There's something going on in Chapter 61.

Xu Xing is like a tireless machine, constantly shuttling between floors.

Even when acting alone, one can still be very efficient.

When dealing with zombies, use a scalpel at a distance and a steel knife at close range. As your movement ability improves and your control over your strength increases...

The situation where a steel knife would chip and dull when cutting down a regular zombie, as it was before, will no longer occur.

Moreover, if Xu Xing wanted, he could even use the bones of zombies as "whetstones".

During the process of clearing the building, a few survivors were found. After so many days, everyone's survival status and behavior were different.

Some survivors, after realizing the danger and various situations, went out in a planned manner to search for survival supplies in the surrounding area and used everything they could to store water.

Then they were completely locked inside the house, planning how to use the supplies. Although they were still living in fear every day, at least they managed to survive.

If Xu Xing hadn't been strong enough, he might not have been able to push open the door that was piled with clutter.

These people were all in relatively good spirits. The moment they saw Xu Xing, they burst into tears and knelt on the ground to thank him for rescuing them.

Come to think of it, even with their well-planned schedule, if Xu Xing doesn't come and hasn't awakened any special abilities, he might starve to death in his room after the food runs out.

Alternatively, wait for the zombies to evolve, break down the door, and eat him.

There is another type of person who, during a zombie outbreak, survived by sheer luck but was too scared to leave their room. Lacking any planning, they quickly ate everything in their room.

Those with little food had already starved to death when Xu Xing entered, while those with more food managed to survive, though most of them developed some mental problems.

Xu Xing, acting purely out of humanitarian concern, simply said that they could meet at the property management office; whether they could go, or not, was up to fate.

For those who were completely insane, Xu Xing gave them the quickest way to die. They didn't even have time to scream before their foreheads were pierced, their central nervous systems destroyed, and they felt no pain.

Xu Xing calmly walked to the top floor of the building. The various problems in front of him had no effect on him, who was a veteran of many battles, but for others, it might be an opportunity to reshape their values.

Just as they were about to step off the stairs, a suppressed roar came from the attic.

"Finally, it's time for the real main course."

A smile spread across Xu Xing's lips.

The next moment, a burly figure burst open the wooden door of the attic.

The zombie charging towards them was hunched over in a strange C-shape, with half of its face rotting and the bones exposed.

Xu Xing estimated that if this zombie could stand up, it would be at least 2.3 meters tall. He wondered if it was like this before it mutated, or if it suddenly became like this after the mutation.

The burly zombie itself was not weak; judging from the level of energy it leaked out, it had already evolved into a level two zombie.

Moreover, the little incident of smashing the wooden door just now indicates that it's not as simple as just entering level two.

Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the steel blade and giving it a chilling, piercing gleam.

Xu Xing flipped the blade and took a step forward.

Bang!

The zombie's jaw was smashed with a sword.

The immense force actually straightened the zombie's twisted form slightly.

Roaring, it continued charging forward, its feet even stomping so hard that they crushed some of the surrounding tiles.

Xu Xing snorted coldly and sheathed his knife behind his back: "Hmph, want to compete in toughness?"

He was lifted into the air, and the wooden planks around the stairs peeled and broke as Xu Xing used his telekinetic power.

In some places, the steel bars at the stair railings were even exposed.

Boom!

Some of the steel bars, pulled by the enormous force, directly shattered the concrete next to them.

More and more steel bars gathered around Xu Xing. With just a couple of arm swings forward, these straight steel bars, like unsheathed swords, pierced towards the zombies.

Even a level two zombie is like paper in front of the steel bars reinforced with strength; it crumbles at the slightest touch and is pierced through the body.

Xu Xing simultaneously clenched his hands toward the center, and the thick steel bars bent inside the zombie's body, completely enveloping it.

Xu walked up to the zombie, looking at it with immense anger, yet unable to move forward even half a step due to the steel bars binding it. He simply pointed forward with his finger, and a deep pit appeared on the zombie's head.

With a sudden pull backward, a prismatic crystal was sucked out.

"Not bad, not bad, it's a pleasant surprise."

Xu Xing was initially puzzled as to why the rooftop attic, which had little in the way of supplies, could be upgraded to level two.

Now it seems that it was originally an alien zombie, so breaking through to level two is not a big deal.

Xu Xing put the crystal core into the small cloth bag he carried with him and weighed the bag a couple of times.

My mood seemed to have improved significantly.

At this moment, he is in Ye Kai's team.

Ye Kai used both hands to lift a thin zombie and slam it against the wall. He excitedly pried out the crystal core and spoke to Wang Lei and the others who were rushing over from behind.

"Keep going, this building only has two floors left."

Wang Hu, panting, said from behind, "Ye Kai, you walked way too fast! Aren't you going to take care of the survivors behind you?"

Ye Kai smiled awkwardly: "Well, they won't die anytime soon anyway. Seeing us means they're safe, and they'll come out on their own."

Wang Hu curled his lip and joked, "Look at yourself, you look more like a zombie than a zombie. The last few times people saw you, their first thought was to run away. Luckily, the two of us were behind them."

Despite their complaints, Wang Hu and his brother were extremely fortunate to be grouped with Ye Kai. They didn't even have to do much physical labor. The moment they encountered zombies, before the brothers could even make a move, Ye Kai had already taken care of them.

"Alright, alright, let's hurry up and go up to the next floor. I wonder if the boss is progressing as fast as us." Ye Kai smiled and waved, gesturing for Wang Hu and the others to go up.

The Wang brothers exchanged a glance and followed helplessly.

"Huh? Brother Ye Kai, something seems off about this floor. Why aren't there any zombies?" Wang Hu, carrying a steel knife, looked around at the doors of the surrounding houses.

"Perhaps it was cleared out by that group of people," Ye Kai replied casually.

Suddenly, Wang Lei shouted, "Something's wrong!"
