Chapter 23: Renting a House
Mother Fu wanted to say a few more words, but was stopped by Father Fu.
The old couple had a fierce fight, and Jiang Xin was completely unaware of it.
Jiang Xin did not tell Fu's parents that she wanted to rent a house and move out.
Firstly, it was totally unnecessary, and secondly, this was all a trivial matter, and she didn't want to reveal a single word before it was confirmed.
When she actually rented a house, she just packed her bags and left. She was determined to leave at that time, and even if Fu's mother wanted to stop her, there was no way.
On the way, Jiang Xin had always been in good physical condition, so this journey of just twenty minutes was not difficult for her at all.
When arriving at the main entrance of the vegetable market, Jiang Xin looked down at the watch on her wrist.
She arrived five minutes earlier than she expected.
She first strolled around the vegetable market, intending to find food as planned.
To be honest, she didn't know much about this vegetable market.
After all, the original owner had never been here before, and his memory of this town was almost blank.
As of yesterday afternoon, it was her first time to come to this vegetable market.
Jiang Xin walked in the direction of the crowd, while aimlessly searching for breakfast, she was also paying attention to which stalls were empty.
If it's suitable, she can also reserve a seat in advance.
I wandered around aimlessly for about ten minutes.
Jiang Xin sniffed and suddenly smelled a unique scent of food.
A bit like leek box?
Jiang Xin's eyes lit up instantly.
She had just walked for half a day and was actually feeling a little hungry at this moment.
She searched around and sniffed, and sure enough, she saw a breakfast stall not far away.
And what the stall owner is frying in his pot are fresh chive dumplings that have not yet come out of the oven, right?
Jiang Xin immediately ran over and asked for two chive dumplings, and then a bowl of tofu pudding.
The proprietress was a middle-aged woman. After Jiang Xin finished speaking, she said very straightforwardly:
"Okay. The chive dumplings will take a while to come out of the pot."
"Go sit at the table in the back and wait for a while."
Jiang Xin nodded and looked to the back of the stall.
Because it is a mobile stall, the stall location is different every day.
Therefore, the owner of the breakfast stall placed a few portable tables nearby so that if anyone came to have breakfast, they could sit there.
The proprietress was very quick and efficient. Jiang Xin had only sat down for two or three minutes when two steaming hot leek dumplings were brought to the table where Jiang Xin was sitting.
Then there was tofu pudding. I don’t know how the proprietress prepared the sauce, but it smelled so delicious.
Jiang Xin's appetite was immediately aroused.
She picked up the chopsticks, picked up the chive dumpling and took a bite. The crust was crispy and the filling was salty and delicious. It was so delicious that it could not be described as ordinary.
Simply delicious.
The crispy chive dumplings paired with tofu pudding made Jiang Xin feel so satisfied after eating them.
For a moment, she even thought.
Otherwise, she can rent a house near this vegetable market in the future.
She is not very good at cooking. If she lived nearby, she could eat such delicious chive dumplings every morning when she woke up. She felt happy just thinking about it.
After Jiang Xin finished eating, she originally wanted to call the proprietress over so that she could pay and leave.
But when she looked up, she saw the proprietress there, chatting animatedly with a customer.
It looks like they are chatting about some gossip.
Jiang Xin suddenly had an idea. She was not familiar with this place, but the owner of this breakfast shop must be very familiar with the surroundings!
Anyway, Jiang Xin's intuition told her not to underestimate the gossip circulating among these vendors.
Maybe she could go ask the landlady later to see if she knew any houses for rent.
Jiang Xin doesn't have the bad habit of interrupting other people's conversations rashly.
Since she still had time, she just sat there and waited quietly for the proprietress to finish chatting with the customer before disturbing them.
I don’t know how long it took, but the proprietress finally finished chatting with the customer.
Seeing that her business was not busy, Jiang Xin waved and called the proprietress to come over.
Jiang Xin first praised the boss lady's cooking skills. After paying for the meal, Jiang Xin asked what was in her mind:
"Madam, I want to ask, do you know if there is any vacant house nearby that can be rented out?"
Obviously, Jiang Xin asked the right customer this time.
As soon as Jiang Xin finished speaking, the proprietress patted her thigh and said to Jiang Xin excitedly:
"Hey, you've asked the right person!"
"I have been running a breakfast stall in this market for more than 20 years. If there is any movement within a radius of ten miles, I will know it!"
After saying this, the proprietress looked at Jiang Xin.
When I saw her cute appearance, I felt a liking for her.
She looked at Jiang Xin carefully for a few times, and her heart became even happier. With a pair of smiling eyes, she said to Jiang Xin:
"You are such a pretty little girl. You look a little unfamiliar to me, as if I have never seen you before."
She has a good memory, and because of her business, she can basically remember everything she sees.
At this moment, the proprietress was absolutely sure that Jiang Xin looked like Zhang Sheng.
After Jiang Xin heard this, she replied:
"Yes, I'm not a local. I came from the provincial capital and married here. Recently, I planned to do some small business here, so I started to consider renting a house."
Jiang Xin explained her situation in a calm tone without blushing or getting nervous.
She was absolutely right!
Didn't she just marry here? It's just that Jiang Xin selectively concealed how she got here.
After hearing what she said, the lady boss thought about it and said to Jiang Xin:
"You're lucky. I actually know a house for rent right now."
"It's not someone else's, it's my brother and sister-in-law's house. Their child is going to the provincial capital to study in college. He's the only child in the family, and they've been keeping an eye on him since he was little."
"School is about to start, and my sister-in-law can't bear to leave her child, so she wants to go to the provincial capital to accompany her child to study."
"The house he lives in was allocated by his work unit a few years ago. The surrounding environment is quite good. The neighbors who live here are all educated and talented!"
When Jiang Xin heard this, her eyes lit up instantly.
Highly qualified neighbors, isn't that what she wants?
Therefore, Jiang Xin couldn't wait to speak:
"I want to rent. Is the house still available?"
