Heroic sacrifice of team members
"Ah!" A scream was heard. Xiao Yi looked back and saw a team member being knocked to the ground by a zombie. The zombie's claws were as sharp as steel knives, easily tearing through the team member's bulletproof vest. Blood gushed out, staining the ground red.
"Old Li!" Xiao Yi roared and rushed over to rescue him, but it was too late. More zombies surrounded him, drowning Old Li in the crowd.
"Captain, we can't hold on any longer!" another team member shouted. His arm had been bitten by a zombie and was bleeding.
Xiao Yi gritted his teeth and said, "Hold on! We can't give up!"
Xiao Yi's inner struggle
Watching his teammates fall one by one, Xiao Yi's heart was filled with pain and self-blame. He had vowed to protect every team member, but now he was powerless. His mind flashed back to the "Moonlight Tragedy" three years ago. That was the night he lost his right hand, and it was also the night he vowed to become stronger.
"Captain, we have to go!" Lin Xue's voice brought him back to reality. She was using Molotov cocktails to block the zombies' attack, but there were too many of them.
The difficult process of breaking through
"Everyone, follow me!" Xiao Yi shouted loudly, leading the remaining team members to break out to one side of the base. They had to cross an open area that was originally a plantation at the base, but now became a hunting ground for zombies.
"Be careful!" Xiao Yi suddenly shouted as a zombie pounced from the side. He quickly swung his high-frequency vibration dagger and cut off the zombie's head. But more zombies surrounded them, and their speed was too fast for the team members to completely avoid them.
"Ah!" Another team member was knocked down by a zombie, and his screams echoed in the night sky.
"Let's go!" Xiao Yi gritted his teeth. He knew that now was not the time to be sad and he had to break out as soon as possible.
Destruction of the base
Finally, they rushed out of the base, but the scene behind them was heartbreaking. The base was burning in a raging fire, and the roars of zombies and the screams of humans intertwined, like a sonata from hell.
"We...we failed..." A team member collapsed on the ground, his eyes filled with despair.
Xiao Yi took a deep breath and suppressed the grief in his heart. "No, we have not failed. As long as we are alive, there is hope."
The beginning of the escape
"We must leave here as soon as possible, the zombies will catch up with us soon." Lin Xue said, her face full of fatigue, but her eyes were still firm.
Xiao Yi nodded and led the remaining team members to escape towards the distant mountains and forests. They didn't know what was waiting for them ahead, but they knew that only by surviving could there be hope.
Difficulties on the road to escape
The escape wasn't smooth, as the zombies kept chasing them. They had to constantly dodge the zombies' attacks and search for food and water. Every night, they lived in fear, always prepared for the zombies' attacks.
"Captain, how long can we hold on?" asked a team member, his voice full of fatigue and despair.
Xiao Yi did not answer. He knew that now was not the time to think about this problem. They had to keep moving forward until they found a new refuge.
A ray of hope
Finally, after several days of fleeing, they arrived at a relatively safe area, where there were no traces of zombies, only a peaceful forest.
"Are...are we safe?" one of the team members asked, uncertainty in his voice.
Xiao Yi nodded, but his heart was still full of vigilance. He knew that the world was no longer safe and the threat of zombies was everywhere.
"We need to build a new shelter and start over." Lin Xue said, with hope shining in her eyes.
Xiao Yi took a deep breath. He knew that this was just a new beginning. They had to keep fighting until they found a truly safe place.
The suspense at the end
Just as they were about to settle down, a strange sound suddenly came from the distance. The sound was not like the roar of a zombie, but a more eerie sound.
"What is that?" one of the team members asked, his voice filled with fear.
Xiao Yi gripped the dagger in his hand tightly. He knew that a new threat was approaching. They must be prepared to meet the unknown challenge.
While on the run, Xiao Yi and his companions stumbled upon a mysterious ruin. The entrance to the ruins was buried beneath a massive rock, revealing only some bizarre symbols and patterns. These symbols seemed familiar, and Xiao Yi racked his brains, suddenly remembering seeing traces of the Sanxingdui civilization in ancient texts.
The process of discovering the ruins
"Captain, look over there!" Lin Xiao suddenly pointed to the mountain wall in the distance, with a hint of excitement in his voice.
Xiao Yi followed her finger and saw some strange symbols and patterns on the mountain wall. These symbols seemed familiar. He racked his brains and suddenly remembered that he had seen marks similar to the Sanxingdui civilization in some ancient books.
"This...this is impossible!" Xiao Yi muttered to himself, with a hint of shock in his eyes.
"What's wrong, Captain?" Lin Xiao asked, with a hint of uneasiness in her voice.
Xiao Yi took a deep breath, trying to calm his inner excitement. "I have seen these symbols in some ancient books. They belong to a lost civilization."
Clearing the entrance stones
"We have to go in and take a look." Xiao Yi said, with a hint of determination in his voice.
The team members nodded and began to clear the stones at the entrance. These stones were huge and heavy, but with their joint efforts, they finally revealed a narrow passage.
