Looking at him, Wei Zizhou's clenched hands were almost bleeding. He looked at Xie Luo with red eyes, gritting his teeth, his gums bleeding, but he felt nothing.
Xie Luo continued to laugh and looked at the people in front of him.
The expressions on their faces at that moment were the same as the ones he had seen on the others back then: they all wanted to kill him. But, in the end, what happened? James had gone from wanting to kill himself to swearing to protect him to the death.
Why?
Because what he did was right. People will eventually die. From another perspective, those humans who became zombies would, within a century, turn into dust on this planet, a source of nutrients for other creatures to continue living. They would decompose into nutrients, perpetuating the cycle of life. But if he hadn't done this, what if humanity had completely vanished in a century? Without even a single nutrient, and with all of humanity's genes ultimately extinguished, what would be the point of these billions of people living for a few more decades?
Xie Luo never felt that he had done anything wrong. He simply bore a fate that no one else could bear. He became an executioner.
"After all, you just think you are right." Xie Yan looked at Xie Luo. Regarding his behavior, Xie Yan obviously knew his ancestor's thoughts better.
"That's right. I saved humanity's fate, so shouldn't I be praised? God has bestowed this honor upon my body for a reason. Look, those people are coming, and our own qualities are only at the surface level. How can we be qualified to fight them?"
"If I weren't the catalyst that allowed more people to become Evolvers, how would we have a chance of winning? How could humanity progress?"
After hearing Xie Luo's words, Xu Xuening looked at Xie Yan and Wei Zizhou beside him. At this moment, she felt a little regretful. It seemed so ironic at this moment that she had killed the zombies and taken away the crystal.
Their every move had already been planned by this person.
The fate of all mankind is also in this person's plan.
Sadly, these things could have been avoided.
"Are you so sure that the Earth cannot win? Can't humans defend their home?" Xu Xuening looked at Xie Luo, not knowing whether she was asking him or herself.
"In this battle overhead, do you think humanity has a chance of winning?" Xie Luo looked at Xu Xuening sarcastically. "We haven't even left the Milky Way yet, and others have already arrived at our doorstep with weapons. Do you still think we're that strong?"
Every word he said came from his heart, but it was like a dagger that wanted to pierce through everyone's self-comforting lies and puncture their unfounded optimism.
In Xie Luo's view, the current war was unwinnable. All he could do was use extreme means to accelerate human evolution and protect humanity from being devoured.
He never resented fleeting things, preferring a long-term perspective over the fleeting nature of human fate. Having long seen through the mundane world of emotions, he was exceptionally swift in his actions against unrelated individuals, never dragging his feet or letting his emotions get in the way. Therefore, the consequences he would bear would inevitably be heavy.
"You've thought of everything, but have you ever thought of the unexpected?"
After a moment of silence, Xie Yan finally spoke. At this moment, his voice was calm, almost like cold porcelain, crisp and transparent.
"Accident! In such a matter of life and death, do we still have to wait for an accident to save the fate of mankind?"
Shelo replied.
"Since you already knew it was a matter of life and death, you did what you wanted. Liezu, you only saw aliens invading Earth, and you wanted to sacrifice 7 billion people to fight fire with fire. Have you ever considered that there are more alien planets, and have you ever thought about other possibilities for seeking help?"
"Who are you asking for help? I've already said it before, we haven't even flown out of the Milky Way, who can we ask for help? What's more, we have such a fragile planet, what can you offer?"
"So, you used the worst possible method." Xu Xuening looked at the man in front of her. "You know, we have already contacted people from other planets. When the time comes, there will be external aid to help us."
"What if it's another invader?" Xie Luo, a pessimist, asked bluntly.
"Compared to now, is there anything worse?" Xie Yan looked at Xie Luo sarcastically, "Thanks to you, we ended up killing each other before those people invaded."
Xie Luo's face flushed slightly. He rarely got angry, but when he looked at the unworthy descendants in front of him, he suddenly felt that maybe he shouldn't have left any descendants. They would only serve to anger him.
Everyone knows that the current situation is that distant water cannot put out a nearby fire. The aliens above their heads keep smashing towards them, leaving holes one after another, almost filling up the entire vegetable garden, but they can't drive them away.
Xie Luo looked at the people in front of him. They all looked pensive and seemed to be pretending to be so noble. If one day they were in his position, the way they handled things might be even worse than his. At least, he chose to bear this crime against humanity alone.
"What should we do about the things that happened above us?" Although he knew how foolish Xie Luo had been, it had already happened. What else could he do? Even sending Xie Luo back to life wouldn't solve the current problem. Xu Xuening looked at them.
The agreement was to capture Xie Luo and hand him over to the police. There was a war going on, and the trial would have to wait until after the war. All they could do now was keep an eye on the man in front of them.
