Everyone's heart tightened, knowing that this time it would be difficult to end peacefully. They gripped their weapons tightly, ready for battle. Xiao Yi stood at the front, his eyes firm and resolute. He knew that as the leader of the team, he had to lead everyone through this crisis.
The beast roared and lunged at the group. They rushed forward and engaged in a fierce struggle with the beast. In this life-and-death struggle, they displayed amazing courage and perseverance, ultimately successfully repelling the beast.
However, they knew this was just the beginning. In this unknown forest, more dangers awaited them. But they also believed that as long as they united as one and faced the challenges bravely, they would be able to overcome all difficulties and find hope for survival.
Xiao Yi leaned against the old locust tree, his exhausted body seemed to be dragging him into endless darkness. His eyes revealed deep fatigue and helplessness. The frost of the end of the world had already carved too many marks on him.
The surrounding area was a ruin. The former prosperity was long gone, replaced by broken walls and barren grasslands. The wind blew, bringing up wisps of dust, as if telling the sorrow of this era.
Xiao Yi closed his eyes, and his mind flashed back to the beautiful days before the end of the world. Back then, he was still a carefree teenager, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of life. However, everything was completely overturned on that dark day.
The end of the world is coming, and the world is in chaos. In order to survive, Xiao Yi has to embark on a difficult journey of escape. He has experienced countless hardships and tests, but he has never been as miserable as today.
He felt his empty pockets; not even a piece of dry food could fill his stomach. The hunger in his stomach was like a ferocious beast, constantly gnawing at his internal organs. His legs were trembling from the long journey, barely able to support his body.
At this moment, a slight noise broke the silence. Xiao Yi immediately opened his eyes alertly and saw a skinny hare cautiously poking its head out from the grass. Its eyes revealed a hint of vigilance and curiosity, as if it was curious about Xiao Yi, a strange existence.
Xiao Yi's heart moved, he knew this was his chance. He quickly stood up and quietly approached the hare. The hare seemed to sense the danger and wanted to escape, but it was too late. Xiao Yi pounced on it and grabbed the hare's hind legs.
The hare struggled, trying to break free from Xiao Yi's restraints, but Xiao Yi was already mad with hunger. He held the hare tightly and bit it desperately. The hare's blood stained the corners of his mouth red, but he didn't care about that anymore. He only knew that this was his only chance to survive.
After eating the hare, Xiao Yi felt a brief sense of satisfaction. Although he was still exhausted, his spirits were slightly lifted. He looked up into the distance, where his destination was - a legendary sanctuary.
He took a deep breath, swallowing the fatigue and pain in his body. He knew he couldn't stop. In the apocalypse, no one could survive easily. He had to persevere until he found that refuge.
So, he set out on his journey again. Every step seemed heavy and difficult, but his heart was filled with determination and courage. He knew that as long as he didn't give up, he would be able to find that refuge and start his life anew.
Xiao Yi suddenly realized that the old locust tree he was leaning against was much larger than he had imagined. Curious, he decided to walk around the tree to find out what was going on. However, to his surprise, after walking for nearly ten minutes, he still hadn't returned to his starting point.
Xiao Yi couldn't help but stop, his heart filled with astonishment. He looked up and saw that the treetops blocked out the sun, like a separate forest, and the trunks were like towering mountains, incredibly thick and sturdy. He tried to reach out and measure it, but even with his arms outstretched, he couldn't even embrace one-tenth of it.
"This tree is probably several hundred meters thick!" Xiao Yi muttered to himself, his heart filled with shock. He had never seen such a huge tree before, and even before the end of the world, he had never heard of such a thing.
He continued to walk around the tree, trying to find the end of it, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to reach its edge. The tree seemed like an endless maze in which he lost his way.
During his exploration, Xiao Yi couldn't help but develop a strong interest in the tree. He wanted to know why the tree was so huge, how long it had existed, and what kind of vicissitudes it had experienced. At the same time, he also felt a little fortunate for the existence of the tree, because in this desolate apocalypse, having such a big tree as a support could at least bring him a little comfort and strength.
However, he also knew he couldn't stay here for too long. In the apocalypse, danger was everywhere, and he had to find the legendary refuge as soon as possible. So, he took a deep breath and set out on his journey again.
Before leaving, he looked back at the huge locust tree, his heart filled with emotion. He didn't know if he would have the chance to see the tree again, but he knew that the tree would remain in his memory forever, becoming an unforgettable memory of his journey to the end of the world.
Xiao Yi and several like-minded friends, Xiao Qiang, Ali, and Xiao Fang, decided to find out and challenge the towering tree. They wanted to know how thick and tall this tree was, and whether it hid some unknown secrets of the apocalypse.
The men immediately took action, pulling out their daggers and gripping them tightly as climbing aids. They took turns stepping on the raised grooves on the trunk, carefully climbing upwards. Though rough, the trunk was surprisingly stable, providing ample support.
