A small pool formed beneath the waterfall. The water was crystal clear, revealing the sand and small fish swimming beneath. Gently rippling the edges, the water created tiny circles of ripples. "Great! The water here looks clean," Su Yao said happily. A bright smile spread across her face, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She ran to the edge of the pool, squatted down, and gently touched the water with her hand, feeling the coolness. Xiao Yi also walked over to the pool, squatted down, and carefully examined the water. "It does look clean, probably drinkable," his voice tinged with joy and relief. Lin Meng stood nearby, her hands clasped together in front of her chest. "Great! We've finally found a source of clean water!" Tears welled in her eyes, the hardships and fatigue of the journey finally releasing them. Chen Hao and Zhao Lei also gathered around, each gazing at the pool before them, their hearts filled with joy and hope. Xiao Yi narrowed his eyes slightly, observing his surroundings with a sharp, focused gaze. Then, with a firm expression, he declared, "Let's build a simple filtration system here to bring water to the camp." His voice was steady and powerful, like a shot of reassurance. Without hesitation, everyone rolled up their sleeves and set to work. Some bent over, laboriously lifting stones of varying sizes and stacking them in an orderly fashion. Others traversed the nearby woods, carefully selecting suitable branches, then hurried back to meticulously weave them between the stones, reinforcing the structure of the simple device. Everyone's face was filled with earnestness, beads of sweat dripping down their cheeks onto the dry ground. But they were oblivious, their only concern being to quickly complete the filtration system and solve the camp's water problem. Through their concerted efforts, a simple yet hopeful filtration system gradually took shape.
They watched intently as the clear water, like a wisp of silver silk, slowly flowed toward the camp. The sunlight shimmered, its ripples shimmering as if in recognition of their efforts. Every drop of water carried their hopes and dedication, now joyfully rushing toward the camp to nourish the awaiting land. Their eyes were filled with relief and pride, their lips curling up unconsciously, revealing a genuine smile. The fatigue on their faces had long since given way to a sense of accomplishment, their hearts filled with joy. This clear water was not only the key to solving the camp's water problem, but also a symbol of their unity and collaboration in overcoming difficulties. Recalling the hardships of searching for the water source and the challenges of building the filtration system, all the sweat and effort seemed in that moment incredibly worthwhile. They looked at each other, and could see the common joy and satisfaction in each other's eyes, as if silently saying: "We did it!" At this moment, the camp seemed to be full of vitality and vigor because of the slowly flowing water. The gurgling sound of the water was like the most beautiful music, playing in everyone's heart, making them deeply intoxicated in this atmosphere full of a sense of accomplishment, and making them more convinced that as long as they are united, there will be no difficulties that cannot be overcome.
With the water problem solved, the next crucial task was to find food. Not wanting to slack off, everyone braced themselves and set out into the unknown jungle. Xiao Yi walked at the front of the group, scanning the surroundings with a sharp gaze. He carefully examined every tree, not missing any branches that might hold fruit. The others also dispersed, some searching the underbrush for any edible roots hidden within, while others looked up, trying to spot the wild fruits hanging high on the branches. From time to time, shouts of surprise rang out from the forest. "Lots of mushrooms here!" one team member exclaimed excitedly, his voice thick with excitement. Everyone rushed over, carefully picking the fresh mushrooms and placing them into their bags. Elsewhere, someone discovered a tree laden with bright red fruit. However, the tree was so tall that reaching the fruit was difficult. Everyone brainstormed ideas: some brought stones, others found long branches, and tried to knock the fruit down. After much effort, the fruits finally fell like raindrops, and everyone's faces were filled with the joy of harvest. Some people even found some plump fish and shrimp by the stream. They rolled up their trousers and cautiously stepped into the water, holding their breath, holding their hands tightly on their simple homemade fishing tools, ready to strike at any moment. The entire food-gathering process was full of challenges, but everyone helped each other, never missing any possible opportunity to obtain food, and worked hard to ensure the survival of the camp.
Although the forest is rich in resources, at first glance, lush trees stand tall and straight, their luxuriant branches and leaves intertwined, forming a vast expanse of green. The ground is densely covered with grass, dotted with a variety of wildflowers, creating a vibrant canvas. However, finding edible food is not easy. Many of those seemingly tempting wild fruits are inedible, and some are even highly poisonous. Before reaching out to pick a fruit, one must carefully distinguish and examine the shape, color, and texture of the fruit. A single mistake could lead to fatal consequences. Roots and tubers are even more difficult to find, requiring deep digging through thick leaf litter and damp soil. Often, after much effort, only to find a few tiny, inadequate roots. Mushrooms are also common, but accurately distinguishing between the edible and toxic ones requires extensive experience and expertise. Sometimes, one might think they have discovered a large, plump mushroom field, only to find themselves abandoned after careful inspection. And those small animals hiding in the underbrush are even more difficult to catch. They are extremely alert and will quickly flee at the slightest sign of trouble, disappearing without a trace. In this seemingly rich forest, every search for food is an adventure full of unknowns and challenges, requiring great patience and wisdom.
