Chapter 837: Fighting Together 46

"What...what is this?" Xiao Yi murmured in a low voice, with a hint of fear in his eyes.

The beast seemed to have smelled his scent and slowly approached him. Xiao Yi knew that he could not sit still and wait for death. He quickly took out the pistol from the space, aimed at the beast's head, and pulled the trigger.

"Bang!" The sound of gunfire echoed in the supermarket. The beast roared in pain, but did not fall down. It was hit in the head by a bullet, but the frost seemed to protect it, so it was only slightly injured.

Xiao Yi's heart sank, and he quickly ran towards the supermarket exit. The beast followed closely behind him, and its roar echoed in the empty supermarket, making people shudder.

He rushed out of the supermarket with all his strength. The cold wind blew in his face, almost suffocating him. He didn't dare to stop and ran towards his home. The roar of the beast gradually faded away, but Xiao Yi knew that he had not really escaped it.

He walked along the familiar street and finally saw the high-rise building he lived in. The apartment on the top floor was his only safe haven and his last hope in this apocalyptic world.

However, entering the building was not easy. The door was frozen, so Xiao Yi smashed a window with a fire axe and got in. The elevator in the building had long been out of service, so he could only climb up the stairs step by step.

Every step was like a race against death. The cold wind poured in through the broken window, and the biting chill almost made him lose consciousness. His breathing became more and more rapid, and the wound on his shoulder began to ache slightly.

Finally, he climbed to the top floor and opened the door of the apartment. A familiar warm breath hit him. The fire in the fireplace was still burning. Although the temperature in the room was not high, it was enough to make him feel a little safe.

Xiao Yi quickly closed the door, blocking the cold wind outside. He leaned against the door, gasping for breath, his body almost limp to the ground. He knew that he was finally safe, at least for the time being.

He walked to the fireplace and took out the supplies from the copper coin space one by one, piling them in the corner of the room. Food, water, medicine, clothes... these supplies were enough for him to survive for the next few days.

He sat by the fireplace, watching the dancing flames, but he didn't feel relieved. He knew that the outside world was still full of dangers, and the device and copper coin space in his hands would be the key to his survival in this apocalyptic world.

"What should I do next?" Xiao Yi murmured in a low voice, with a hint of confusion in his eyes.

On the third day after returning home, Xiao Yi began to feel something was wrong. His throat felt like it was on fire, his head was spinning, and his muscles were sore and weak. He wrapped himself in a thick blanket and huddled by the fireplace, but he still couldn't resist the chill that penetrated deep into his bones.

"Damn... am I catching a cold?" Xiao Yi murmured in a low voice, his voice so hoarse that it was almost inaudible.

He reached out and touched his forehead. The burning temperature made his heart sink. He knew he might have the flu. In this extremely cold weather, the flu was almost fatal, especially without medication.

He forced himself to take out a bottle of water and a box of antipyretic medicine from the copper coin space. However, when he opened the medicine box, he found that there were only the last two pills left.

"That's all..." Xiao Yi smiled bitterly, swallowed the pill and drank a sip of water.

He knew that these two pills would only temporarily relieve his symptoms and would not completely cure the flu. He had to find more medicine, otherwise his condition would only get worse.

However, the shortage of medicine is obvious. In this apocalyptic world, medicine has long become one of the most precious resources. Many people fight for medicine, even at the cost of their lives.

Xiao Yi leaned against the fireplace, listening to the howling wind outside, his heart filled with despair. He knew that he couldn't just sit there and wait for death. He had to find a way to find medicine, even if it was only a glimmer of hope.

Just then, he heard a faint knock on the door. Xiao Yi's heartbeat quickened, and he quickly gripped the fire axe at hand and looked towards the door vigilantly.

"Who?" he asked in a low voice, his voice hoarse and weak.

"Yes...it's me..." A familiar voice came from outside the door, with a hint of trembling.

Xiao Yi was stunned for a moment, then recognized the voice. It was the girl he had rescued in the mall. He hesitated for a moment, but finally forced himself to walk to the door and open it.

The girl stood outside the door, wrapped in a tattered cotton jacket, her face as pale as paper, her lips purple from the cold. In her hand, she tightly grasped a plastic bag containing several boxes of medicine.

"I... I found some medicine and want to give it to you..." the girl whispered, with a hint of pleading in her tone.

Xiao Yi's heart warmed up, he took the plastic bag, opened it and saw several boxes of antibiotics and antipyretics inside. He knew how precious these medicines were in the end times.

"Thank you..." Xiao Yi whispered, with a hint of gratitude in his tone.

The girl nodded, a trace of relief flashed in her eyes. She looked at Xiao Yi, hesitated for a moment, and whispered: "Can I...can I come in? It's too cold outside..."

Xiao Yi hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded. He knew that he couldn't just stand by and watch someone die, especially in this situation.

He let the girl into the house and closed the door to keep the cold wind out. The girl huddled by the fireplace, her face finally showing some color.

Xiao Yi divided some of the medicine, handed it to the girl, and whispered, "Take these medicines, just for precaution."

The girl took the medicine, a trace of gratitude flashing in her eyes. She looked at Xiao Yi and whispered, "Are you...are you okay? You look terrible."
