Chapter 711 Base Theft Case 3

As the investigation progressed, the corrupt officials at the base gradually surfaced. Like precise hunters, Xiao Yi and his team tracked every lead, leaving no stone unturned. Each new discovery brought them closer to the truth. First to be exposed was Xiao Li, the warehouse manager. He had initially appeared honest and conscientious, but as investigators dug deeper into his finances, they discovered a large amount of funds of unknown origin. Faced with irrefutable evidence, Xiao Li's defenses collapsed, and he admitted to some of his involvement in the theft. Next came Lao Wang, the base's security officer. He had believed himself to be acting cautiously, but his unusual behavior, caught by attentive investigators in a blind spot, was captured by the meticulous investigators. Faced with the evidence, Lao Wang could no longer argue and confessed his knowledge. Then came Xiao Zhang, a technician at the base. Technical analysis of the surveillance equipment surrounding the warehouse revealed evidence that Xiao Zhang had tampered with the data. When Xiao Yi confronted Xiao Zhang in person, he evaded attention, ultimately succumbing to the pressure and confessing his guilt. Each time a corrupt official was uncovered, the people at the base were shocked and outraged. However, Xiao Yi and his team remained relentless, following the clues and digging deeper, leaving no one behind who might be responsible. In this process, Xiao Yi demonstrated unwavering determination and exceptional intelligence. He skillfully employed psychological tactics to overcome the suspects' defenses, while meticulously analyzing evidence revealed even those attempting to conceal their crimes. As one corrupt official after another was apprehended, the gloom at the base gradually dissipated, and the people saw hope that justice would prevail and expressed hope for a peaceful future.

Some were tempted by profit, others by jealousy and resentment, but without exception, they betrayed the trust of the base. In those dark corners, those once considered pillars of the base now revealed their ugly true colors. Xiao Li, the seemingly diligent warehouse keeper, had been seduced by the demon of profit. Gazing at the mountains of supplies, his eyes no longer filled with a commitment to duty, but with a greedy desire for money. He fantasized about using his ill-gotten gains to live a luxurious life, forgetting the trust and responsibility the base had once bestowed upon him. Lao Wang, supposedly a loyal guardian of the base's safety, had been led astray by jealousy and resentment. He watched his colleagues, who were more respected and valued than he, and anger burned within him. Feeling his efforts were unrewarded, he decided to vent his frustration by betraying the base. And then there was Xiao Zhang, a skilled young man with a bright future. However, the seeds of resentment had taken root in his heart. Believing his talent undervalued and his efforts overlooked, he, under the instigation of others, chose to become an enemy of the base. They may have their own excuses and reasons, but they cannot mask the truth of their betrayal. Driven by desire and negative emotions, they trampled upon the trust of the base and cast aside the common good. Their vows and promises, once made, have become brittle in the face of profit, jealousy, and resentment. Their actions have not only brought immense losses to the base but have also deeply wounded everyone who trusted them. But justice will prevail, and their betrayal will surely be punished accordingly.

Xiao Yi showed no mercy and decisively took action against these corrupt officials, apprehending them one by one. Xiao Yi's eyes burned with righteous fury, his teeth clenched, his heart filled with anger and determination against these traitors. The moment for action arrived, and Xiao Yi personally led his well-trained team, striking with swiftness like a sword. Dressed in neat uniforms, they advanced with firm, powerful steps towards their target. When they appeared before the first corrupt official, Xiao Li, his eyes widened in fear and he attempted to flee. But Xiao Yi lunged forward and firmly grasped his arm. "You can't escape!" Xiao Yi's voice was cold and commanding. During the arrest of Lao Wang, Lao Wang tried to resist, flailing his arms in an attempt to break free from the team's restraints. Xiao Yi acted without hesitation, striking Lao Wang with a powerful grab, pinning him to the ground. "Your crimes are undeniable!" Xiao Yi remained unmoved by Xiao Zhang's pleas for mercy. "Your betrayal is unforgivable. Come with us now!" Xiao Yi's words were like a hammer, shattering Xiao Zhang's hopes. With every arrest, Xiao Yi led the charge, displaying fearless courage and resolute determination. His actions were decisive and precise, leaving no chance for these corrupt officials to escape. Under Xiao Yi's leadership, the team members maintained high morale and coordinated well. They swiftly and systematically completed each arrest, handcuffing those who had betrayed the base's trust. Xiao Yi looked upon the captured corrupt officials without a trace of pity. He knew that only such decisive action could safeguard the dignity and justice of the base and restore its former peace and order.

In the interrogation room, Xiao Yi engaged in a battle of wits and psychology with these parasites. The lighting in the interrogation room was a little dim, and the atmosphere was oppressive and solemn. Xiao Yi sat at the interrogation table, his eyes as sharp as torches, staring intently at the suspect opposite him. The first person to be brought in was Xiao Li, his eyes were erratic, and he didn't dare to look Xiao Yi in the eye. Xiao Yi crossed his hands on the table, his tone calm but full of oppression: "Xiao Li, you should know that confessing now is your only way out." Xiao Li's body trembled slightly, and he stammered trying to defend himself: "I... I was just confused for a moment." Xiao Yi sneered: "Confused for a moment? The theft of so many supplies can only be explained by a moment of confusion?" He suddenly raised his voice, scaring Xiao Li to shiver. Next was Lao Wang, who pretended to be calm and put on an innocent look. Xiao Yi spoke slowly, "Old Wang, you think those little tricks of yours can get away with it? The surveillance evidence doesn't lie." Old Wang feigned a defiant response, "So what? What can you do to me?" Xiao Yi slammed the table, "Don't be so arrogant! The mistakes you've made are enough to warrant severe punishment!" Old Wang's face paled instantly. Xiao Zhang entered, his face brimming with dissatisfaction. Xiao Yi looked him straight in the eye and said calmly, "Xiao Zhang, youth is no excuse for your mistakes, nor is it a way for you to resist." Xiao Zhang pouted, "Hmph, if you've got the guts, show me the evidence." Xiao Yi calmly produced a sheaf of documents and placed them before Xiao Zhang, "This evidence is enough to leave you speechless." A flicker of panic crossed Xiao Zhang's eyes as he glanced at the documents. Throughout this interrogation, Xiao Yi, with his keen insight and powerful psychological tactics, repeatedly broke down the suspects' defenses. He alternated between stern rebukes and calm analysis, always controlling the tempo of the interrogation and leaving these corrupt officials nowhere to hide before justice.
