Chapter 670 Uninvited Guests

The house was neatly organized by Xiao Yi. Every corner was fully utilized, filled with his carefully organized supplies and tools. The bed was comfortable and warm, and the stove provided a steady supply of warmth and cooking convenience.

Xiao Yi stood in the middle of the room, looking around at everything, his face showing a mixture of relief and fatigue. He knew that his efforts were not in vain, and this shelter was his hope for survival.

Finally, he could breathe a sigh of relief. Xiao Yi sat on the chair, gently stroking the injured part, feeling the pain ease up little by little.

In this rare moment of peace, he began to ponder his future. Should he continue to persevere here, waiting for the outside world to improve? Or should he bravely go out and seek other possible places to survive? Countless thoughts swirled in his mind, but he knew that no matter what choice he made, this shelter he had built with his own hands would provide him with a solid foundation.

Xiao Yi's wound was still aching, not yet fully healed. At noon that day, sunlight streamed through the cracks in the window onto his homemade bed. He lay there pale and weak, trying to gain some strength to recover from this moment of tranquility.

Suddenly, a cacophony of noises shattered the silence. Outside, a flurry of footsteps stomped heavily on the ground, like a herd of buffaloes galloping. Then, a chaotic chorus of voices, filled with anger, anxiety, and fear, rose and fell.

Xiao Yi was awakened instantly, his nerves immediately tensed up, and his heartbeat accelerated. He struggled to stand up, his ears pressed tightly against the window, trying to hear what the people outside were saying.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, accompanied by fierce arguments and shouting. There were men's hoarse voices shouting loudly, women's shrill cries, and children's terrified screams.

Xiao Yi's brows were furrowed, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. He didn't know what he was about to face, a dangerous enemy, or an innocent person in urgent need of help. In this fragile moment when he had not yet fully recovered, his heart was filled with tension and anxiety, but at the same time, he also felt a surge of courage to prepare for the unknown.

Xiao Yi's heart tightened, and he quickly and silently sat up from the bed, his muscles instantly tensed. He approached the window quietly, his eyes full of vigilance.

He looked out through the narrow window and saw a group of people approaching his shelter aggressively.

These people were dressed in rags, their clothes full of stains and tears, as if they had experienced countless hardships and hardships. Their hair was unkempt, some tied up carelessly at the back of their heads, while others were left hanging loose, covering most of their faces.

All of those faces were filled with ferocious expressions. Their eyes were wide open, almost popping out of their sockets, their gazes revealing greed, brutality, and a desperate madness.

The leader was tall, with a face covered in flesh. A long scar stretched from the corner of his eye to his chin, making his face look even more ferocious and terrifying. He held a piece of dry grass he had picked up from somewhere in his mouth, and he walked while waving a worn machete in his hand and shouting something.

The people following him also had different appearances, but all had fierce expressions on their faces. Some held sticks in their hands, while others tightly grasped rusty daggers, like a pack of hungry wolves, ready to launch a fatal attack on their prey.

When Xiao Yi saw this scene, his heart sank suddenly and cold sweat broke out on his forehead. He knew that a crisis was about to come.

The group, about seven or eight, stood in a crooked row, each with a ferocious look. The two in front, one tightly grasped a thick, long stick, the end of which bore traces of wear and tear, as if it had been through many fierce battles. The other held aloft a sharp axe, the blade gleaming coldly in the sunlight, revealing a chilling murderous intent.

The men in the middle of the group were no less impressive. Two of them, burly, each held a battered pistol. The barrels of the pistols were rusted, and it was unclear whether they could still fire properly. But the black muzzle alone was enough to instill fear. Another man carried an iron chain with a heavy iron ball attached to the end. It swung with his steps, making a dull sound.

The man at the back was carrying a long machete on his shoulder, with a deep notch on the blade, as if telling of the bloody past.

When Xiao Yi saw this scene, his heart skipped a beat, as if a huge rock had weighed down on him. His breathing quickened, and the veins in his forehead throbbed slightly. He knew that this trouble was not something he could handle easily. These people had ill intentions, and the weapons they held added to the air of danger. His mind raced, thinking about how to resolve this impending crisis.

The wolf-like sharp eyes of this group quickly caught Xiao Yi's trace. They quickly gathered at the door like sharks smelling blood.

The leading man, a burly man with a face full of flesh, pounded the door violently with his thick fists, making a loud "bang bang" sound, and shouted at the top of his voice: "Whoever is in there, get out of here right now!" His voice was hoarse and rough, as if he wanted to shatter the door.

The others joined in the commotion, shouting in unison. "This rotten place belongs to us now, get out if you know what's good for you!" a skinny guy holding a stick screamed, his eyes filled with greed and arrogance.

"Don't dawdle, come out and die!" Another strong man holding an axe waved the axe in his hand and threatened viciously. The axe swept through the air, bringing up a gust of wind.
