Then, some people busied themselves preparing to cook. They unloaded various ingredients and cooking utensils from their bags, their movements expertly and methodically. Someone set up a simple stove, gathering a few stones in a circle and placing an iron pot on top.
Others began to process the ingredients, washing the vegetables and cutting them into suitable shapes, and the meat was carefully cut into small pieces. The person in charge of cooking lit the stove, and the flames rose, illuminating their serious faces.
The pan is filled with oil, which makes a sizzling sound as it heats up. The ingredients are then added one by one and stir-fried, with the aroma gradually wafting out. The cook constantly stirs the food in the pan and adds seasonings to ensure the flavor is just right.
The others sat together, watching the cooking process, chatting and laughing about the battle just now and the next plan. Occasionally someone would stand up to help add wood to the fire, or pass on seasoning or something.
Soon, a delicious meal was ready. Everyone took out their utensils, filled their plates, and began to dig in. As they ate, they continued chatting, enjoying this rare moment of rest. The poolside was filled with laughter and a warm atmosphere.
