Chapter 159: Taking Charge

She always felt like she couldn't keep up with the changes in the world. Who would have thought that after the apocalypse, she would encounter such a thing just to survive. As expected, time will tell.

"Professor, why isn't this called a black hole?"

"Have you ever seen it black?"

"No..." Luo Shaoan took a step back uneasily.

The physics professor glanced at Luo Shaoan and asked, "Do you think that everything that can travel to another dimension is called a black hole?"

"This... isn't it? Haha, professor, I just remembered that I should change my post. I'll go first!" Staring at the professor's angry eyes, Luo Shaoan took a few steps back, turned around and ran away.

He has been afraid of academic bullies since he was in school. The professor in front of him is an old academic bully, and he can't afford to offend him.

When he thought of the academic bully, he remembered how he had been beaten by his father many times. Luo Shaoan decided to have less contact with these academic nerds in the future.

Xu Xuening walked over and saw various experts in physics, astronomy, and aerospace sitting there, excitedly discussing the singularity above their heads.

Although drones have been sent there to prove that the other side is indeed a location in the universe, it is still impossible to determine which direction in the universe it is.

"We must send people there as soon as possible to find a suitable planet."

"I don't think so. What if we run into that planet? Wouldn't that increase our danger?"

"They've told us we have thirty years to prepare. If we don't hurry up now, are we going to be wiped out? If we don't fight now, when will we fight? Are we going to fight until we die?"

"Old Gu, I told you to slow down and watch your back." Looking at Professor Gu from the School of Physics, Professor Yin quickly patted him. Now, these national treasures had actually witnessed this scene in their lifetime, and their lives had become much more exciting.

What do those things above their heads mean? They mean they may be about to cross over into a new era.

However, this is also the most difficult.

No one knows what lies in the universe ahead.

"It's always better to be cautious. Old Gu, please sit down. Don't let your career progress, or you get yourself hurt, or we have to waste resources to send you back." The dean observed Old Gu's excitement. He was still the same passionate young man he was twenty years ago, nothing had changed. Over the years, Old Gu had probably only grown older; his spirit remained almost unchanged. No wonder he had never been nominated for the position of dean.

Seeing that the director of the main hospital had called his name, Old Gu puffed out his cheeks and stomped his feet on the spot like a child before he sat back in his seat.

"Dean Yin, if there is a space exploration experiment, I will be the first to sign up. I am in good health, unlike Lao Gu who has a herniated disc." Another professor stood up and expressed his determination.

Hearing this, Lao Gu became anxious. "I have a herniated disc and high blood pressure, so you're not suitable for space!"

"Who said that? I was fine when I had a checkup two years ago." The professor lied without blushing or beating his heart.

Watching them bicker over the first spot in the sky, Xu Xuening simply found a bag of sunflower seeds and ate them while watching the drama unfold. It turns out professors can be so interesting, completely losing their polite demeanor over this; they're so lively.

Wei Zizhou, who was far away, passed on his confidence to Xie Yan.

"I was wondering why you were protecting Xie Luo, so this is the reason." After listening to Wei Zizhou's explanation, Xie Yan figured out all the confusions.

He had been curious before. He had clearly told Wei Zizhou about the zombie virus, but he didn't hear about Xie Luo's death. Instead, he heard that Wei Zizhou led people to persuade those protesters who were shouting for killing to go back.

At the time, he had raised an eyebrow in curiosity. From his understanding of Wei Zizhou, he didn't seem to be such a heartless person. Now that he understood, he actually had some respect for Wei Zizhou.

After all, Xie Luo, the man everyone wanted to kill, was the closest to Wei Zizhou. He had a thousand reasons to kill him, but he chose to endure it. This was more painful than killing himself. He endured this blood feud for the future of Earth and for the survival of humanity. Wei Zizhou had truly grown up, a far cry from his earlier, immature ways.

This kind of thing may not be caused by the end of the world. What on earth did he encounter that made him learn to think and endure in this way?

"Why are you looking at me?" Wei Zizhou felt a chill run down his spine. He caught a glimpse of Xie Yan's fleeting gaze, a faint glimpse of scrutiny. These past few days, under Uncle Haichuan's guidance, he had learned many skills he'd never heard of before, like training his senses, which had allowed him to avoid numerous assassination attempts.

Seeing Wei Zizhou's bright eyes, Xie Yan closed them. He had been managing this area recently, and he seemed to have become much lazier. As expected, one needs to weather storms in order to grow better.

"Have you had anything to do recently?" Xie Yan asked casually.

Wei Zizhou shook his head. "Xie Luo's safety has been handed over to ordinary guards. I've withdrawn now. I have nothing to do at the moment. What's the matter?"

Xie Yan nodded, "Well, I need your help with something."

Wei Zizhou was shocked when he heard Xie Yan say please. After all, they escaped from the same place, and Xie Yan helped him a lot along the way, but he had never heard Xie Yan say please.

Wei Zizhou immediately asked, "What's the matter?" If Xie Yan asked him to come, it must be a big deal.

The light in Xie Yan's eyes flashed behind his glasses, and before Wei Zizhou could grasp the meaning of that look, he heard, "I need to go on a mission. The management of the East District is now in your hands."
