Chapter 66 Little Girl Sweetie

Ye Kai, supporting his stomach, lay face down on the carpet.

He patted his round belly and said, "The pork kidneys truly live up to their reputation."

Wang Hu put the last piece in his mouth and said, "Indeed, this mutated pork kidney is not only of better quality, but it's also really filling. If the four of us ate as much as we wanted, we could eat it all."

I reckon two suckling pigs wouldn't be enough, but now that I've eaten this kidney, I feel incredibly energetic, like I could find a zombie to fight.

After wiping his mouth with a tissue, Xu Xing smiled and got back to business: "Ye Kai, how do you feel after eating the kidneys?"

Ye Kai let out a burp and replied somewhat awkwardly, "Like Wang Hu and the others, I've recovered from all the losses I suffered before, so I reckon we can start sweeping again."

Hearing this, Xu Xing felt relieved. He used his hands to support himself as he stood up and stretched. Although the four of them had been eating for an hour, sharpening the axe didn't delay the work of chopping wood. They were in better condition now than before they set off.

Now that he had eaten and drunk his fill, Xu Xing prepared to deal with other matters.

Looking at the various sizes of the spotted pig carcasses in the room, Xu Xing felt a surge of joy. At least for a long time to come, he would no longer lack the meat of these mutated beasts.

He touched and collected them one by one with his hands, and soon all the "ingredients" in the room were put into his space.

Xu Xing turned around and repeated the precautions to Ye Kai and the others several times, emphasizing that next time they encountered a target they couldn't grasp, they should just skip it.

As long as it's recorded, Xu Xing will handle it himself later.

Just as Xu Xing was about to step onto the windowsill to leave, he suddenly noticed some noises outside the room.

A series of noisy footsteps approached from the top and bottom of the stairs.

"Is it human?"

Xu Xing, who had initially leaned out halfway, turned back, a mocking smile on his face.

I already learned when I had dinner with Ye Kai and the others that they hadn't explored the top floor.

However, judging from the size of those mutated pigs, it's not hard to guess that they most likely wiped out all the survivors or zombies on this and the layer above.

Unexpectedly, there were still living creatures up there, which piqued Xu Xing's curiosity.

As Xu Xing turned back, Xia Chenyue was about to ask the reason when she suddenly stopped talking, clearly having realized something.

Ye Kai became a little nervous. After experiencing that spotted pig, his temperament gradually became more mature, and he was no longer as naive as before, thinking that the boss was first and I was second.

Ye Kai gripped the axe, quietly stood up, and hid to the side of the wall by the door.

The main gate of this house had been destroyed during the previous battle, and now, looking inside from the outside, one could see almost nothing at all.

"Girl, what's the situation inside? Is it dangerous?" A sharp, sarcastic voice came from inside.

Then a somewhat childish girl's voice answered weakly, "Auntie, it seems there's no danger. Those big pigs seem to be gone."

"Then you should go and take a look quickly." This time it was a boy, and his tone had a hint of command.

As soon as the words were spoken, a strong arm pushed the head of a girl, about ten years old, with a ponytail, into the room.

Suddenly, the little girl and Ye Kai stared at each other, wide-eyed.

When Ye Kai saw that it was a little girl, he relaxed his guard and, thinking she was cute, grinned at her with a creepy smile.

"ah!"

The little girl screamed and tried to run away as fast as she could.

Ye Kai scratched his head awkwardly. Behind the little girl, a middle-aged couple appeared. The man was tall and burly, somewhat like a European strongman, but his face looked extremely weak. The woman was obese and had a sharp and mean expression.

The middle-aged man, realizing there was no danger and that there was only one person inside, grabbed the little girl who was trying to run away and slapped her innocent face.

"What are you yelling for? What's the danger?"

After the man finished beating her, the woman grabbed the girl by the ear and angrily said, "Little girl, are you lying to us? There's no pig bigger than a car!"

It's you who caused us to be stuck in this dark room for so many days. If it weren't for the moldy steamed buns in there, I might have been killed by you long ago. And that water-releasing function of yours, I think you're the monster..."

This old woman, once she starts talking, she goes on and on, and all sorts of foul language comes out of her mouth.

Xu Xing was also extremely disgusted by what he heard, so he roared, "Enough!"

The powerful sound sent a chill down the spine of the couple, and the man was about to turn around and scold them when...

The old woman, as if she had discovered a new continent, pointed to the ruins in the kitchen and exclaimed, "Honey, look! There are sausages!"

This family clearly liked to eat ham sausages and had kept quite a few in their kitchen cabinet. When Ye Kai bumped into them, a lot of them naturally spilled out.

The couple ignored Xu Xing and the others, leaving the girl behind. They ran to the kitchen, rummaged through the sausages with their hands, and even tore open the packaging with their mouths, stuffing them all into their mouths.

"Honey, it's delicious. After so many days, we can finally eat normal food again. Luckily, that little girl can produce water, otherwise she would either starve or die of thirst."

As the old woman swallowed, Xu Xing glanced at the girl standing at the doorway, her right cheek slightly swollen. Even so, she held back her tears.

However, he kept his lips pursed and kept swallowing.
