Chapter 104: Rebirth of the Ant Nest (Part 3)
Xie Mian spread his butterfly wings and flew northeast like a streak of light. Vines sprouted beneath Lin Heng's feet, their green vines scurrying along the ground. The two of them, one above and one below, covered a distance of two kilometers in a matter of minutes, landing safely at the edge of the "blank" area.
This area is an abandoned community.
Most of the buildings in the community have collapsed, and the few remaining ones are crooked, with dark green vines climbing all over the walls.
"roar--!"
The moment they stepped into the community, countless insect monsters of various shapes roared and rushed towards them.
These insect monsters were generally not of high level, mostly low-level ones. Lin Heng was about to activate the vines, but Xie Mian had already moved first.
"Brother, find the entrance."
As the cold voice fell, a silver-white long sword appeared out of thin air in Xie Mian's hand.
He didn't look at the insect monsters that were rushing towards him. White and green light suddenly burst out from his body, and a powerful sword force spread out with him as the center!
"Buzz—"
The might of the sword swept across, and the movements of those low-level insect monsters froze instantly.
The next second, their bodies collapsed from the inside out, and the insect stones in their bodies were shaken into powder, mixed with smelly blood, and spilled to the ground.
White and green light flowed around Xie Mian, making his already handsome face look even colder.
Lin Heng did not waste the opportunity created by his brother and immediately devoted all his attention to the search.
"This place is indeed covered by the 'territory'. My power cannot penetrate."
Lin Heng's expression was solemn. "But as long as it's a domain, there must be an 'anchor point' connecting it to the real world, that is, an entrance."
He pressed his hands on the ground, and countless tiny green vines spread out from under his feet, like living green snakes, crawling rapidly along the ground.
The vines slowly covered the entire area like a dense net.
They bypassed the rubble and drilled into the cracks, carefully exploring every place.
After clearing out all the insect monsters, Xie Mian walked to Lin Heng, his eyes closely following the moving vines.
Suddenly, his eyes fixed.
An exploratory vine dragged past an inconspicuous piece of gravel, seemed to touch something, and paused slightly.
Xie Mian had excellent eyesight and he clearly saw that there was a small, dusty object where the vine had just passed.
It's a bear-shaped cookie.
This biscuit instantly reminded him of the faint burnt smell he smelled when he was repairing the bus seats!
"elder brother!"
Xie Mian's voice was clear, with a hint of suppressed excitement.
Lin Heng immediately followed his gaze and saw the bear biscuit. The two of them exchanged glances and instantly understood each other's thoughts.
Found it!
Xie Mian walked quickly forward and squatted down carefully. He did not touch it with his hands immediately, but stretched out his fingers and slowly injected a trace of green insect energy into the bear biscuit.
Just when the insect could touch the biscuit, something strange happened!
The originally ordinary biscuit suddenly emitted a faint light, and the ground where it was located began to shake violently, raising dust.
Then, a bottomless black cave with a diameter of about two meters appeared in front of them out of thin air!
A damp, earthy smell wafted from the cave.
"E Shifang... Niuniu..."
Xie Mian muttered in a low voice, the cold murderous intent in his eyes almost solidified into reality.
Without hesitation, he gripped the long knife tightly and jumped into the cave.
Lin Heng followed closely behind. The moment he entered the cave, several tough rose vines quietly hid in the surrounding ruins, ready to respond at any time.
The cave does not go vertically downwards, but is a passage that slopes deep into the ground.
It was pitch black when we first entered, but as we went deeper, a faint yellow light shone from the depths of the cave. Along with the light, the children's laughter, as clear as bells, came in.
laughter?
Why is there laughter?
Xie Mian's grip on the hilt tightened a little. His expression didn't relax at all because of the laughter, but instead grew even more grim. Lin Heng also calmly slowed his pace and walked side by side with his brother, his mind highly focused.
One step, two steps, three steps... the laughter became clearer and the lights became brighter.
Just when the two were on high alert and ready for a fight, the scene before them startled them both.
What they saw before them was not the underground lair or the cruel and bloody place filled with iron cages as they had imagined, but a huge, brightly lit indoor playground.
The carousel rotates slowly along with the music, colorful ocean balls are piled up in the ocean ball pool, there are slides, swings, trampolines... countless amusement facilities, and dozens of children are playing happily in them.
Xie Mian recognized several familiar faces at a glance, they were the children who disappeared on the bus.
"Xiaohua, Niuniu..."
Hearing the shout, several children stopped playing and turned around in surprise.
When they saw that it was Lin Heng and Xie Mian, the smiles on their faces became even brighter and they ran over immediately.
“Big brother!”
"Are you guys coming to play too?"
More children ran out of the playground, some with stickers on their faces and some with paint on their hands.
They surrounded the two of them, chattering and shouting, their little faces flushed and beads of sweat hanging on their foreheads.
Seeing the children's expressions, Lin Heng felt relieved. He squatted down, touched a child's head, and asked softly, "Have you been playing here all the time? Has anyone bullied you?"
"No, it's so fun here! There are endless delicious food to eat!" Xiaohua answered excitedly.
Xie Mian's eyes quickly swept over every child present, "One, two, three, four..." There were twenty-one children in total, but there was no sign of E Shifang.
"Where's the big goose?" Xie Mian asked in a cold voice.
Niuniu, who was sucking her fingers with an innocent look on her face, thought for a moment and answered crisply, "Ee Ee is in the kitchen."
"kitchen?"
Xie Mian muttered, the long sword in his hand almost falling to the ground. He didn't dare to think too deeply, could it be that Goose Shifang had been...
Green flames swirled in Xie Mian's eyes, and the butterfly wings behind him suddenly opened from his shoulder blades.
"Where's the kitchen?"
He grabbed Niuniu's shoulders with such force that the little girl screamed.
Lin Heng immediately held his hand: "Mianmian, calm down, don't scare the child!"
Xie Mian took a deep breath and let go of his hand.
He rushed into the playground, his wings flapping, frantically searching for the "kitchen".
Where is the kitchen? Where is the door? Why is there no exit?
The transparent butterfly wings continued to grow rapidly. Just when Xie Mian was about to collapse and was about to overturn the amusement park, the scene of the amusement park suddenly changed and turned into a warm room.
Soft fabric sofas, a TV playing cartoons, bookshelves piled with fairy tales, and a dining table filled with steaming hot meals... Everything here is like the room of an ordinary family with children before the end of the world.
A middle-aged man wearing a cartoon apron came out with a plate of freshly baked bear cookies that still smelled of burnt food. He said with a loving expression:
"Eat your cookies, kids!"
The man was slightly plump, with a warm smile. He walked out from the kitchen.
