Xiao Yi's eyes became firm. He knew that he had to take the initiative to attack in order to have a chance of survival. He wanted to build a safe base of his own, a place that could truly resist the threat of zombies and where he and other survivors could live in peace.
He began to imagine the ideal safe base in his mind, with strong walls, sufficient food and water, and complete defense facilities. He knew it was a huge challenge, but he was ready to face the difficulties.
Xiao Yi took a deep breath, stood up, and gripped the weapon tightly in his hand, ready to step out of the air-raid shelter to fight for his future and fight for that unattainable yet hopeful dream.
Xiao Yi took a deep breath and walked out of the air-raid shelter resolutely. The sunlight was a little dazzling, so he squinted his eyes and adjusted for a moment.
He walked down the mountain with a determined pace, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings, looking for a suitable place. Finally, he found a relatively flat land, overgrown with weeds, but with an open terrain.
Without hesitation, he immediately took action. He brought from the air-raid shelter a large amount of barbed wire that he had collected earlier. The barbed wire was heavy and rough, and each section was rusted and marked by the years.
He dragged the barbed wire with great effort, his hands were cut by the wire, blood oozed out, but he seemed not to feel it. First, he fixed one end to a thick tree, and then stretched the barbed wire around the selected area, circle by circle.
Every step he took was extremely difficult. The ground beneath his feet was sometimes soft, sometimes covered with rocks, making his steps stagger. But he gritted his teeth and insisted on not stopping.
When he encountered an obstacle, he would use tools to remove it, or find a way to change the direction of the wire mesh. Sweat fell like rain, soaking his clothes and blurring his vision, but he just wiped it away and continued to work.
As time went on, the barbed wire gradually surrounded a large area. Xiao Yi's movements became more and more skilled, and his speed gradually increased, but his physical strength was also rapidly consumed.
But his eyes remained firm, and he had only one thought in his mind: he must surround this place and build his own safe base.
Xiao Yi held on tightly to the heavy wire mesh, as if grasping the hope of survival. His arms were bulging with veins from exerting so much force, and his muscles were so tense that they trembled slightly.
He struggled to drag the wire, his steps heavy and slow. Every step felt like a struggle against invisible resistance. His soles sank deeply into the soft earth, and when he pulled them out, he kicked up a cloud of dust.
Xiao Yi's eyes were focused and determined, carefully examining every inch of land in front of him. He walked from one end to the other, and then turned back from the other end, not missing any corner.
He left deep footprints wherever he went, a testament to his perseverance. Every time he passed a place, he would stop and carefully observe the surrounding terrain, thinking about how to make the barbed wire fit better to ensure there were no loopholes.
Sometimes, when he encountered a protruding rock or a deep pothole, he would laboriously lift the wire mesh, bypass the obstacle, and then lower it again. Sweat flowed down his forehead, past his tightly closed eyes, past his tightly pursed lips, dripping onto the dry ground and disappearing in an instant.
But he didn't stop, continuing to drag the wire forward, step by step. His breathing became more rapid, his gasps echoing across the empty land. Yet, his resolve grew stronger: he must firmly protect this piece of land and create an impenetrable safe corner for himself.
Xiao Yi's hands tightly grasped the wire mesh, and the sharp wire mercilessly cut his palms. Blood quickly gushed out, flowing along his fingers, and soon dyed the worn gloves he was wearing red.
With each tug, the wire dug deeper into his wound, causing a sharp pain. He could feel the warm blood filling his gloves, sticky and damp, making his movements even more difficult.
However, there was no sign of retreat in Xiao Yi's eyes, as if he didn't even notice the pain in his hand. He kept his eyes fixed on the front, concentrating on the work at hand, wanting to complete the construction of the fence as soon as possible.
Pain spread throughout his body like an electric current. He frowned and clenched his teeth, but his hands did not slow down at all. He knew that pausing at this moment would mean all his previous efforts were wasted, and his hope of survival would become even slimmer.
Blood continued to seep out, completely soaking the gloves. Some blood even dripped onto the ground, forming small blood spots. But Xiao Yi still did not stop. With his tenacious will, he endured the severe pain and continued to drag the barbed wire, moving forward step by step.
In his heart, there was only one firm belief: no matter what the cost, he must create a safe shelter for himself, even if his hands were covered in blood.
Sweat poured down Xiao Yi's forehead, quickly soaking his hair and sliding down his cheeks like miniature waterfalls. His back was already soaked with sweat, and his clothes stuck tightly to his body, outlining his slightly thin figure due to fatigue.
The sweat kept flowing, even seeping into his collar and cuffs, bringing a sticky and uncomfortable feeling. But Xiao Yi seemed unaware of it, his entire attention focused on the task at hand.
Although sweat blurred his eyes, making his vision unclear, his eyes were still full of determination. It was a determination that would never retreat or give up, as if burning with two flames that would never be extinguished.
His eyes were fixed on the goal ahead, without a trace of hesitation or wavering. In those eyes, there was no trace of fatigue or fear, only hope and determination for the future.
