Chapter 151 Zoo

The group that left the battlefield has now found a safe place to wash up. After fighting the "slime," they were covered in filth and had an unpleasant odor.

If it weren't for the fact that it would attract a lot of zombies, the group would probably have washed themselves clean on the spot.

Jiang Li washed herself several times before she was satisfied, because the smell was really hard to get rid of.

In the following days, the group continued to advance rapidly toward the first base.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye. They were almost out of R City and would be able to enter H City tomorrow.

During this time, they encountered a huge horde of zombies. Because there were so many of them, they chose to avoid battle and took a longer route.

On the second day at noon, the group finally entered H City, getting closer and closer to the base.

However, as the car drove forward, Jiang Li felt more and more familiar with the place. It was Shi Lin's turn to drive. She had been catching up on sleep, and when she woke up and looked outside, she felt that the place seemed very familiar.

As she thought about it, she suddenly realized why it felt familiar, but many years had passed and things had changed, so she patted Gu Jin's shoulder uncertainly.

"Gu Jin, look, isn't this the place where you were chased by the tiger before?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Jin opened her eyes and looked outside. After a while, she spoke.

"This is it."

Although there have been some changes, the overall design remains the same, and I can still recognize it.

"Oh no, are the tigers still here? And this is a zoo, what if..."

Jiang Li didn't finish speaking, but Gu Jin understood, as did Shi Lin, who was driving, and Shi Yuan, who was in the passenger seat.

But it was too late. Just as Shi Lin heard their conversation and wanted to speed things up, what Jiang Li was thinking had already happened.

Jiang Li had already heard the sound from behind.

"Awoooo ...

What was that sound?

Fang Qingxun opened his eyes groggily. He had been the one turning on the lights, and he had only been asleep for a short while when he heard the noise. Fu Xiaxia, who was next to him, also woke up.

"Shi Lin, speed up."

Gu Jin didn't reply to him, but spoke to Shi Lin in a serious tone. Shi Lin immediately stepped on the gas and sped forward.

Jiang Li and Gu Jin had already seen what was happening behind them. Fang Qingxun, seeing his boss's serious expression, also turned to look back and was immediately startled.

Because hordes of zombie-like beasts were frantically chasing after them.

At first there were only wolves, but later tigers, leopards, lions and other zombie beasts appeared. The variety of these zombie beasts was too complex, with all sorts of different kinds.

"Awoooooo!"

“Roar, roar, roar, roar!”

"Wooo ...

...

A series of deafening roars began to reach their ears.

Their red eyes were densely intertwined, creating an oppressive atmosphere!

"What's going on?"

"Yeah, why are there suddenly so many wild animals?"

Fu Xiaxia and Fang Qingxun said in disbelief.

Jiang Li looked behind him and spoke to the group in a serious tone.

There used to be a zoo around here.

After Jiang Li explained it this way, the two of them understood why there were so many animals here. In fact, Jiang Li originally thought that after so much time had passed, these animals would have left. He did not expect that there would still be so many animals, and they had all become zombies.

Shi Lin glanced in the rearview mirror and was surprised to find an elephant charging wildly towards them from behind the herd.

He observed it with a cold face and found that the skin of the carcass elephant seemed to have become even harder, and its long trunk was like an iron whip, constantly swinging back and forth.

“There is an elephant chasing us.”

Shi Lin told everyone his size, and Jiang Li looked back and sure enough, he saw the elephant behind him.

Jiang Li observed that although the size of this zombie elephant had not increased, its weight and speed had definitely become more terrifying.

Because with each step it takes forward, a dull footstep is heard, leaving a deep footprint behind it.

Perhaps the only thing that brought relief to everyone was that, thankfully, there was only one zombified elephant...

Moreover, among the horde of zombie beasts behind them, apart from this elephant, there were no other rare species such as giraffes, nor any flying birds.

Jiang Li didn't understand. The apocalypse had been going on for so long, shouldn't all the animals in the zoo have left by now? Why were there still so many animals, and why had they all turned into zombies?

Half a minute later, Gu Jin saw that the several zombie beasts in front of the convoy were getting closer and closer to the caravan, and he knew that they could not escape easily at this moment.

Because the corpse wolves and corpse leopards were simply too fast; their running speed far exceeded that of their vehicles.

As time goes on, their car will be caught up sooner or later.

Seeing this, while there was still some distance between them, Gu Jin decisively told Shi Lin to prepare to stop the car. They couldn't sit idly by and decided to fight back.

"Shi Lin, hurry! Head towards the higher point of the earthen slope ahead, park the car there, and begin the battle!"

"Yes, Captain!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Shi Lin parked the car on the earthen slope.

They all knew that the longer the situation dragged on, the worse it would be for everyone; only by taking up arms and fighting back would they have a chance of survival.
