Xiao Yi invited experienced seniors from the base to teach them and impart management knowledge and skills.
In a spacious and bright classroom, the selected students took their seats early, looking forward to the upcoming classes.
The first lecturer was a senior, gray-haired but energetic man who had repeatedly saved the base's fortunes. He stepped onto the podium, his gaze gentle yet resolute, his voice steady and forceful. "Children, management begins with clear goals and plans," he said, writing a few large words on the blackboard. He then elaborated on how to set long-term goals and short-term plans, and how to flexibly adjust them based on actual conditions.
The next senior speaker was a resource management expert at the base. He brought a thick stack of materials and diagrams, and using vivid case studies, he explained how to rationally allocate resources and maximize benefits under limited conditions. The students listened intently, frequently raising questions, and the senior speaker patiently answered them until everyone had a thorough understanding.
A senior student, skilled in team building, spoke in a friendly voice about how to build team strength and handle conflicts within a team. She had the students divide into groups and conduct simulation exercises, then personally provided guidance and evaluation, allowing everyone to experience the importance of teamwork in practice.
Each senior teacher generously shared their valuable experience accumulated over the years with the students without reservation. Their teaching styles were unique, some serious, some humorous, but all full of expectations and encouragement for the students.
Xiao Yi often sits in the back of the classroom, listening to lectures and thinking with the students. He uses his actions to convey a message to the students: learning is endless, and only by constantly improving oneself can one better serve the base.
Under the careful guidance of their predecessors, the students absorbed knowledge and skills eagerly. Their notebooks were filled with dense notes, and seeds of wisdom were planted in their hearts, waiting to take root, sprout, blossom and bear fruit in future practice.
At the same time, they are arranged to intern in various departments to accumulate practical experience.
These selected people welcomed their internship days with great anticipation and a little nervousness.
Some were assigned to the agricultural department. Early in the morning, they joined the farmers in the fields, learning how to assess crop growth, prevent and control pests and diseases, and manage irrigation and fertilization. They personally picked up farm tools and participated in sowing, weeding, and harvesting, feeling the power of the land and the challenges of agricultural production.
Others visited the industrial production department. In the noisy workshops, they humbly asked the workers how to operate the machines, understanding every step of the production process and learning how to control quality and improve efficiency. Donning gloves, they worked alongside the workers to assemble parts and debug equipment. Their bodies were stained with oil, but their eyes were filled with a thirst for new knowledge.
The logistics department also welcomed new interns. They worked alongside staff to inventory supplies, plan warehouse layouts, and arrange distribution processes. In their busy schedules, they learned how to manage budgets carefully and ensure a smooth and unimpeded supply of materials to the base.
Interns in the medical department shadowed doctors and nurses as they made ward rounds, cared for patients, and assisted in surgeries. They not only learned professional medical knowledge but also gained a deeper understanding of the fragility and preciousness of life, as well as the heavy responsibility placed on the shoulders of medical professionals.
In the administrative department, the interns participated in various meetings and decision-making processes, learning how to coordinate relationships, formulate rules and regulations, and handle documents and information. They gradually understood the importance of an efficient administrative system to the operation of the base.
The heads of each department carefully mentored the interns, assigning them specific tasks and allowing them to explore and grow through practice. The interns cherished this opportunity, observing attentively, asking questions, and working diligently, not fearing hardship and fatigue, in order to gain more practical experience and lay a solid foundation for future leadership roles.
Under Xiao Yi's careful guidance, these future leaders gradually grew up and were able to stand on their own.
Xiao Yi is like a patient gardener, carefully nurturing each seedling. He always pays attention to the growth of these young people. Whether it is a difficult problem at work or psychological confusion, Xiao Yi always appears in time and provides just the right guidance.
In every meeting, Xiao Yi would let them express their opinions, then listen carefully, point out the problems, and propose ways to improve. He encouraged them to be bold and innovative and not be afraid of making mistakes, because the lessons learned from mistakes are often the most valuable nutrients for growth.
When they are hesitant in making a decision, Xiao Yi will analyze the pros and cons with them and share his own experience, but he never makes decisions for them. Instead, he cultivates their ability to think independently and make decisive decisions.
In actual work, Xiao Yi would assign them challenging tasks, observe them silently, and give them prompts and help when appropriate. He allowed them to hone their skills in practice, accumulate experience, and gradually improve their problem-solving abilities.
As time went on, these future leaders began to show noticeable changes. The confusion and hesitation in their eyes were no longer there, but were replaced by determination and confidence.
They used to be flustered when faced with complex problems, but now they can calmly analyze and quickly develop effective solutions. Within the team, they can fully exert their influence, mobilize everyone's enthusiasm, and ensure that work proceeds efficiently and orderly.
