Chapter 13: Earning a Month's Salary
She cleared her throat and said to the people who were still watching with a smile:
“We’re out of eggs, but we still have something else.”
"Uncles and aunts, would you like to take a look at my rice and mushrooms?"
As soon as Jiang Xin finished speaking, the onlookers who didn't get any eggs shifted their gaze to other baskets.
The first thing to be sold was rice.
After all, this good thing will be discovered by people even if it is placed there quietly.
The rice in Jiang Xin's basket looked crystal clear, as if it was glowing.
Those who know the value of it would have already touched it.
I grabbed a handful of rice, put it to my nose and smelled it. A faint rice fragrance wafted out.
A man who looked to be in his sixties came over and kept looking at the rice in Jiang Xin's basket.
Obviously he was an expert at identifying goods. The man could tell at once that the rice from Jiang Xin was of the best quality.
His eyes suddenly lit up.
Pointing at Jiang Xin's rice, he asked where it came from. He wanted to buy more:
"Girl, where did you get this rice? It's even better than what I eat at home."
"I've lived for so many years, but this is the first time I've seen rice of such high quality."
When the man spoke, his tone rose unnaturally, and he sounded very excited.
Of course, he didn't have much hope when he said this, he was just testing Jiang Xin.
After all, he thought that no family would have too much of a scarce food like rice.
Jiang Xin is a little girl who doesn't look very old.
I guess he was having financial difficulties at home, so he took the rice from his home to sell in the vegetable market.
I guess I haven't been willing to eat it, so I have saved so much.
The man was right in his guess.
But he would never have imagined that Jiang Xin really had rice, and not only that, but also an unlimited supply.
When Jiang Xin heard this, she knew that a big deal had come, and she became excited instantly.
But she thought about it and realized that rice was a scarce commodity.
If this person wanted to buy more, she couldn't just take out hundreds of kilograms of rice out of thin air and arouse suspicion.
Jiang Xin thought for a moment and started to lie:
"This rice was grown by a relative of mine. The quantity is not much. If you want more, I really can't make up my mind."
"How about this, you buy a few kilograms and take them home to taste. If you think it tastes good, I will set up a stall here more often in the future."
"If you still want to buy it then, I'll ask my relatives to see if I can sell you more."
When the man heard this, he knew that there might be something wrong with buying rice.
He grinned and analyzed Jiang Xin's words carefully, and he also agreed with them very much.
This rice is not like other things. You have to put it in your mouth to know its taste and texture.
If he bought hundreds of kilograms without even trying it, and it turned out not to be delicious, he would be at a huge loss.
Although it won't be a waste, if the taste is not good, people will probably become numb after eating hundreds of kilograms of it.
Hearing Jiang Xin say that she would often come to the vegetable market to set up a stall in the future, the man thought for a while and then said:
"Then I'll listen to you. I'll buy five kilograms of rice to try it out. If it's good, I'll come back to buy more from you."
Jiang Xin smiled and took out a plastic bag, then weighed five kilograms for him.
After this order was sold, a new round of buying began.
This basket of rice didn't weigh much to begin with.
There were many people gathering around Jiang Xin's stall, and soon all the baskets of rice were sold out.
Next came mushrooms and hare.
Mushrooms are fresh and cheap, so there is no need to worry about selling them.
In the end, only the meat of the two wild rabbits was left.
Because the price was a little bit high, there was only one left in the end.
Because of the time, it’s almost time for dinner.
Jiang Xin had just earned his first pot of gold and was planning to have a good meal today to improve his diet.
She had been busy in the vegetable market for more than two hours and her stomach was now empty.
When she opened her eyes today, she found that she was still eating the food she had picked up from the space when she first came here.
It has been consumed by now!
Jiang Xin still remembered what Fu's mother had told her to do, asking her to get back to the Fu family before dark.
Jiang Xin simply packed up the remaining rabbit meat.
Then, he stacked the empty baskets together and walked out of the vegetable market carrying a shoulder pole.
She has never been someone who would treat herself badly.
She first walked around the town, found a state-owned restaurant, and walked in without hesitation.
After finding a seat and sitting down.
The waiter brought the menu and asked her to order.
Jiang Xin took the menu, looked through it for a few seconds, selected two signature dishes, and ordered two beef pancakes.
After ordering, she handed the menu back to the waiter.
Suddenly, Jiang Xin thought of the wild rabbit meat in the carrying pole.
She suddenly had an idea, and seeing the waiter collecting the menu and preparing to leave, she quickly called out to him:
"Hello, I would like to ask, can you help me process the ingredients in your store?"
Jiang Xin asked tentatively, without expressing any expectations.
But who would have thought that after hearing this, the waiter didn't look surprised at all.
He was extremely calm and asked Jiang Xin what kind of ingredients she wanted to process, as if he was already used to it.
Seeing that it worked, Jiang Xin quickly took out the rabbit meat from the carrying pole and handed it to the waiter.
After the waiter took it, he took a look and saw that it was a skinless wild rabbit. His pupils immediately trembled.
Jiang Xin, a little girl, could actually carry out the bloody rabbit meat without changing her expression. It was really shocking.
Fortunately, he still has basic professional qualities.
The waiter carried the wild rabbit meat, estimated the weight, and said to Jiang Xin:
"The processing fee is five dollars, is that okay with you?"
This restaurant is not a charity, so if you want them to help you process the ingredients, you have to pay.
Jiang Xin was also clear about this.
When the waiter asked her opinion, she nodded in agreement.
She had just made a lot of money from her stall today, so she could still afford this little money.
Upon seeing this, the waiter hurriedly took the rabbit meat downstairs to ask the chef to process it.
Because it was dinner time, there were quite a few people in this state-owned restaurant.
While waiting for the meal, Jiang Xin was bored, so she simply took out the money she had earned today from her bag and checked it.
She wanted to see how much money she had earned today.
After counting, Jiang Xin was surprised to find that her net income today was fifty-four yuan and twenty cents.
She earned a month's salary for others in just one day!
