After finishing her meal, Jiang Li took a sip of water from her thermos. She glanced back and saw that her tail was still following her.
Should we shake them off?
Seeing that she was looking back, Gu Jin asked her opinion in a low voice. Jiang Li frowned, took out her binoculars, and observed the large boxes carried by the nine people behind her.
"They're so clingy."
Fu Xiaxia said, seeing the speedboat that had been following them.
"They probably thought we were easy to bully. If we ran too fast, they might think we actually had supplies here."
"Okay, whatever you say."
Gu Jin chimed in from the side.
Fang Qingxun glanced at their empty deck and seemed quite interested in the large boxes at the back.
"The metal boxes must be full of their supplies."
Speedboats can't compare to large houses on land; living space is limited. With so many people, it's impossible to put all the supplies in the speedboat. The group also glanced at the metal box.
"What, you want to bring the box up?"
Shi Yuan said, seeing Fang Qingxun's eager expression.
"Since they want to rob us, we should definitely take the opportunity to rob them back. There must be a lot of stuff in such a big box."
Fang Qingxun stared at the box, stroked his chin, and said.
The afternoon was relatively long, so the group changed positions. Soon, a breeze picked up on the water, causing ripples that hindered the speedboat's progress.
Jiang Li wasn't idle either; she put her hand into the water and kept filling her space with water.
From the rear view, Li Zihui could only see Jiang Li standing sideways, with one hand in the water.
"What's that woman up ahead doing?"
Li Zihui squinted and stared for a long time, but still couldn't understand the operation.
The others were drawn over by his words and squatted on the deck to observe the movements of the small boat ahead.
Unfortunately, all they could see was Jiang Li putting his hand into the water, but they couldn't see anything else clearly.
"Is she catching fish?"
"We've been underwater for so long, have you seen a single fish?"
"That's true. I knew something was wrong. With such a large body of water, how come we can't see a single fish?"
"All the fish in the river were caught, there are no fish left."
"If not in the river, then there's the sea."
Looking at the rippling water, Li Zihui also followed Gu Jin's example and lay on the stern of the boat.
He took out the water bottle from his waist, scooped up a cup, and didn't see anything wrong with it.
"Is this water drinkable? You should ask Sister Wenting to get a filter to treat it for you."
The younger girl stood to the side, frowning.
"Why can't I drink this? It's just a small matter, why bother Sister Wenting?"
Adhering to the principle of "a little dirt won't hurt," Li Zihui gulped down several mouthfuls.
Seeing this, the young girl didn't say anything more.
The two speedboats continued to travel one after the other. Unlike the base, danger lurked everywhere outside, and the crew had to take turns keeping watch.
Jiang Li was half asleep, leaning back in his chair, when he suddenly felt the ship shake and woke up with a start. The others also woke up.
"What's wrong?"
At this moment, Shi Yuan and Shi Lin set sail, and Shi Yuan turned around and said something.
“A strong wind has picked up. You all sleep a little longer, we’ll take control of the boat.”
Jiang Li glanced at the time on her watch; there was still an hour before it was her and Gu Jin's turn to keep watch. She then closed her eyes and lay down again.
After sleeping for a few minutes, she got up again, bent down and walked to the back of the speedboat, but did not see the speedboat behind her.
"Did you see the speedboat from before? Didn't those people follow?"
Shi Lin looked back and pondered for a while.
"I don't know, it was still there before the waves started."
Jiang Li was slightly taken aback when he heard Shi Lin say that.
"Shi Lin, drive faster, get out of here quickly, and raise the glass cover while you're at it."
Fortunately, the speedboat we chose had a glass canopy, which made it safer than one without.
"OK."
Seeing that she sounded anxious, Shi Lin didn't ask any more questions. He increased the speed of the boat and opened the glass canopy of the speedboat.
Everyone was already awake when the waves started to rise, and they were just starting to feel drowsy again when they heard the two of them talking, which woke them all up.
Jiang Li bent over and walked back to the front. As soon as she sat down on the chair, she took out raincoats from her spatial storage and gave them to everyone.
The raincoat is a one-piece design, and once the zipper is zipped up, even if it falls into the water, the clothes underneath won't get wet.
A few minutes later, Gu Jin and Fang Qingxun took over Shi Lin and Shi Yuan's positions, giving them time to put on their raincoats.
With the sudden surge of waves, Jiang Li had a feeling that things weren't so simple.
"Why don't you sleep a little longer?"
Knowing that now was not the time to play the hero, and that they needed to rest to conserve their energy, the group obediently lay down on the sidelines, closed their eyes, and rested.
"Would you like to take a break too?"
Gu Jin saw that Jiang Li was sitting on the stool and didn't seem to be planning to rest.
"It's okay, I can't sleep anymore. You can sleep a little longer. I'll wake you if I need anything."
Jiang Li said to Gu Jin.
"good."
Seeing that Jiang Li really didn't want to sleep, Gu Jin didn't try to persuade him anymore.
"Shi Yuan, Shi Lin, do you want to go and rest for a bit? I'll stay and watch for a while."
Jiang Li spoke softly beside the two of them.
"Shi Yuan, go and get some rest."
Shi Lin glanced at Shi Yuan and said.
"good."
Shi Yuan didn't stand on ceremony with Shi Lin, so he switched seats with Jiang Li and rested in his seat.
Suddenly, the cabin fell silent, with only the soft breathing sounds coming from beside me.
