Chapter 865: Blue Star Destruction 20

The apocalyptic wind roared like a giant beast, carrying clouds of dust and sand, relentlessly battering the windows of Xiao Yi's SUV with overwhelming force. The thuds and bangs threatened to destroy even this last refuge. Across the remaining land, desolation spread like an endless nightmare, spreading with despair. Since the year-long acid rain, the earth has been corroded and ravaged. Green has become a distant legend, replaced by a deadly gray. Xiao Yi sat in the driver's seat, gazing through the dust-covered window at the apocalyptic scene outside, feeling a mixture of emotions. Yet, deep within him, a sense of confidence remained undetectable to others: within his mysterious and unique space, fruits and vegetables flourished, lush and green. It was a secluded little world, seemingly untouched by time and disaster. Fresh, tender vegetable leaves stretched across the fertile soil, and red tomatoes hung from the branches, emitting an alluring aroma that provided him with the means to survive in this hopeless apocalypse. One day, Xiao Yi drove his RV to an abandoned town. Most of the buildings had collapsed, the shattered walls teetering in the strong wind, a glimpse of once prosperous and now desolate. Xiao Yi carefully navigated the ruins, vigilantly observing his surroundings, taking every step with extreme caution, for in this apocalyptic world, danger could strike at any moment. His goal was to search for any supplies he might have missed to replenish his dwindling reserves. As Xiao Yi leaned over a pile of shabby items, his gaze froze, his heart struck as if by an invisible hammer. Walking towards him was Han Che, his enemy from a past life. That demon, whose gentle smile always seemed to warm everyone's heart, yet whose hands were stained with blood and whose blood was stained with murder, flashed through Xiao Yi's mind. Tragic scenes from his past life flashed through his mind: Han Che, seeking to seize limited supplies and territory, had lured Xiao Yi into an elaborate trap. Xiao Yi's family and close friends had bravely stepped forward to protect him, only to tragically perish one by one at the hands of Han Che and his henchmen. The desperate cries of his family and the agonized groans of his close friends echoed in his ears, burning Xiao Yi's heart with a throbbing pain of hatred. Han Che, noticing Xiao Yi, also had a subtle flicker of surprise in his eyes, but his gentle demeanor quickly returned. His lips curled up in a seemingly friendly smile. "Hey, brother Xiao Yi, it's true that we meet everywhere in life, even in this apocalypse." His voice remained gentle, as if no deep hatred had ever existed between them. Xiao Yi suppressed the rage threatening to burst forth, coldly responding, "Han Che, don't try to get too close to me. I've always remembered the score between us, and I've never forgotten it." His eyes, like a sharp blade, pierced Han Che, filled with undisguised hatred. Han Che feigned innocence, spreading his hands, frowning slightly, a look of grievance on his face. "Brother Xiao Yi, is there some misunderstanding? We used to have a good relationship. These last days are tough, and we should support each other." Xiao Yi snorted, his voice like an icy winter wind, filled with disdain and disgust. Without another word, he turned resolutely and returned to the RV. He knew Han Che was now a powerful figure, surrounded by a group of loyal followers. In this last days, strength was the key to power. Acting impulsively and hastily seeking revenge would not only fail, but also expose the secret of his abundant resources. If Han Che learned of this, with his greed and ruthlessness, he would certainly do whatever it took, leaving Xiao Yi in a desperate situation. Xiao Yi returned to the RV and slammed the door shut, as if to shut out Han Che's hypocritical face. He leaned against the door, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath, trying to calm his frenzied emotions. But his mind was involuntarily turning to a plan of revenge. He knew Han Che was no pushover, and a successful revenge would require careful and meticulous planning. In the days that followed, Xiao Yi continued to roam the desolate world in his RV, searching for supplies and a safe haven. But secretly, he began to gather intelligence on Han Che. He used the scattered survivors he had met during the apocalypse, using small favors and sincere conversations to gather information about Han Che's power. Gradually, a picture of Han Che's influence began to form in Xiao Yi's mind. Han Che now occupies an abandoned factory as his base, transforming it into a fortress that's both easy to defend and difficult to attack. He's surrounded by fortifications, including watchtowers and barbed wire, and his men patrol the area day and night. Han Che's power in this apocalyptic world stems not only from his ruthlessness but also from his skillful manipulation of popular support. He lures those struggling to survive in the apocalypse with food and supplies, enticing them to serve him. Xiao Yi knows that his own strength alone is insufficient to break through Han Che's stronghold. He begins to look out for fellow survivors who share the hardships of the apocalypse and harbor a sense of justice. He meets a young man named Lin Qiang, an ordinary office worker who lost all his family to the apocalypse. Surviving alone in this harsh world, he has developed impressive survival and combat skills. Xiao Yi and Lin Qiang met during a supply heist, where Xiao Yi was battling a swarm of mutants. Lin Qiang intervened, and together they fought off the creatures. During their subsequent conversations, Xiao Yi discovered that Lin Qiang had also heard of Han Che's misdeeds and was filled with dislike for him. Xiao Yi, sensing Lin Qiang as a potential target for wooing, told him his grudge against Han Che and his plans for revenge. Lin Qiang's eyes blazed with anger, and he unhesitatingly pledged to join Xiao Yi in the fight against Han Che. Over time, Xiao Yi met several like-minded individuals, including Lao Zhang, skilled in mechanical repairs, Sister Li, a medical expert, and a group of young, energetic, and motivated individuals. They formed a small team. Though small, each possessed unique expertise and unwavering resolve. Xiao Yi began training the team members, developing customized training plans tailored to their specific strengths. Lin Qiang and the young men focused on combat skills, Lao Zhang researched how to breach Han Che's stronghold's defenses, and Sister Li used limited resources to craft simple medicines and medical equipment for emergencies. While