"If this continues, the base will sooner or later fall apart!" These heavy, urgent words, uttered by those with insight, filled the air of the base with deep worry. An elderly scholar, usually immersed in a sea of books, now frowned as he paced back and forth in his book-lined room. "We were once a united whole, working together for the prosperity of the base. But now, these deepening contradictions, like a growing crack, are tearing away at our very foundations." He gazed out the window at the chaotic scene, his voice filled with helplessness and regret. An experienced engineer, standing atop the base's observation tower, gazed down at the clear dividing line between the two areas. "The conflict between ordinary people and those with special abilities has reached an irreconcilable point. If effective measures are not taken, the future of the base will be disastrous." His hand trembled as he gripped the railing, his eyes revealing his concern for the fate of the base. In the base's council chamber, a highly respected politician, facing a crowd of arguing councillors, slammed his hands on the table and shouted, "Can't you see? Our internal divisions are widening, hatred and misunderstanding are taking root in our hearts. If this continues, everything we have built will be destroyed!" His voice echoed through the empty hall, but it seemed unable to awaken those blinded by interests and prejudice. A kind teacher, looking at the hostile gazes of the children in class, felt a heavy heart. "These children should be the hope of the base, but now they are influenced by hatred. How will they build this base together when they grow up?" She spoke to her colleagues after class, her voice choking with tears. A veteran, once a brave warrior, now watched the chaos within the base with heartache. "We once fought together to defend our homeland. Now, are we destroying ourselves because of internal conflicts?" In his street speeches, he shouted at the top of his lungs, but was met with indifference and disregard. These insightful individuals fully understood the catastrophic consequences of a split in the Foundation. Yet, their voices seemed feeble amidst the surging tide of conflict, unable to halt the ever-approaching crisis. They could only continue their outcry in anxiety, hoping to awaken more people to reason and save this Foundation, which was on the verge of collapse.
To ease the taut tensions, beneath the shadow of the base, some brave and fearless individuals stepped forward, resolutely attempting to build the long-awaited bridge of communication between ordinary people and those with special abilities. A young woman named Lina, with unwavering conviction, took this difficult first step. She journeyed through the ordinary community, patiently listening to their complaints and requests. In each location, she spoke with gentle sincerity, saying, "We can't continue to hate each other like this. Let's work together to find solutions." Her eyes, filled with understanding and sympathy, sought to soothe the angry and hurt. In the special ability area, a middle-aged man named Tom also took action. Leveraging his prestige among the special ability community, he convened one forum after another. "We need to put aside our arrogance and prejudice and listen to the voices of ordinary people," his resounding words sought to break the ice within the special ability community. A group of volunteers from diverse backgrounds also organized a series of exchange activities. On a bright, sunny day, they set up a venue in the base's central square, laying out tables, chairs, and food, inviting both ordinary people and those with special abilities to participate. Initially, however, both sides were wary and hesitant, creating an awkward atmosphere. But these brave individuals persisted. Lina approached a hesitant ordinary person, smiling and extending her hand. "Come on, let's sit down and talk." Tom approached a hesitant special ability user and patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, this is a new beginning." Gradually, some people began cautiously stepping forward, trying to participate. They sat at the same table, initially silent. But as time went on, with the guidance and encouragement of the volunteers, some finally broke the silence and began whispering their thoughts and feelings. "Actually, we don't want special privileges, we just want to be treated fairly," a common person said in a trembling voice. "We're not trying to show off, we just want to contribute more to the base," a special ability user followed suit. While arguments and misunderstandings persisted, these small moments of communication, like a candlelight in the darkness, brought a glimmer of hope. These brave people know that building this bridge of communication will not happen overnight, but they firmly believe that as long as they persevere, they will be able to cross the deep gap and bring harmony and unity to the base again.
In a spacious, bright hall at the base, brave individuals meticulously organized a meaningful symposium. The hall's decor was simple yet warm, with neatly arranged round tables, topped with flowers and cups of water, creating a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. Before the symposium began, people filed into the hall. Ordinary individuals wore solemn expressions, filled with doubt and wariness; those with special abilities had mixed feelings, a mixture of anticipation for exchange and anxiety about potential conflict. The organizers stood on the stage, their gazes firm and sincere. One of the representatives declared, "Dear friends, we gather here today for our common home, for our future. We call on both sides to understand and tolerate each other, to let go of past prejudices and resentments." His voice echoed through the hall, causing a brief silence. Then, another organizer stepped forward and spoke sincerely, "We all live in this base, and our destinies are closely linked. Ordinary people, those with special abilities, aren't inherently superior; those with special abilities, ordinary people, too, have their value and contributions. We need to recognize each other's strengths and work together for the base's development." During the discussion, a regular person stood up, his voice slightly agitated, "We work hard every day, yet we can only watch those with special abilities enjoy better treatment. How can we understand this?" The atmosphere immediately grew tense. But soon, a person with special abilities also stood up. He took a deep breath and said, "Our privileges aren't for show, but to better complete the missions assigned by the base. But we also understand that this creates a sense of unfairness. We are willing to listen to everyone's ideas and work together to find solutions." As the discussion deepened, more and more people began to speak. Some shared their own hardships, some expressed misunderstandings about others, and some offered constructive suggestions. The organizers listened attentively, nodding in agreement and sometimes interjecting to guide the discussion. They encouraged everyone to empathize and imagine the other person's situation and feelings. "If we were in their shoes, how would we want to be treated?" one organizer asked. This question plunged everyone into contemplation, and a quiet hushed settled over the room. Then, some began to reflect on their own behavior and attitudes, and the atmosphere gradually softened. The discussion dragged on, until the last rays of sunset streamed into the hall through the windows. While the conflict between the two sides could not be completely resolved in a single discussion, this exchange at least opened a door to mutual understanding and tolerance, giving people hope for reconciliation.
