Chapter 2 Stockpiling

The next day, Jiang Li hadn't had a good night's sleep in a long time, so he let himself go and slept as long as he wanted. By the time he got up, washed up, and went out, it was almost noon.

There's a famous breakfast shop not far downstairs. I used to eat their steamed buns all the time, but it was a bit late today and they didn't have many left. I packed a few to go and saved for later. Then, under the pretext of ordering breakfast for my employees, I ordered 20 of each kind of steamed buns, including meat buns, red bean buns, vegetable buns, and custard buns, as well as 20 fried dough sticks. I ordered a month's worth and will pick them up every morning. I paid the owner half of the deposit.

After leaving the store, I planned to go to the company. I had already made an appointment with a professional yesterday afternoon to assess the company's market value. Jiang left the company five years ago. Although it's not a big company, it's still considered a small to medium-sized enterprise.

The sale of a company cannot be resolved in a day or two, so it needs to be done as soon as possible to get the cash flow back and then use it to purchase supplies.

Jiang Li was still a little reluctant to leave the company she had built from scratch, but there was nothing she could do about it.

After handing the company over to professionals, it was already past 2 p.m. I drove to the largest grain and oil wholesale market in the city. It's cheaper here than outside, saving a lot of money. I only found out this when I was at the orphanage once, when I went out with the aunt who was doing the shopping. It's only a half-hour drive from the city center. I got out of the car and found a relatively large grain and oil store.

"Hello, young lady, what would you like to order?" I was greeted by a warm and friendly older woman.

"Hello ma'am, I want large portions of all the regular rice varieties in your store, including Northeast rice, pearl rice, black rice, purple rice, glutinous rice, and millet. I'd like 50 bags of each."

"Then, 100 jin each of red beans, mung beans, broad beans, black beans, and buckwheat," she said, pointing to the various grains displayed together at the shop entrance.

Then, pointing to the other side, he said, "Give me 50 jin each of cornmeal, sweet potato noodles, buckwheat noodles, vermicelli, rice noodles, and dried noodles."

"Give me 50 jin each of starch, rice flour, high-gluten flour, low-gluten flour, medium-gluten flour, corn flour, and wheat flour."

"Then, please bring 10 barrels each of corn oil, olive oil, walnut oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, and soybean oil."

"Young lady, you want so much? What do you do? I've never seen you before." The proprietress looked at the young girl in front of her. She was dressed neatly and was very pretty. She had never seen her before, otherwise she would definitely remember such a pretty girl.

These items were all within reasonable wholesale quantities, based on Jiang Li's research. Buying too much might attract the attention of relevant departments and raise suspicions of price gouging, especially since it was being purchased in an individual's name.

"Oh, ma'am, I'm a new purchasing agent at our company. Our boss has recently taken over a lot of school and factory canteens, so the demand is quite high." This was the explanation Jiang Li had prepared beforehand; the people in the shop wouldn't know if it was true or not.

"No wonder! I was wondering why you looked unfamiliar. Do you have a car? I'll have them load it into your car first, then I'll calculate the cost for you."

"Okay, the car is right at the market entrance. The license plate number is ×××××××, and the driver's surname is Zhao."

The vehicle was rented near the market; wholesale markets like this usually have trucks available for rent. The owner gave the truck driver's number and license plate number so they could load the goods onto the truck.

These totaled 400,000 yuan. After paying the shop owner, I got her contact information, planning to buy more in batches later. This way, the purchases will be more spread out, and the total amount over six months will be quite substantial.

I gave the driver a warehouse address, paid him a 500 yuan deposit, and told him to go to that address after loading the goods. I also hired a few workers to unload the goods and arranged a time with them before heading to the next location.
