The reason those survivors ran outside was because some of the survivors living with them had mutated into zombies, forcing them to flee.
But the outside world is just as unsafe, with zombies converging from all directions.
These zombies all poured in from areas that hadn't been cleared yet.
After this rain, only 1/10 of the world's survivors remained, less than 800 million.
Star City now has only about 2 million people left.
What does this mean? It means that overnight, half the population turned into zombies!

Some survivors stood by the window, watching the large numbers of zombies surging in outside, and cried uncontrollably.
