings between them seemed to have also undergone subtle changes.
