Chapter 121 How can I let my heart be moved?

The man's strong arms were wrapped around Fang Xiyue's waist.

A severed hand of a zombie flew past Fang Xiyue from behind.

Because both of them were wearing masks, they couldn't see each other's faces, but their eyes inevitably met.

Fang Xiyue's heart was beating a little fast, but she thought she was probably frightened by this sudden change.

"Thanks."

Fang Xiyue quickly stood up straight and thanked him.

You're welcome. Be careful and stay close to me.

The man's voice was very pleasant and mature, giving one a jolt.

Fang Xiyue thought that he must have thought she didn't have much fighting power, which was why he made her stick close to him.

"good."

Fang Xiyue nodded, then followed behind him to continue killing zombies.

The roads here are narrow and there are many zombies, so it's a bit difficult to maneuver.

"Never mind, let's use submachine guns. Everyone come and get them."

Fang Xiyue spoke softly.

The members of the Peak Squad immediately moved closer to Fang Xiyue.

One submachine gun was issued to each person, and then a hand was extended in front of Fang Xiyue.

"What about mine?"

It was the man who had just saved her.

Because the system was upgrading, Fang Xiyue couldn't see their names.

"Uh, here you go."

Fang Xiyue handed the submachine gun she was holding to the man.

The man weighed it in his hand with satisfaction.

Fang Xiyue then took out 10 more submachine guns and distributed them to the man's teammates as well.

After that, it was a one-sided massacre. The submachine guns were fast; they lined up and sprayed bullets all the way.

Zombies lay dead on the ground, their blood pooling on the road and emitting a foul stench.

As the shoes walk by and lift up, they create ripples.

"Submachine guns are still the most fun."

They chatted while they played.

What's your team's name?

"We're called the Sunrise Squad, sounds good, right?"

"We call ourselves the Peak Squad, it sounds better than yours."

"Who said that? Ours sounds better."

The two sides had a friendly exchange about which team's name sounded better.

Fang Xiyue couldn't help but laugh out loud. They were all adorable people, though a little childish.

"So happy?"

The man beside her leaned closer, slightly lowering his head.

"Yes, I'm happy. Everyone seems to be doing well."

Fang Xiyue likes to be with simple people who don't have many complicated relationships.

"We will escort you back, and then we will be stationed there. We can communicate more in the future."

The man laughed too, not loudly, but Fang Xiyue heard it.

What's your name?

The man asked again, but then he thought it was pointless to ask, since they had all been asked to use pseudonyms.

"Qin Miao".

"Nan Yan."

Both sides knew the name was fake, but a fake name was better than no name at all.

"Why do you keep talking to my sister?"

Fang Xichen had been watching the two interact for a long time, and she always felt that the man had ulterior motives.

Although he had never met his brother-in-law, he still had to help him protect his sister.

We can't let her be led astray by some other man. My sister is so naive; she's easily deceived.

Nan Yan looked up at Fang Xichen.

The two were about the same height, and when their eyes met, it seemed like lightning struck.

"What are you looking at? My name is Qin Qi, Qin Miao's brother. You have something to say to me."

Fang Xichen pulled Fang Xiyue over to him.

"Brother, what are you doing? Nan Yan didn't mean any harm."

Fang Xiyue felt a little embarrassed.

"What do you know? Hide it well."

Fang Xichen pressed his younger sister's head down and tucked it behind her back.

"You're being too rude to your sister!"

Nan Yan frowned slightly. He didn't understand what was wrong with him, but he couldn't control himself the moment he saw Fang Xiyue.

He wanted to get to know her, to hear her voice, and to understand her.

At 24 years old, this was the first time he had the urge to get to know a girl, even though he had no idea what she looked like.

He wasn't here before; he was transferred here to guard the granary after the apocalypse.

"I didn't exert any effort, you don't need to worry about it."

Although Fang Xichen said that, he still turned around and glanced at his sister. "Good, she's alright."

Fang Xiyue wrinkled her nose; she had bumped into it by accident, but it didn't hurt.

Fang Xichen pulled Fang Xiyue to the right, far away from 'Nan Yan'.

"Boss, what's going on? You know this girl?"

Nan Yan's teammates couldn't help but lean over.

"Too talkative."

Nan Yan's voice was icy cold, completely different from the voice he used when speaking to Fang Xiyue; it had lost all its gentleness.

"Hey? Boss, you're treating me too differently. I'm really hurt."

His teammate clutched his chest.

"Hurry up and kill the zombies, don't get distracted."

'Nan Yan' slapped his teammate on the back.

Everyone then proceeded quietly, and finally at 3:30, all the zombies on the street were cleared away.

The ground was littered with zombie corpses.

"Oh! That's great!"

"We're saved!"

The survivors in the nearby building cheered loudly; they had been there all along but hadn't dared to make a sound.

They finally relaxed after all the zombies were eliminated.

Fang Xiyue released the two cars, and everyone quickly got into their respective vehicles.

The rest of the journey was much smoother, and there were no more large-scale zombie encounters.

They charged recklessly all the way to the granary, which was heavily guarded by troops.
