Chapter 676: The Blade is Unsheathed 6

He no longer cared about the unpleasant smell, or the dampness of the ground that would soak his clothes, because here, there were no zombies roaring, no fear of life being threatened.

At this moment, this seemingly dilapidated air-raid shelter is his only hope in this doomsday world. It is a shelter where he can gather strength again and think of a way out.

Xiao Yi lay on the ground for a long time, and finally, he struggled to get up with all his strength. His body kept shaking, and every movement seemed extremely difficult.

His arms trembled as he supported his upper body, his legs bent, trying to find a foothold. After much difficulty, he staggered to his feet, but stumbled again and nearly fell down again.

After standing firm, Xiao Yi took a deep breath and began to grope the inside of the air-raid shelter with his weak body. He stretched out his hands and reached forward cautiously. His fingers touched the damp wall, and the cold and slippery touch made his heart tremble.

He moved slowly, his steps were weak, and he had to pause after each step to maintain his balance. In the darkness, his eyes were almost useless, and he could only rely entirely on the perception of his hands to understand his surroundings.

He touched a protruding stone on the wall, and the sharp edge cut his finger. He gasped in pain, but he could only grit his teeth and continue groping.

The ground in the air-raid shelter was uneven, and sometimes he would suddenly step on a small pit, his body suddenly leaning forward and almost falling. Sometimes he would kick something hard, and a sharp pain would come from his toes.

He moved forward bit by bit, not missing any clues or objects that might be useful. Every time he touched an unfamiliar object, his heart would rise to his throat, fearing that it might be some unknown danger.

Xiao Yi explored in the darkness with difficulty. The air-raid shelter was so quiet that he could only hear his heavy breathing and the dragging sound of his footsteps.

Xiao Yi groped cautiously in the darkness, each step forward filled with uncertainty and anticipation. Just when he was about to despair, his hand touched a hard object.

His heartbeat quickened, and after a careful exploration, he found that it was a shelf. He continued to explore along the shelf, silently praying that he would find something.

Luck seemed to have finally come to his aid, as his hands touched some packaged items. He picked them up with trembling hands, brought them close to his nose and sniffed, and the aroma of food filled his nose: some compressed biscuits and canned food.

Unable to suppress his inner joy, he continued searching and found a few more bottles. He shook them gently and heard the sound of liquid flowing inside. There was no doubt that it was precious water.

Xiao Yi was so excited that he almost cried out. He continued to expand his search range and came across a box. After opening it, he found some medical supplies neatly arranged inside. There were bandages, disinfectants, painkillers, and so on.

He clutched the supplies tightly in his arms, as if they were the most precious treasures in the world. The food brought a glimmer of hope to his empty stomach, the touch of water moistened his parched throat, and the medical supplies were a salvation for his scarred body.

Tears glistened in Xiao Yi's eyes. At this moment, these emergency supplies were not just items, but also his hope of survival, a ray of hope in this desperate world.

Xiao Yi's hands trembled as he impatiently opened a pack of compressed biscuits and stuffed them into his mouth frantically. His chewing movements were quick and fierce, his mouth was stuffed full, and he swallowed it without chewing a few times. He didn't care at all when the crumbs of biscuits fell from his mouth.

Then, he opened another can. The rich aroma made his eyes light up. He raised the can directly to his mouth and drank the soup inside in big gulps, making a "gurgling" swallowing sound in his throat, like a person who had been hungry for a long time and finally saw food.

After a few mouthfuls, his speed slowed down slightly, but he still devoured the food like a whirlwind. After finishing, he licked his lips with a sense of satisfaction, as if wanting to keep every bit of flavor in his mouth.

After slightly alleviating his hunger, Xiao Yi began to treat his wound. He picked up the disinfectant, gritted his teeth, and poured it on the wound. The stinging pain made his body tremble uncontrollably, but he clenched his fists tightly and forced himself not to cry out.

After treating the shallower wounds, he faced the mirror and carefully used tweezers to pull out the gravel and debris embedded in the flesh. Every time he did it, the pain made sweat break out on his forehead.

Afterwards, he picked up the bandage and wrapped it around the wound, one circle at a time. Although his movements were a little clumsy, he was extremely serious. After each circle, he would stop to take a few breaths and accumulate some strength.

Finally, all the wounds were treated. Xiao Yi leaned against the wall, breathing heavily, with a look of relief on his face.

Xiao Yi slowly leaned against the wall, his body seemed to have lost all its strength, and he slid down softly. His back was pressed against the cold and damp wall, but he seemed unaware of it. At this moment, even this little bit of support was a great comfort to him.

He gently closed his eyes, his brows still furrowed tightly, as if exhaustion had been deeply etched into his face. In the darkness, his breathing gradually calmed down, becoming slow and deep, yet still with a hint of rapidity that was difficult to conceal.

In his mind, those terrifying zombie images, fierce battle scenes, and endless fear and despair continued to flash, making it impossible for him to completely relax. However, he tried hard to drive these thoughts out, trying to find a trace of inner peace in this moment of tranquility.