training, Xiao Yi also focused on improving his own skills. He harnessed the special resources of the mysterious dimension to create potions that enhanced his physical fitness and combat capabilities. He was the first to take them, and after a period of adaptation and training, he noticed a significant increase in his strength, speed, and reflexes. He shared these potions with his team members, and everyone's strength improved to varying degrees. After a period of preparation, Xiao Yi felt the time was ripe for action against Han Che. He led his team in a stealthy approach to Han Che's base. When they were still some distance away, they paused to discuss their battle plan. Based on the intelligence he had gathered, Xiao Yi carefully analyzed the base's defensive layout and the patrol patterns of Han Che's men. He decided to split his forces into three groups. One group, led by Lin Qiang and several young men, would attack from the front to attract the enemy's attention and create momentum. Another group, led by Lao Zhang, would infiltrate from the side, destroying the fortifications and opening a gap for a subsequent attack. Xiao Yi himself would lead the remaining men, including Sister Li, to encircle the base from the rear, attacking directly in search of Han Che. The operation began. Lin Qiang and his men lit pre-prepared torches and, shouting loudly, charged toward the front of the stronghold. Han Che's men, hearing the commotion, poured out of the stronghold and charged toward Lin Qiang and his men. Lin Qiang and his men deftly maneuvered with the enemy, utilizing the surrounding terrain and pre-set traps to inflict casualties. Meanwhile, Lao Zhang and his men successfully infiltrated the flank and began sabotaging the fortifications. Using various tools, they carefully avoided enemy patrols, gradually dismantling the barbed wire and destroying the watchtowers. Xiao Yi led his team, stealthily approaching the stronghold from the rear. They advanced silently through the darkness like ghosts. As they neared the core of the stronghold, they heard a sudden commotion. Xiao Yi's heart tightened, and he signaled for everyone to halt. Cautiously probing forward, he found Han Che conferring with several of his men in a room. Han Che looked a little irritated, pacing around the room constantly, and said, "It's not very peaceful outside recently. Someone might be plotting against us. You all should be careful, increase patrols, and don't let anything go wrong."Xiao Yi was secretly delighted; he hadn't expected to find Han Che so easily. He gestured to the team members behind him, and they understood and quietly surrounded the room. Xiao Yi kicked the door open and shouted, "Han Che, your end has come!" Han Che and his men were startled by this sudden change, and they all stood up and frantically drew their weapons. Seeing Xiao Yi, Han Che's eyes flashed with fear, but he quickly regained his composure and sneered, "Xiao Yi, do you think you can defeat me so easily? I have so many men here, you can't escape today!" Xiao Yi ignored Han Che's provocation, raised his weapon, and said with a firm look in his eyes, "Han Che, I'm here to seek justice today. You must pay for your crimes!" With that, he rushed towards Han Che. Like tigers descending from the mountains, the team members engaged Han Che's men in a fierce battle. The room was filled with shouts and cries of killing, and the flashing of swords and sabers. The battle between Xiao Yi and Han Che was extremely fierce. While Han Che was ruthless, Xiao Yi's strength had greatly increased after recent training and potions. The two exchanged blows, neither yielding. Han Che's attacks were fierce and ferocious, but Xiao Yi deftly dodged and found opportunities to counterattack. During one fierce exchange, Xiao Yi seized the opportunity, dodging Han Che's blow with a sideways movement before delivering a powerful kick to the chest. Han Che was thrown back several steps, crashing onto the table. Before he could regain his balance, Xiao Yi lunged forward again, pressing his weapon to Han Che's throat. "Xiao Yi, if you kill me, you won't leave here alive!" Han Che gasped, his breath heavy. Xiao Yi sneered, "Do you think I'm afraid of you? Today you must pay for your actions in your past life!" He thrust his weapon towards Han Che with all his might. Han Che's eyes widened, filled with fear and resentment. As the weapon pierced Han Che's body, he let out a scream and fell to the ground. After defeating Han Che, Xiao Yi and his team quickly assisted in the battle elsewhere. By this time, Lin Qiang's frontal assault had drawn most of the enemy's attention, and Lao Zhang's team had successfully breached the fortifications, causing the enemy's defenses to crumble. Under attack from both sides, Han Che's men surrendered or fled. Gazing upon the devastated battlefield, Xiao Yi felt a surge of emotion. He had long planned this battle of revenge, expended immense effort, and now it had finally succeeded. He knew that while Han Che, a major threat, had been dealt with, the peril of the apocalypse remained. Yet, at that moment, his heart was filled with the exhilaration of victory over his enemy, and his resolve to survive and find hope in this apocalyptic world was strengthened. After clearing the battlefield, Xiao Yi and his team decided to transform Han Che's base into their new refuge. They extensively repaired and reinforced it, establishing a more comprehensive defense system. They also distributed Han Che's stockpiled supplies, using some for the team's daily needs and some for storage for emergencies. In the days that followed, Xiao Yi and his team began a new life in this new refuge. Utilizing the surrounding resources, they cultivated plants suitable for the apocalypse and raised small animals, gradually achieving self-sufficiency. As time passed, more and more survivors learned of Xiao Yi and his team's exploits and came to seek refuge. Xiao Yi welcomed these new members with open arms, teaching them how to survive in this apocalyptic world and how to combat mutants and other dangers. Under Xiao Yi's leadership, the stronghold once ruled by Han Che gradually blossomed into a refuge filled with hope and vitality. Here, people lived and worked in peace and contentment, working together to rebuild a beautiful home. Xiao Yi, in turn, became a beloved hero, using his wisdom and courage to write his own legendary story in this desolate apocalypse. The road ahead might still be challenging, but Xiao Yi firmly believed that with unity, they could overcome all difficulties and rekindle the flame of hope in this despairing land.
