After that, Xu Xing disbanded the team and told the other squads to return via the normal route.
He led the rest of the group to continue clearing out the zombies around them. There weren't any particularly exciting scenes; it was mostly small skirmishes involving hundreds of zombies.
The only minor incident was the discovery of a small but significant force within a nearby four-star hotel, consisting of approximately a hundred people, including twenty or thirty individuals with superpowers.
Thanks to the large-headed zombies gathered in Central Park, this group is doing relatively well. They have looted all the supplies in the surrounding hotels and don't lack anything.
Unlike most forces that follow the dark laws and attack immediately upon encountering Xu Xing, they only yield after recognizing the situation.
Instead, they happily struck up conversations, with one of the leaders, Su Qiang, even greeting Xu Xing warmly and inviting them over to sit down, thus easing the tense atmosphere.
Of course, it's also possible that they saw that Xu Xing's group was not to be trifled with.
Xu Xing was not a bloodthirsty person. He already had plenty of resources at hand and didn't need to kill more than a hundred of his own for a little bit of profit.
Things are different now. Xu Xing still needs to consider the situation in the entire Jinghai City. The reality is that, although the army had previously come to sweep through the city, and he himself had led so many people to actively resist, the situation in Jinghai City is still stable.
They successfully depleted some of the zombies' strength, but within the city, there is still a gap in strength between humans and zombies.
Every force, large or small, within the city will become a frontline in the fight against zombies; every inch they can preserve is precious.
Upon hearing that Xu Xing and his group were from the villa area, Su Qiang immediately changed his attitude and showed extreme respect.
He praised Xu Xing highly.
Su Qiang got to know Xu Xing through the large number of leaflets that Xu Xing had previously sent people to distribute in the city.
Xu Xingming didn't mince words. After a few casual replies, he asked Su Qiang if he would be willing to join the villa area so they could look out for each other. He promised Su Qiang a small team leader position.
"This... Brother Xu, you're too kind. I don't have that ability. I'll just stay here with my men and make a good living." Su Qiang looked very conflicted.
Xu Xing was not surprised by this expected outcome. Since Su Qiang's side had not been attacked by zombies, he assumed that it was safe here and naturally did not want to go there to become someone else's vassal.
Since he didn't want to come, Xu Xing didn't force him. For him, a formally organized team coming was a potential problem. If it were just a small group of people coming in batches, it wouldn't matter how many came. But a formally organized team would inevitably form cliques.
In the end, the team didn't linger. Before leaving, they had a serious talk with Su Qiang, telling him to build defensive fortifications around the area, as the zombie army was very likely to come.
Before they knew it, it was getting late. To prevent any accidents from happening, the team decided to stop and head back home.
After safely returning to the villa area and cleaning up today's spoils, most of the teams had already returned.
Currently, Xu Xing has more than a dozen squads under his command, each with at least one hundred people, all of whom are superhumans.
The captain of each squad must be at least level four, which is one of the necessary conditions for becoming a captain.
After the team returned, Xu Xing listened to the reports from each team, and his expression was not good.
"How could the loss be so great!"
Enraged, Xu Xing slammed a half-eaten apple core onto the ground. The core was crushed to pieces the moment it hit the ground, making a cracking sound.
Hearing that heartbreaking sound, Xu Xing wished he could immediately break open the heads of some of his squad leaders and take a good look at them to see if they were filled with mush.
"I gave you the casualty targets, not so you could lead your men to your deaths. You know you can't win, but you still want to try? Did you just fart on your walkie-talkies?"
Apart from Ye Kai, Zhao Jie, Zhou Feng, and the Wang brothers, the casualties in the rest of their teams all exceeded my expectations. The rest of you, come with me.
Bang!
Xu Xing impatiently kicked open the door, waved to the others, and turned on the walkie-talkie to tell Su Xixi to bring Bailing over, as there was work to be done.
Previously, every time members were recruited, they would be tested using Bai Ling. Among them were spies sent by various forces, or those with ulterior motives, etc., and they were basically dealt with on the spot.
Those who manage to remain within the faction are mostly those who have been approved.
Therefore, when appointing people, Xu Xing didn't agonize over it too much. Basically, as long as they were qualified, that was enough. He rarely considered their character.
Given the current situation, we still need to conduct another test.
Those who followed had different expressions; some were rather resentful, since they had indeed followed the internet access quotas, even though the losses didn't match the gains.
A few individuals, however, showed fear. Most of them were arrogant and domineering, and did not care about the deaths of their subordinates, which is why such a huge consequence occurred.
Soon, Xu Xing led them to an abandoned villa, where Su Xixi also arrived with Bai Ling.
Xu Xing pulled Su Xixi to stand next to him and took Bai Ling, who had a resentful look on her face, from her hands.
Xu Xing gently stroked Bai Ling's soft fur and said softly, "Are you loyal to me? Answer yes or no!"
At the end of his sentence, his tone rose sharply and became increasingly harsh, turning from an inquiry into a reprimand. Even Bai Ling in his arms was startled and shuddered.
