Jiang Li and his group didn't take the people opposite them seriously. Even if they met and clashed, Jiang Li believed they wouldn't pose a threat.
However, the group remained vigilant, wary of the source of the noise outside. They looked around all the nearby windows but saw only darkness, finding no suspicious traces whatsoever.
“Dumb—! Dumb—…”
The voice of the unknown creature continued to come, growing closer and closer...
"Come quick! Holy crap, boss, look at those flying things in the sky!"
Suddenly, Fang Qingxun cried out in surprise, without putting down his binoculars for even a moment!
Gu Jinxin's heart sank, and he quickly picked up his binoculars to check! The others also picked up their binoculars and looked in the direction Fang Qingxun was pointing.
What Jiang Li saw next left her breathless.
And there it was!
A flock of dark birds flew towards the second floor opposite, their red eyes densely covering the entire sky!
Even with Jiang Li's most conservative estimate, there are definitely several thousand of them. Most importantly, these red eyes are usually only found in mutated animals.
Soon, the flock of birds reached the outside of the building, flapping their wings and seemingly oblivious to the pain as they crashed into the windows!
Only when he got closer, through the brightness of the flames, could Jiang Li clearly see what these birds looked like!
Black feathers, black beak, black legs, black claws... Except for a pair of scarlet eyes, its entire body is black!
"It's a flock of crows! They're all mutated crows."
Gu Jin frowned and spoke coldly.
"Quick! Go and close all the windows in this building!"
Jiang Li suddenly shouted because, through her binoculars, she noticed that a window in the building across the street was not fully closed.
The flock of crows quickly spotted the gap, and in the blink of an eye, they gathered together, turned around, and swooped down towards the spot!
By then, it was too late for the survivors inside to close the windows!
One flock of crows after another swarmed into the house.
The group put down their binoculars and quickly checked all the windows!
After locking everything up, they returned to the room and breathed a sigh of relief!
After they had some free time, the group picked up their binoculars again to check the situation on the other side.
"That's terrifying! That's horrifying! Who can stop such a flock of crows?"
Fang Qingxun was very fortunate that the crows' primary target was not them; even if they were, it would be difficult for them to avoid getting hurt in such a large flock of crows.
The room opposite was now a complete mess. Although he couldn't hear anything from that distance, Jiang Li could see all the survivors inside, each with a terrified expression and their mouths agape as they screamed.
Especially their eyes, which were filled with despair! This was a one-sided massacre, in which they had absolutely no chance of resistance!
One by one, the survivors were pounced on and fell. The room was littered with raven feathers, corpses, and bits of flesh. Even the windowpanes were splattered with blood!
Until the last man fell under the claws of countless crows, he never got up again!
"All dead."
Jiang Li muttered to herself, her face expressionless, but her mood was incredibly bad because she was afraid—afraid that the flock of crows would soon discover them!
"Keep quiet and away from light. The flock of crows was probably heading to the base, but they've been drawn there by the fire they lit."
Gu Jin's thoughts raced, and she quickly made a judgment, reminding everyone of something.
The group pursed their lips, nodded, and tried to stay hidden in the shadows so the crows wouldn't notice them. Just then, as Gu Jin finished speaking, Jiang Li suddenly saw that there were two survivors on the first floor, a man and a woman!
The two may have been doing something intimate downstairs, which is why they escaped death and did not die at the scene like the other survivors.
The two survivors also saw the flock of crows, quickly put on their clothes, ran downstairs, and got into the nearest car!
Ignite the engine, shift gears, and quickly escape this terrifying land of death!
The roar of the car engine quickly attracted the attention of a flock of crows, who chased after it and swooped down behind it. The car drove forward, followed by a dense swarm of crows.
Looking at the direction the cars were traveling, thankfully it wasn't towards them, but rather in the opposite direction. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.
Some of the crows followed the car away, while others lingered because of the smell of blood from the building across the street. There were even a few crows near their building.
Jiang Li and his group dared not make any move, for fear of attracting the crows' attention. The car that had just driven away had crashed into the wall because the crows were all around it, and the people inside were already panicked.
Meanwhile, the man and woman who were hit by the impact on the bus were a little dizzy, but they quickly regained their senses, got off the bus, and ran one after the other toward a nearby building!
The woman was sitting in the passenger seat, closer to the door. A surge of joy welled up inside her as she pushed the door open. It opened very easily!
The man, who was slowing down because he needed to go around the back of the car, was caught by several of the fastest-flying crows that had already swooped down on his back.
The crow's sharp claws tore through the man's clothes, and then its sharp beak pecked at him, injuring him!
Despite the excruciating pain, he stumbled and followed the woman into the building.
The others could no longer be seen, but after a while, they heard two people scream, and then there was no more sound. It was estimated that they were probably dead.
Jiang Li and the others waited for a long time before the crows slowly began to fly away. Once all the crows had flown away, the tense nerves of the group finally relaxed.
Jiang Li looked in the direction the crows were flying and spoke.
"It seems we made the right choice."
Gu Jin also looked in the direction the crows were flying and said.
“We were just guessing before, but now it seems we can be sure.”
Fu Xiaxia also glanced at it and said.
"Hopefully Captain Chen and his team have a way to deal with this, otherwise many people will probably die."
Gu Jin glanced at the sky, then set an alarm on her phone and said.
"It's almost dawn. Let's rest for a bit and then set off to leave this place."
As for the corpses in the building across the street, there's no need to worry about them turning into zombies, since they're just skeletons now, and they really don't want to go to the crime scene there.
After the alarm rang, the group washed up, ate some porridge, and set off. It wasn't that they didn't want to eat something better, but after seeing what had just happened, none of them had much of an appetite.
As they drove, they passed the building where the couple had fled earlier. They could see inside from the entrance. The two hadn't even reached the stairs; they collapsed not far from the entrance. Jiang Li and the others only glanced at them before continuing to drive.
