Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and the wooden house shook violently, as if it would collapse at any time. Everyone screamed in fear and looked for a place to hold on.
Xiao Yi's heart was in his throat. He held on to a pillar tightly, trying to steady his body. At this tense moment, his brain was working rapidly, thinking about how to get everyone through this difficult time safely.
At this time, the heavy rain outside still showed no signs of abating, and the strong wind was still howling. They were trapped in this unsafe place, waiting for the judgment of fate.
As time went on, the torrential rain showed no sign of stopping, but instead became even more ferocious. Like a ferocious beast, the rain began to pour into the shelter they had finally found.
Under the ravages of that extreme downpour, the entire world seemed plunged into apocalyptic chaos. The streets were no longer streets, but raging rivers, the water level rising rapidly and rushing relentlessly towards people's homes.
The rain rushed into the houses like a ferocious beast. People watched helplessly as their homes were gradually submerged, furniture floating and crashing in the water, and precious memories were mercilessly swallowed by the cold rain.
At first, it was just a trickle, but it soon became a torrent, flowing freely over the ground. The water level continued to rise at an alarming rate, and in the blink of an eye, it was above everyone's ankles.
Everyone looked at the rising water level in horror. Their hearts, which had just been slightly relieved, were once again in suspense and they fell into a new crisis.
"What should we do? The water is rising too fast!" someone shouted anxiously.
Desperate cries resounded through the sky. Women clutched their children, tears mingling with the rain as they screamed at the top of their lungs, "Save us! Save the children!" The men, desperately trying to block the intrusion of the rain, could only helplessly watch as their efforts were wasted. They roared in anger, "When will this damn rain stop?"
The elderly people trembled with their hands, clasped their hands together and prayed in hoarse and sad voices: "God, open your eyes and spare us poor people!" The children cried in fear one after another. They didn't understand why the familiar world had become like this. They just cried out instinctively: "I'm scared, I want to go home!"
In the crowd, some people collapsed in the water in despair, their eyes empty, muttering to themselves: "It's over, everything is over..." Others looked up at the sky and kept praying: "Please, stop pouring water, give us a way to survive!"
The whole scene was filled with despair, fear and helplessness. The cries and prayers seemed so small and fragile in the storm, yet they were full of people's desire for survival and unwillingness to accept their fate.
Xiao Yi's face was solemn, and his brain was working rapidly to find a solution. He looked around and found that there was nothing in this shelter that could block the rain.
"We have to find a way to block these water flows!" Xiao Yi said loudly.
Everyone took action and began to look for usable items, but there was almost nothing useful here except some broken wooden boards and miscellaneous items.
They frantically used wooden planks to block the flow of water, but the effect was minimal. The water level continued to rise and was almost knee-deep.
Fear spread in everyone's heart, and everyone realized that if the problem was not solved quickly, they would likely be drowned by the rising water.
Xiao Yi was extremely anxious. He knew that they could not sit idly by and must come up with a better way to deal with this crisis as soon as possible.
As the water level continued to rise, supplies that hadn't been moved in time were soaked by the relentless rain. The neatly arranged food, medicine, and some important tools were gradually submerged by the water.
Food began to swell and spoil, medicine packaging became soft and rotten, and some tools malfunctioned or were damaged due to water ingress. This sudden situation made everyone's heart sink to the bottom.
Xiao Yi looked at the supplies that had been ravaged by the rain, his heart filled with helplessness and pain. These supplies were their hope for survival in this difficult environment, but now they had suffered such serious damage.
In that violent downpour, the accumulated water continued to rise, mercilessly pouring into the place where supplies were stored. When people discovered this tragic scene, their faces were instantly filled with despair and horror.
They rushed recklessly toward the pile of supplies gradually submerged by the rain, their eyes filled with determination. The men rolled up their trouser legs and stepped into the waist-deep water without hesitation, struggling forward. The women followed closely behind, displaying incredible courage despite their frail frames.
Their expressions were twisted, and every wrinkle was etched with despair. Some people's lips trembled, tears welled up in their eyes, but they forced themselves not to let them fall, because there was no time to be sad at this moment.
They desperately reached out to grab the supplies, but the force of the rain was too strong, constantly scattering and sweeping away the supplies. They held on tightly to the items in their hands, even if their fingers were cut and blood mixed with the rain, they would not let go.
A man finally managed to fish out a bag of food, but was knocked down by a torrent. He floundered in the water and was almost washed away, but he still held on to the bag of food tightly, got up and continued to rescue.
A woman looked at her rain-soaked clothes and sat on the ground in despair. She kept pounding the water with her hands and cried out, "How can I live like this?"
There was also an old man who looked at the destroyed medicine with a dull look in his eyes and muttered to himself: "It's over, it's all over..."
Their faces were filled with helplessness and pain, a despair for life and confusion about the future. But even so, they continued to fight against the relentless rain, trying to salvage even the smallest bit of supplies to preserve a glimmer of hope for survival.
